Check out this montage of every goal from the San Jose Sharks' amazing run to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in team history in their 25th season.
As a die-hard Sharks fan, this Playoff was the most exciting and heartbreaking I've ever watch. The Pavs, Jumbo Joe, Patty, Burnsy will never lift the cup above their heads in teal
Exactly even that game 7 against Vegas was epic it brought these 2016 vibes but to end in also a heartbreak to the blues…. Sucks now because we might not even see the playoffs for another few years😢
Those 2010-19 Sharks couldn't get over the hump. 2016 and 2019 were their best chances because they had deep chemistry and good depth under Peter DeBoer. 2019 was the best Sharks team to skate the ice without Patrick Marleau, and what killed them in that playoffs was bad bounces and injuries. 😥
I think Jones falling apart was the dagger to this era of Sharks fandom. You could always count on Nabokov and to a lesser extent even Niemi. But Jones after 2017 was barely league average
@@ianmillerdevilsfan1223 Small correction, it was after 2018. In the 17-18 season Jones was fantastic. In 18-19 the Sharks would have been hands down #2 behind Tampa if they had even mediocre goaltending, but Jones was below mediocre that season until the playoffs.
The team from 2019 imo was better just injuries in the WCF against the Blues ended our season if we were healthy and had Pavs Hertl and EK65 in Game 6 we would have won forced a game 7 and won that too and ultimately would have beaten the Bruins we were the better team that year should have been us 2016 Pens were better
No matter how many times I see The Sharks in The Playoffs and the Finals I Do Believe They Will Have a Good Chance Of Winning The Stanley Cup Finals in The Future 😊
@@wingsfan3124 I think without a doubt they would have. A tampa team without Stamkos or Bishop wouldn’t have stood a chance imo. I think they just matched up better against Pittsburgh and that’s why they took them to 7.
2016 will always hold a special place in my heart. I hope that we can bottom out and get Matthew Savoie in the upcoming draft so that we can get back to being cup contenders. This franchise has had too many chances to keep coming up short.
Two wins short of a Stanley Cup Championship. That was rough but I remember back being a Golden Seals fan. I loved the Seals but that team never even had one winning season. I love ice hockey and I love our Sharks. Good times are coming. Soon I hope.
I fucking sat in my car and cried for THIS TEAM night in and night out. im not lying. all ican think now is god its gunna take us forever to get back here 😂
Even though we lost in the Finals this really was a magical run. In the mid 2000s and early 2010s the Sharks always had what was considered a Stanley Cup type roster and could never make it. Then this team makes a run out of the blue, nearly winning three series when they were the road team.
Such an amazing run. The future is bright for the Sharks now, with the way things are going I think future teams will be able to finish what this group started.
I remember at my middle school in Concord (1 hr away from SJ) how everyone was donning the teal during the 2016 playoffs, everyone from a school where basketball dominated all other sports. Everyone was into hockey during this time, even my friends in Walnut Creek, who have never held a hockey stick before, began to follow the San Jose sharks almost religiously during the 2016 playoffs. Now, although they still cheer for the team, the Sharks are the basement's basement.
God I miss Jumbo's passes 15:14 is a good example of how crisp could make them and how easy he made it look. They way he twirls his stick after is ice cold lmao
Sharks got their revenge on the kings just two years later in the first round once again after they blow a 3 to 0 lead in 2014. The first round, this win, feel sweet
Still to this day i'll never forget that final. This sharks team was unbelievable. I'm also a bruins fan and I know what pain feels like. Sidney Crosby jump off a bridge you coward.
I like the part where the sharks score a goal. All jokes aside, it really sucks that we couldn't just pull through for 4 more games. Ah well, hopefully this rebuild goes well and we can go back to glory but actually win it this time, GO SHARKS GO!
I'm from Iowa and I never knew there was a sharks team until 2016. I was 10 at the time and saw the goalies mask and how well they were doing and instantly fell in love with the team. The 2019 series loss against the blues really ticked me off because our book fair had blues posters and I that whole week I passed it I would say "imma burn this school down, seriously no need to rub it in my face"😂
2:11 This was also the Kings' most recent playoff win Also the WCF and the SCF were pretty much the exact opposite from San Jose's run and St Louis' run. In 2016, the Sharks win against the Blues in 6, only to lose to a team in black and gold in the SCF. In 2019, the Blues win against the Sharks in 6, and go on to win against a team in black and gold in the SCF.
6 years later and it still bothers me that my team made to the Stanley cup finals and they lose to the penguins and you know what made it worse what was the real salt in the wound for me Pittsburgh was my big brothers team and since then he has held that over me smirked and smiled about it and bragged to me about and since then my team hasn’t been able to make it to the cup finals they came close on a couple of occasions In 2004 they made it to the conference finals against Calgary but lost In 2010 they came toe to toe with Chicago only for them to advance to the Stanley cup In 2011 they went up against Vancouver in the conference finals and then they pulled the rug out from under us and went on to face Boston for the cup And In 2019 St. Louis got their revenge from 2016 went on beat Boston and won the cup It’s clear they’re capable of getting to the cup final it’s just trip on their way to the finish line or just come in last place when fighting for the cup just once it would be nice to see San Jose win a cup no instead I had see Pittsburgh win back to back and Chicago win 3 cups in the early 2010’s that sh🐬t was irritating and I absolutely hated Chicago in the early 2010’s but yeah I just want San Jose to win a cup already why is it so hard
Would have been nice to have a proper goaltender when we were a pretty good team. Alas we were stuck with Jones. Nabokov and Niemi weren't much better in the playoffs though.
Didn't realize how often Rinne embellished contact from Sharks players. He should have been more focused on making saves rather than looking for the contact.
That team was so good they just never got lucky I’d say 2019 they should have beaten the pathetic blues but lmao most forgettable winner in nhl history 😂
@@DJDevvin Anyone can be a fan and shit talk. Not just anyone can be in the nhl and even fewer can win the cup. You're nothing compared to these players. Relax with the CAPS bud.
Uhhh. Each series went as follows vs LA - Sharks in 5 vs NSH - Sharks in 7 vs STL - Sharks in 6 All the teams they played up to the cup final won at least one game against them. Not sure why you had to comment that.... the sharks were a good team that year, even though they didn't win the cup
