Jordan said he was watching this game sitting in the Birmingham Barons clubhouse, and he said it felt like his little brother was getting picked on by The Neighborhood Bully.
Riley never won a playoff series against Jordan when he was playing for the Bulls this was the only playoff match that he won against the Bulls because the GOAT was playing baseball at Birmingham 🤣
What a beautiful time to be a Knicks fan… That time period the Knicks were always contenders and the playoffs were always memorable. I still think that year was the Knicks year to win it all but Hakeem simply wanted it more than Patrick. Memorable playoffs that year for sure.
I felt 93 and 94 was the Knicks window to win the Championship during that time. The Charles Smith missed layup changed the completion of that Bulls series in 93. They would have beaten Barkley Suns in the Finals.
@@tylongkicks8821 I agree, the bulls weren’t suppose to be there that year, that was our time. The playoffs is all about matchups and I agree with you that Patrick Ewing would’ve dominated that finals if the Knicks would’ve played the Suns.
@@tylongkicks8821 that wulda ben a good one tho....two diff. styles.....suns were fast paced scoring team...and knicks were slow down grind it out tough team.....I think NY wulda won...but wulda ben a good one. Yeah the suns had no1 for ewing...but barkley wulda schooled Charles smith...and starks and KJ wulda ben a great match-up
This was my personal favorite Bulls season. The Bulls played valiantly and made a deep playoff run despite Michael Jordan getting replaced by Pete Myers.
Out of all the great bulls runs and championship's this was your favorite season they didn't even make it to the eastern conference finals But What I do think about this season the Knicks went 7 games in this series and then a hard series against the Indiana pacers and faced the Rockets in the NBA finals and was just a couple of plays from winning the championship. That they should have won But I think these series took a lot out of them all were great series.
Same here I mean , MJ was great, but this Bulls team shared the ball more, they had an underdog status, overall a much more enjoyable Bulls team to watch
Without Jordan is the only time the Knicks beat the Bulls. But it took the Knicks 7 games to barely beat the Bulls. & The Bulls didn't have M.J. The Bulls- Knicks rivalry was a fierce one in the 90's.
Barely the bulls went all the way to a game 7 2 loose by 10 that's not barely that putting them away besides even though they didnt have jordan they still had all the pieces to win a championship
The Knicks could never beat the Bulls with Jordan. They barely won this one. Soon as Mike comes back, next meeting in ‘96, Knicks are getting that backside paddled again 😂
This team was fucking loaded if it had jordan it’s the best team in nba history no doubt.. they still had the players from the first title n they added Kerr longley kukoc n wennington .. it was ridiculous Scottie should have at least got this team to finals
One of Patrick’s better games passing the ball. Something he should’ve did more of. Teams use to just load up on him and at times he’d force things himself instead of look for the pass. He did it again in another game 7 after this against Pacers. Had 7 assists along with 11 offensive frickin rebounds.
Mase was a precursor to what Zion is in today's NBA, in terms of his overall playmaking ability. Too bad the Knicks offense was mainly Pat. That offense could've opened up a lot of things. Mason wasn't completely unlocked until Don Nelson showed up for the 95-96 season where he became a full time starter.
Such a Beautiful dunk at 50 second from Scottie. So close Scottie to win another championship without MJ and Rodman. You can understand the level of player from this guy against such moment, a leaders in all the sense!
@@awakethemaster Watched the entire series pal. Explain to me how he was close to winning another ring if he didn't even reach the conference finals? Maybe you and I have different definitions of the word "close".
@@brucesmith1544 I'm a Knicks fan and those 2 teams were 1 and 2 defensively that year. Knicks were 1st. Houston ha a little better offense. They were very evenly matched up but Hakeem was just better then Ewing. Starks caught fire in game 6 and had a chance 2 win the game and the Championship with a 3 at the buzzer but Hakkem blocked it. I miss those 90 Knicks team. This year were good but definitely need another great player like a Butler or Beal. Someone like that.
@@Frankieefootballmundial If the Pacers would have swept them does that better the Hawks were a better than the Bulls because they did not swept the Hawks,
@@bw1190 bulls play like trash on game 1 and 2 of the conference semifinals in 94 the bulls would’ve had the same luck in the conference finals of that year
This was a big, physical and a good NY Knicks team coached by no other than Pat Riley. When MJ waa still playing they had several playoff runs that NY always lose to the Bulls.Without, MJ they finally got over the hump but eventually lost to the Rockets in 7.
Really, the ´94 Bulls were a fairly likeable team. Comparing the Bulls and the NYK frontcourt, it´s quite impressive how many points Chicago made from inside the paint.
