I've been a police officer for 22+ years and without a doubt the TN12 (which my wife got me for Christmas years ago) is the best flash light I've ever owned.
I've had my TN12 for 3 years now, and I have no inclination to replace it any time soon. It's been 100 percent reliable. After the belt holster for it died, I stuck it in my pants pocket and never looked back. With the tail cap switch I don't have to worry about it accidentally powering on in my pocket, which could be a concern with the TC15. Thank you for your honest review.
TC15 is my favorite Thrunite. One advantage with it compared to older models is that the three regular modes are included in the memory cycle while firefly and turbo instead have shortcut. This means you can use it as a three mode light and choose an allround mode while always have access to firefly and turbo, and that with the chosen allround mode still achievable with a short click. This user interface is the best at the market and a main factor that Thrunite is my favorite brand.
I carry the TN12 as my edc. I wouldn't change it out. The only minor complaint I have is the clip was loose. I had to tighten it with pliers. No big deal. I have other thrunite lights but this new one you reviewed seems like a one off lower quality which is a shame. Thank you for this review!
My catapult v2 slipped out of my hand from the lanyard loop and landed on concrete bezel first. And.... it got stuck on firefly mode basically. Only fell from just above knee height on the first fall of its life. I was bummed out. Had to do a warranty exchange. Had to pay shipping that sucked and then it took them over a week after it arriving there and 3 emails for them to let me know they were sending out a new one. Wasn't super impressed with the customer service. I really do like the catapult v6, but now i am worried about it falling again. So idk. It is a beast light but now I'm not sure durability is really as on par as they claim. That and the button is hard to find by feel sometimes. Do wish it had a tail cap switch. That would at least make operation of the button faster in the dark.
Hey BC, thanks for all the flashlight reviews. How about reviewing that odd looking " Hydra-Light " flashlight that runs on water? That seems like an interesting survival light. Of course Bear Grylls will want to run his using his own urine. And oh yeah......be sure to run over it with the Deuce haha.
Hmm. The lens may have been a dud. It may have been alrefy slughtly cracked from the factory. I refuse to believe that little drop would blow up that lens like that!
You refuse to believe what actually happened? Lenses break, any glass lens can and will break if abused enough. This one could not take as much is all. Now with that said I'm willing to give it a chance as the lens could have very well had a flaw in it, or even a small scrap of metal stuck under lens and light housing. Case in point, vehicle windows are arguably tough, you can hit it with a hammer and not break, throw a rock and it can take it. Now get a tiny piece of ceramic like that from a spark plug no bigger the the lead portion of a sharpened pencil, throw it at window and pop goes that window.
