Here because Curry will move past Ray Allen in his next game vs. the Knicks. Such a beauty to relive this prestigious moment for Allen. I hope he'll be there when Curry breaks his record. Lakers fan here.
My dad made me watch this game with him on tv and told me that such moments rarely happen in your lifetime. I was a kid. Today I was at MSG with my dad watching Curry break the record. I looked at my dad and said "remember these moments happen rarely in your lifetime." Both of us laughed.
Ray broke Reggie's record with Reggie and his mom in attendance, playing against the Celtics greatest rivals, with Kobe on the floor. Man this was such an epic moment
Coming back to this video after Steph curry beating Ray Allen’s three point record and holds the most threes in nba history in the leader board.I don’t think there will be any other shooter close to curry. And I don’t think no one will beat his three point record depending on how much he has after he retires from the game of basketball. He really changed peoples lives and inspired kids and others. He changed the game of basketball 🏀 forever.thank you Curry.
@@psychicghosty8616 he's talking about the 3pt FG including playoffs and regular season record that Steph broke earlier, regular season record still belongs to Ray
Watching Ray Allen hugging Reggie Miller in 2011 as he passes him for all time 3’s and now watching Steph Curry hugging Ray Allen as he breaks the record in 2021 is so amazing to witness
As a Celtics fan, I grew up idolizing Ray Allen. So much so that I've remembered the number 2,561 after all these years. It was special to see Steph hit that milestone tonight. Next stop: 2,974. Destination: the Hall of Fame. Allen broke my heart when he jumped ship for the Heat. I'm looking forward to seeing Steph take the crown.
I am a Celtics fan and I think Allen is a good man that is brave for going to a team that is the rival from the celtics. He still thinks of Garnett of a friend. Garnett is stupid for not being a friend to Allen, as he was such a hard working and a good friend. I think Garnett should be like Peirce and just be friends with him again. Also I am idolizing Ray allen
@@kingpotato2919 You make a good point. I guess I was more disappointed with the whole situation, and Ray was the easiest one to blame at the time. I wish things ended with at least one more ring... 08 came and went in a blur, and little did we know 13 years later we'd still be waiting for the next one. We could certainly use a Ray-esque guy right now, that's for sure
Wow, I didn't realize until now how similar Curry and Allen's circumstances were when they broke this record. Allen only needed 2 to break it, same as Curry, and he did it on a nationally-televised game on TNT, same as Curry (assuming Curry hits two tonight)
the fact that steve kerr witness it both ray allen and steph curry is amazing from commentating it to being the coach of the new record holder and the greatest shooter of all time congratulations SC30!!
It’s the Kobe dap for me. Lakers vs Celtics, Reggie in attendance with Kobe and Ray being apart of arguably the greatest draft class of all time. You can’t write a better moment
Here cus Curry gon pass Ray 2nite in MSG… also remembered watchin dis game live. Die Hard Laker fan … jus love how Ma Mans Bean stopped & put da mentality aside for a moment jus to congratulate em. A tru 🐐. Love it. Love da moment these 2 LEGENDS shared 🖤🖤.
Throwback, Reggie’s comment on ray showed how great he was and now Ray, Reggie shared the moment at MSG for Steph…that’s dope! Three greatness…NBA is just amazing
This beautiful game really has a way of making you cry tears of joy at certain moments. Looking back at this and also at Reggie Miller's final game I feel what those generations felt watching Steph Curry break Allen's record. Beautiful game, so glad Allen and Miller were there to witness and congratulate Steph's milestone as the NBA's new 3 Point King!
It's poetic that Reggie is there for both games. It's also amazing that Steve Kerr witnessed Ray and Steph beating those records. All time highest 3fg %
I'm was doing research looking for this moment, & now seeing everybody here was there last night except Marv Albert, & I had just commented on another video he was the only thing would of made Curry night better for me as a fan to hear him announce the game, WOW!!! Imagine being a part of a magical moment doing your job multiple times 😯
I think this is a testament to how important the 3 pt shot is… when ray broke reggies record they didn’t even pause the game… in his home court But when Steph broke rays record the whole arena paused… in the garden lol
@@spider-man120 Its common sense to guard the paint in a fast break during those times. Now shooting 3s while in the fastbreak is not rare, and one last thing... Knowing how competitive Kobe was, he didn't let Ray shoot it, it's just it's Ray Allen, he'll shoot it. If it was any other player, they would drive to the basket and go for a layup or a pass
There's a child right now. Shooting 2000 jumpers a day. Not just a thousand. I'm telling you, around 2040-2050 that child is going to be hugging Steph Curry like this too. Human possibilities are endless.
It’s crazy they both need 1 to tie and 2 for the record. Ray, Reggie, Spike and I’m sure everybody and they mama gonna be in attendance. Its gonna be epic.
I’m posting this on December 14th, 2021, 14 hours before Curry plays the Knicks to break Rays record because I just know that people will be coming back to this vid once Rays record is broken
I saw this live I remember this game like it was yesterday. I was 19 and my big brotha was 26 and he just got me the 2k11 crazy how time flys I’m 30 now.
Remember this. Step did not join the league going off for like 10 threes a game. It took a few seasons for coaches to trust his skills. The kids now are going to join the league jacking up 10 threes a game. Steps record will be broken by another gunner who can fire away like Step. Atlanta pg is a good example
Reliving this moment after watching Stephen Curry broke Ray Allen's record. There men are remarkable people in their gracious congratulation and celebration of the new record breakers.
I just love the subtle acknowledgment between Ray and Kob. They came in together in 96, had a finals rivalry and were there together when Ray broke the record.
The games where Allen and Curry broke the record were both televised on TNT, and Miller - who was also the leader in all-time 3PT, and also analyst for NBA on TNT for both games - witnessed them.