Knicks won that series because they dominated the 4th quarters even in the games they lost (and when of them was the Kukoc buzzer beater after Pippen refused to check into the game). As a Bulls fan, those fourth quarters were terrible to watch. And that was when that team missed Michael Jordan the most. Didn't have the ultimate closer
55 win team. Without MJ. And refs helped Knicks in one of those games. Imagine Bulls without MJ facing Pacers. Would be bad fit for Indiana. Now take Malone out of Utah and they dont win half of those 62/64 wins.Stockton was great but his game was never to take many shots. Thats why Malone got the MVP.
What your point ?? The bulls were couched and conditioned to be a good team Especially with Pippen total knowledge of Jordans game and mentality But without Mj determination and killer instinct they couldn't win in real tough situation against a very good team like New York and probably Indiana pacers either.
Bulls were a 3peat team still intact after Jordan retired. The Bulls added six new players that combined for over 40ppg. You don't no how good Stockton and the Jazz were if you actually believe this take. The Bulls had help from the refs this series as well.
@@sideshowbobsaget8876 Im Jazz fan. Know exactly what Bavetta did. Point was to say how really valuable was Malone as the system in Utah. Jazz needed Stock to be same 91, 90 version of himself and we could have won chip. Not 34 year old Stock scoring 10 points and 5 assists in crucial game.
@@mr.e347 The Jazz should've took a page out of Hakeem Rockets playbook and use their 3point shooting to their advantage against the Bulls. The truth is Stockton and Malone peaked at the wrong time (88-98) if they made it out West than they had the Pistons or Bulls waiting for them. Malone obviously was valuable and the Jazz would have no hope at the championship without him, but the Jazz are definitely making the Playoffs without Malone. Just like the Lakers and Celtics made the Playoffs after Magic and Bird retired.
HATE WHEN PEOPLE TALK ABOUT THE CALL AT THE END OF GAME 5... IT WAS A FOUL. !!!!!!! WATCH THE DAMN CLIP CLOSELY PIP HIT HIS ARM..... YES AFTER THE SHOT WAS RELEASED BUT THE BULLS WERE IN THE PENALTY.....DAVIS WAS GOING TO THE LINE EITHER WAY
Now to all who says that mj never won anything without pippen, here's the proof. Pippen can't lead the bulls past the second round without mj. Whereas mj never said he won it all for his team. Even called pip his greatest teammate. It's a teammate sport afterall. Truth remains, without mj, the bulls lacks the tip of a spear.
@@hectorlopez1069 nope you’re wrong. Regular season does not carry over to the playoffs. Especially when you only play twice in the regular season and those games have minimal impact on your record. Playoff Mike was a different beast. Knicks took rockets to game 7, and those knicks barely squeaked by a Jordan less bulls team. Rockets would’ve been cooked in 5-6 games against Jordan’s bulls
If it weren't for the phantom foul called on Pip in Game 5, the Bulls win this series in 6 games, which would have been a carbon copy of the year before.
The "phantom foul" is such a myth. Pippen clearly hit Hubert Davis on the follow through. Anyone who has ever played ball knows that if you hit a shooter on the follow through you may get called for a foul. Dumb play by Pippen, and Hubert Davis still had to hit the 2 clutch foul shots which he did. Truth is, if Kukoc doesn't bail the Bulls out and hit the prayer of a game winner in game 3 while Pippen sulked on the bench the Knicks probably would've swept. And game 5 was only as close as it was because Derek Harper foolishly got suspended fighting Bulls bench scrub A.J. English. And the Bulls still could've won game 7 and got blown out. The 94 Bulls were a great story and had a great regular season, but this whole "they almost won the championship" narrative is nonsense. They had a good run and lost to a better team.
@@carlosgarcia8342 LOL. I did say JK (just kidding) on my comment about me saying he was overrated. Though perhaps the '94 season showed that Pippen was underrated, and that Phil Jackson is perhaps one of the top 3 coaches of all time.
@@serge014 Dude the Bulls added 5 new players after Jordan left in 1994. 2 great shooters in Steve Kerr and Toni. When Ray Allen Joined the heat in 2013, all the players on the heat had their best season in terms of efficancy bro. Jordan missed 6 games from 1991 t0 1993, guess how many the Bulls won? they won 1 game and and lost 5 my guy. They were 1 - 5 without Jordan in the first three peat. Btw the Bulls in 1994 faced a very injurd team in the first round in the Cavs, and in the secend round the Knicks starting PG Derek Harper was ejected for 2 and a half games of that series. Stop pushing Narrtives around ok?
