3:29 they're heavy not because of lots of metal but because there's a big heavy ballast box under the foot rest. The pedal set is mostly plastic with aluminium pedal arms and metal pedal faces. Barry Rowland on sim racing garage took this pedal set apart.
"high-range pedals..." ... "real professional tool"... a bit exaggerated isn't it? It's more like mid-level. next levels of pedals would be Fanatec CSP v3 (high mid-level), then HE Sprint (entry of high-level), then HE Ultimate (high level) or HPP etc, then Simtag Tilton 600 hydraulic and similar pedals (pro level). But then we're talking about prices where it's gonna be hard to justify the expenses to a wife or so :-D If I was still a beginner in the simracing world and I had 200€ to invest in pedals, I would choose the T-LCM before the Fanatec Elite LC Pedals, they look more solid. The magnetic Hall sensors are not endlessly reliable. The Hall sensor in my TH8A shifter gave up working properly after 2 years.
I love driving road cars so if I was minted I would get clubsport V3's cause the actual biting point feeling in the clutch is what I've been missing. Only problem is I'd be pairing them with a G920. Yeah.
TM looks more flexy and wobbly than the CSL Elites at the hinges and the stops. In both sets the weak link is plastic used in the throttle and clutch. For the TMs it's the plastic in the base+pivot holes, the source of the flex. In the Fanatecs, the plastic is in the gears used for potentiometers, which are matched with metal gears in the levers which causes wear and play in the plastic gears after less than a year of use. The potentiometers can be easily replaced at a cost of $10 each. The plastic TM base? You will need a whole new unit when it cracks or the plastic pivot holes get worn open.
@W Richardson I've been asking around, seeing multiple reviews on this pedal and people are having positive impressions on the TLCM. I guess I'll go get one as an upgrade
@@STANDARD_POTATO Yeah it's possible that the the flex in the plastic base will act like a impact buffer to dampen the stress on the plastic pivot holes. In which case it could last a while under normal use. We'll know by next year if the plastic base turns out to be a significant weak point.
STANDARD POTATO i’ve been wondering the same thing and honestly can’t decide. i know both would be an upgrade from my standard T3PAs but i’ve heard both this and the csl elites are good options
great video! Quick English tip. Instead of saying your left leg will get tired in few time. You would instead want to say your left leg will get tired quickly
11:45 Well, technically you can DIY a vertical mount with some bookshelf brackets and some plywood/metal and a nice carpet and slide the pedals in it... It is possible with the T3PA so why not try with the T-LCM.
Main problem would be the mode. The t3pa pros have a certain frimware signal built into them that tells the wheel that you can change the pedal mode which will flip the clutch and gas pedals around.
best pedals on the market? ''Wow, i never seen something that solid'' ...really?? U gotta be honest when u review stuff to keep it real, sure it looks great and all but im sure it cant even compete with v3's. not to mension heusinkveld, cst, and other custom pedal sets. Not to bash at all, hope u take it well. your chanel is awsome!!
Those are all the pedals I tested in my sim-racer career: -G27 Pedals -G29 Pedals -T3PA -T3PA pro -Feel VR pedals (load cell) -Fanatec Pedals LC (load cell) After testing all these pedals so, yes, I never seen something that solid. I accept critics but I honestly think my sentence is legit. ^^ Heusinkveld pedals cost 700€. They're a total different range, but we must remember just because something is more expensive, doesn't mean it's more reliable.
@@viperconcept would be nice to see a direct comparison between the Fanatec CSL Elites, in particular a comparison of the flex and plastic component weak spots of the throttle and clutch on each.
@@viperconcept these are junk. 90-95% plastic. Thin metal heel plate is junk. Only metal on them is the pedals, pedal arms and 1 metal pin holding each pedal to the plastic base.
I have a few concerns as a person looking to upgrade from the T3PA pedals. I'm not sure if I see this incorrectly but to me, the T3PA pro looks to be constructed mostly of metal. It looks like the T-LCM kit has a large section of its base construction to be made of plastic(I could be wrong here but it looks like plastic in the video). Also, the T3PA Pro offers the option to not have the pedals floor mounted.
