Thrown OFF our PLANE! Flight cancelled as we're SAT ON IT! Tenerife Travel Day | TUI vs Wizz Air!

Don't fly with them.. Take my advice and go to Turkey with a reliable airline.. You'll have so much more fun in Alanya. .

Wizz air cancelled my flight on 2d of June, after providing us with boarding possess and taking our luggage. No explanation, whatsoever. They kept us in the gate for an hour, we were waiting for the wizz air representative but no one showed up. Will try to get my money back for the flight and for the hotel as it was too late to cancel. Still waiting for the reply from wizz about refund and compensation..... Will never fly or recoment wizz air

I absolutely hate wizzair. They charged me double because it said that the payment failed and to try again. It took double the money and I was left with two tickets, and cancellation was made difficult and non refundable. Luckily I have a lot of flights this year so I was able to rebook to another date. And the prices go up every time. I prefer easyjet/tui/jet2/ryanair by far

You are quite right.. I gave up on them too.. Had an awful experience with them to Gran Canaria. .had to pay extra for everything on the plane and at the holiday bungalow .. had to put coins in a slot to get the TV and Air conditioning on.. and on the aircraft , pay extra if you want a pillow for your head.. Gone are the good old days of Britannia Airways and Thompson that used to be good.. Dan Air were first class compared to TUI..

Thanks so much! Fortunately we're staying in a friend's apartment, so there was no issue with our accommodation, but everyone on the flight who had booked accommodation with TUI did have their accommodation cancelled along with the flight 😢

Yeah, if the second flight had also been cancelled we would have cut our losses and written off the whole holiday, but luckily we're here now having a great time 🙂 - Joe

We actually don't own a car, but we were fortunate enough to get a lift from my mum on both days. I'm not sure what would have happened in regards to parking I'm sorry - Joe

They told us it was a technical fault with the plane, but a quick search online reveals that TUI are saying this to everyone. All of TUI's planes can't have technical faults - it's too much of a coincidence. Also the plane had just flown in from Alicante with no issues. So TUI were lying to our faces. If there was actually a fault with a plane, we certainly would not want to fly on it. - Joe

Planes can fly in from somewhere perfectly fine you know. When on the ground they are required to be checked by ground/engineering teams before being allowed to fly again. It’s extremely possible for an issue to be found and happens on a daily basis

The planes are checked again by an engineer from Tui, by one of the pilots themselves, the emergency equipment like medical kits and life jackets are checked by the flight attendants between every flight as well. And if that wasn’t enough, even people like the cleaners, baggage handlers and other support staff are actively encouraged to look for anything that “doesn’t seem right” and report it. That being said, the lack of staff in just about every area in aviation is no joke. I’m three weeks in at my new job on ground crew and the sheer amount of chaos due to the shortage of staff and the number of us on temporary passes where we need to be escorted at all times because the security background checks aren’t complete yet, is astounding. I’ve worked in an NHS hospital up until about six months into the pandemic and what the aviation industry is going through now is on par with the worst of the winter pressure NHS hospitals go through every winter.

Yeah I think it'll be very unlikely that we'll ever use them again either. I think a lot of people are feeling the same, as we had an email yesterday from the CEO saying our £200 TUI voucher each has been doubled. They're really scared they've lost all their customers. - Joe

I can’t really blame you. As someone working on the ground crew at one of the airports my first three weeks have been an exercise in total chaos!

Too true.. I had a terrible time last year with them.. Will never use TUI again.. Had to pat extra for everything on the plane and at the TUI holiday bungalows .. coins in a slot if you wanted Air Conditioning or use of an old TV. Pay extra on the plane for a pillow for your head.. Gone are the good old days of Britannia and Dan Air.. but this year had a nice flight to Alanya Turkey with Pegasus Airlines and a super holiday in Alanya - Antalya

I’m on ground crew in another airport and I’ve been truly taken aback by the absolute chaos my first three years have been.

It all depends if you have a condition and you feel saver wearing one it’s up to the person if they want to wear it still

it's actually common curtesy in many countries to wear masks when you're sick or if you're worried about getting sick. it doesn't have to be covid related. Not saying that's what they're doing, but it's not like it's weird.

We just wanted to play it extra cautious and reduce the risk of us catching any bugs during the travelling as we didn't want getting ill to ruin the beginning of our holiday. I'm not sure if it was mandatory in the airport but Wizz Air definitely enforced everyone to wear masks during the flight that did take off. - Joe
