Thrunite Shootout-TC12V2 VS TC15 - Who wins?

Thanks for review! I have TC15 which is my favorite EDC light. It's not perfect but so close the perfect light I have experienced so far. One important factor is the excellent user interface which Thrunite uses with I think all of the newer models. I want to explain why I don't agree with you about that TC12 has better mode spacing than TC15. In my opinion the difference between memorised modes should be at least 3 times, and preferable 4-5 times. TC12 has memory of all modes except from strobe. The step from mid to high and from high to high is very similar: slightly more than 2,3 times. In many cases the eyes are not able to determine the lumen output very good, especially during different lighting conditions and depending on if the eyes are more or less dark adapted. Because you now and then may not be sure what level you used last time you will now and then ask yourself: "hmm, is it mid or high?". Or: "is it high or turbo?". 2,3 times is not huge difference for the eyes. TC15 has larger gap between mid and high: 250-1050lm. That's an increase of 4,2 times. Here you can much easier(I would say clearly) distinguish between mid and high mode, at least when you have used the light for a while. While turbo is not more than 2,2 times brighter than high mode it doesn't matter with TC15: turbo is only activated by a double click! You simply cannot put on turbo by mistake. I find this so excellent, and because of a lot of "struggling"(more or less compulsively cycling through the modes to be sure I have the right level) with flashlights with memory and too close gap between the brightnesses I LOVE the user interface of TC15. The user interface with memory of the regular modes(and enough large gap for the eyes to distinguish between them) and the extreme levels firefly and turbo instead having direct access is BRILLIANT. From off always access to firefly without risking to put on a bright mode. And from any mode or from off having direct access to turbo, but never accidently. So great!

Tc15 is one of my favorite lights. It surprised me when I got it.

i would buy both just like you did, tc12 is more versatile given it can act as a hat lamp by switching the center piece different direction , and it's more of a need to have item in survival situation given if you stored quality cr123 batteries , i mean what you gonna do with tc15 when SHTF and no power in the outlet? so TC15 is a want to have item in this regard

Tc15 has the better battery, best is not rated by mah but how much amps it can release, which usually means slight lower mha

I like the TC15, I use mostly low med and high and it fills most needs.