Thanks for the fast review Viper! I was really wondering how this new pedal set was going, especially in the braking department. Not only for personal use, but also because these are gonna be used in the next FIA World Tour Events on GTSport
Can’t remember where I heard it.. but apparently the considerable weight comes from thrustmasters use of actual sand to increase weight. Also.. I own the TLCM pedals, and find them competent enough for my needs. The sand is just a little disappointing.
I was thinking about going Fanatec but now that Thrustmaster has load cell pedals should I buy the pedals and stick with t300 or is Fanatec just that much more worth it?
I am not trying to troll this review just want people to understand that there is a large sim equipment world out there. I only want to say that calling the Thrustmaster pedals the best on the market is a pretty large statement.Granted they may be a upgrade than most out of the box wheel combo set out of the box.Calling them the best on the market would be arguable. Now maybe at this price point they my live up to that statement..Granted not everyone can spend $1000.00 on a set of pedals.Just some people may not even realize there are many companies that make some very high quality precision pedals.I can promise when you start to spend more on equipment you will see huge differences in price compared to product.Example my direct drive wheel makes my G27 feel like a toy.Now high dollar will not make you faster.I will say though on these pedals the load cell brake will be the one thing that can help your track times more than anything you could purchase,be it a new pedal set or a brake mod for your existing pedal set.Load cell is the only way to go.
Would it be possible to change the spring on the Clutch and gaz pedal? With custom made spring? Cause I plan to use those pedal inverted and also sometime for other purpose than car driving, where identical clutch and gaz pedal would be better. Thanks.
My loadcell on this pedal set is fucked rip, I got warranty for it at my local micro center but with all the events going on who knows when they'll get some in stock. The sensor still works but the wiring makes the cell not recognize input? Any help? Not replies from support yet
Viper can you confirm of the gas and clutch feel the same? I want to use these for racing and as rudder pedals in flight sims. Do you think that can work?
Hello i just buy the trustmaster ts xw with this pedal ans its my first wheel, what do you recommanded for the brake settings for beginner (hard or smooth brake pedal) ? Do you use the brack pedal we see on this video ? ( like grey/black springs) Thanks .. very good video
These look incredible and I would get them immediately, except I’m a g29 owner and won’t be able to use them unless I use the PC exclusively. Thanks for the review Viper.
@@souldry I'm not sure these pedals are supported atm (check the Drivehub website for info), but I use Fanatec CSL Elite pedals with load cell and G29 rim on Ps4. Works perfectly.
John van de Pol I checked out the site. What a great piece of hardware. Thanks for letting me know. I have absolutely no problems with the g29 wheel and shifter, the pedals aren’t really bad either, it’s just that the brake pedal has so little travel distance. Load cell is a lot more preferable. It’s great that I don’t have to get an entirely new set up. I’m sure they’ll have the firmware for these pedals eventually, but the csl elite is the same price.
@@souldry Sure, no problem! The G29 is fine indeed, but the pedals where lacking for me as well. Decent (I did some mods, build a frame so I could use them inverted etc.) but nowhere near the CSL Elite pedals. The travel is alot better, the load cell makes you more consistent and for me the throttle pedal made alot of difference as well. More travel so easier to gradually dose the input. I bought it exclusively for PS4 and I was surprised how easily the Drive Hub works. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
The way you press down all three pedals with your bare hands without any difficulty tells me everything I need to know about these pedals. Please tell me how Thrustmaster is entering the "high-range-pedals" market with these pedals? 199.- makes them the cheapest LC pedals on the market! Maybe these pedals are an upgrade for a Thrustmaster console racer, but high-end, really?!?
I am wondering, once I made the initial installation and updates on the pedals and my T300 on a PC, will the pedals also work on a PS3 (when plugged in via RJ12)?
hi i plunged it into my win 10 pc, but can not calibrate it, i looked in device manager and there is no driver for "sim pedals" windows update does not find a driver
TLCM , Brakeforce Settings help. Hi, I have set Brakeforce at 0 on tlcm. But i still find it too hard to get desired braking. i would prefer for it to be easier than 0 to get 100% braking. Is there a way to reduce this below 0 or change any other setting, so i have to press the brake with lesser pressure/force to get up to 100% braking....? Thanks.