For all thoses who say that had Jordan been with the Bulls they would have won against the knckis let me tell you something Even if Michael Jordan was their in the 1994 nba playoffs the bulls would have still lost too the knicks The New York Kmicks where the best Eastern team that year and where better then the yrs before in this year 1994 knicks would have still beaten bulls with Jordan like they did here
@@TheBmills415 what are you talking about. The pistons shook hands with the bulls in the same game 7. They walked off the court ONCE and that wasn't even the same series. Jordan hadn't wrongfully attacked their non basketball and basketball lives yet so they didn't walk off the court yet
@@suede100s naaah... you got smoked when you sweeped or when its one sided beating. relax, i used to be bulls fan back then. but would love to see knicks winning a ring.

What happen to this group after this season??? They has the worst record until jordan came back and make it better...the reason they goes this far in 1994 because jordan left them all champions...he instill courage to his teammates...believing theyre that great of a group
The only reason the Bulls were eliminated by the Knicks is because of that phantom foul coin game 5. If that call wasn’t made on Scottie Pippen the Bulls eliminate the Knicks without Michael Jordan. Although New York made it to the finals that year. They lost to the Houston Rockets. Cheaters never win.
@@jarvasedundy1 "Almost missed the playoffs"? Why do people blatantly lie? No chance at all of missing the playoffs. Look at their advantage over the ninth ranked East team when 34-31 (when Jordan returned).
@@alexiscando5709 MJ's contribution to The Bulls is quite evident, even after MJ first retires, especially in light of Scottie Pippe's first Two Years. This particular Bulls' team with Scottie Pippen as The Leader has ridden The Wave that MJ has created but has ended up falling short. That's rather telling.
@@jarvasedundy1 Armstrong was still a Bull 94-95 season. Losing Cartwright, Grant and Scott Williams at front court really hurted team but the Bulls manage to reach 6th seed at 34-31 record when Jordan came back.
He had a good amount of rebounds but 20pts on 36.4% shooting, 16.4% from 3, and 50% FT ain't really playing that well tbh. Jordan would've gotten criticized til this day if he played this poorly during an elimination game.
@@bigslenk They added crucial pieces to their roster. Such as Toni Kukoc, Luc Longley, Steve Kerr. Even with the roster additions, they went from a 3peating championship team to a second round eliminated team.
We'd be talking about Scottie Pippen alot different had he and the bulls won the championship without Jordan. Imagine if pippen had won in 94, 99, and 2000! An unfortunate missed call from the ref likely changed pippen's legacy, but make no mistake, he was the clear no. 2 during the 90s.
IT WAS A FOUL. !!!!!!! WATCH THE DAMN CLIP CLOSELY PIP HIT HIS ARM..... YES AFTER THE SHOT WAS RELEASED BUT THE BULLS WERE IN THE PENALTY.....DAVIS WAS GOING TO THE LINE EITHER WAY
Paradoxically, even though Jordan was not part of this Bulls season, I think this was the most important game of his career. It determined Jordan's legacy as the main factor behind Bulls success and ability to win championships. I wish they would have won. Maybe Pippen would get credit he deserves.
It's a shame cause with mj the 94 bulls may have been the best version of the bulls we ever saw...bj pippen grant were at their peak and scott was blossoming into a solid big...give them mj and that's a scary 5 man lineup to face plus toni off the bench and kerr....
If pippen takes the bulls to the finals I think it destroys the narrative and mystique of Jordan. His team was well put together and well coached. Jordan isn't the goat but the bulls sure were.
They played this season without Jordan and took the Knicks (that almost won the title) to 7 games. That's incredible. If Pippen had left the Bulls and Jordan had remained on that team they would not have beaten the Knicks either. Shows you how good the Bulls were.
Kukoc was the xfactor in this series. if not for his shot, there would be no game 7 as they were about to go down 0-2. Pippen and Bron had the same mentality, pass the ball first but lacks the closer gene
No....when Pippen selfishly delayed his surgery and was out for virtually the 1st half of the 1997/1998....Jordan demanded his team to play at a higher level. The biggest x-factor was Dennis Rodman who put up double digit scoring while gobbling up rebounds. The result was the Bulls going from being a .500 team to a team that was in the mix for the Central Division lead.
I’m sick of hearing about the phantom foul. Pippen hit Davis’ forearm after the ball left his hands. There was clear contact. Davis would’ve missed the shot even if there was no contact, but that’s not the issue.