I would set the maximum range of the clutch to half way so you don’t have to push fully. I would use the white brake spring if I had them for carpet use.
how is it in comparison with the fanatec CSL Elite load cell,, i can see the quality seems better here but idk is it really in reality and is it a better investment cuz fanatec is abit more expensive as usual and i would really like to upgrade my G29 Pedals
I conclude the T-LCM to be the entry level for using load cell brakes, especially if your current pedals are of Thrustmaster's stuff. G29's pedals are worth a debate however; I heard of load cell mods for them as an alternative.
While the price point does point to this being entry level, the actual load cell used In these pedals is better than the one that comes with the entry level fanatec ones. There's no real point upgrading the g29 pedals since buying the load cell for the pedals is half the price of a new TLCM pedal set and you're getting much stronger pedals that you need for the new forces applied.
"Great amount of steel in the base" is not true. The biggest contributing materials are plastic and a big bag of concrete and the back of the pedal is cast aluminium. (Not judging the quality, just correcting)
hmm, i like the sound of a stiff spring for the clutch, but my left knee doesnt. i hope it isnt too stiff. irl cars usually are and the knee cap doesnt like it, pops slightly in and out of its slot. i dont know why, it sucks.
If you want to use the clutch pedal and the H-shifter, yes. If you think you're going to use just the sequential transmission with paddles, take the Thrustmaster T-150 (basically the same price target of the G29).
@@viperconcept i went to a site called skroutz and i saw 3 varietions of the t150. The t150 rs pro, the t150 Ferrari force feedback and the t150 force feedback. Which one do you have??? Also I tried to find the shifter for it and I can't find it anywhere. Also do you have Instagram so i can send you my setup???
Metal pins hold the aluminum pedal levers in a plastic holes causing the whole thing to flex. That's where the "squishy-ness" comes from. It's likely that the plastic holes the pins go through will widen over time from friction and stress. Especially given how easily the base deforms under pressure. Expect to replace the whole assembly every 1-2 years. Typical thrustmaster quality.
pls check this answer from viperconcept to another comment "It depends on the steering wheel you're using. For example: - When I was using the T-LCM with my T500, I had to connect the pedals via usb to the pc. - For the T-GT, I connected the pedals directly to the steering wheel (after a little software update for the steering wheel)." and then pls check the time 0:55 in the video. You can see that you can use it on PS4 with the T-GT, T300 RS and T150 RS. That means, those three can be conencted via wheel . The rest of the wheels will only work on pc via direct USb Connection to PC. I hope that'll help you. I hat to start my PC to write this all down and answer your question. :D

Guess this pedal is a win win situation for me... I want a load cell pedal but fanatec or other sim pedals are way too expensive for me. So if this pedal comes to the market it will be the best mid field sim pedal!!! IMO
@@aracing100 I know Fanatec are compatible on consoles. They wouldn't say that, unless you was unclear with your question or the person on the phone had no knowledge on the matter.
@@thijsazerty692 i wouldn t recommend truthmaster products because most of the times are unreliable and need a lot of manteinance,i would recommend more the fanatec clubsport pro V3 pedals, they are pretty much the best pedals you can find on the market, and also a fanatec wheel its a very good option
@@thesucker2002 BS => fanatec also has a bad rep with their durability. And their club sports aren't the best by far. There are way better options IF you wanna spend 'some' more money. I've recommended the TS serie because it has improved design on the cooling than the t300/500 wheels (don't buy those because of that)
These pedals are just a tier above the T3PA pedals. Good budget pedals but is still not not better than Fanatecs V3 pedals and are not even comparable to pedals like Heusinkveld. Maybe change your thumbnail video caption to.. Best Budget Pedals In The Market?
budget+realistic, imho, it´s hard to get since every cheap stuff is belt-driven, depends on your budget, every € range has 1 "best price for buck" set of wheel+pedals.. example: g29, TM t300, then the t500rs...if the budget is higher id go for the cheapest DD wheel, i think?, atm, the Feel VR.
