This is the best, honest review I've seen in the past week checking alot of T128, T248, G29/920, G923 reviews out there. Congrats for keeping it real, detailed, and for everyone, begginers, casuals and elites :) Keep it up! Just ordered it today on Amazon for 129euros on BF sale. Haven't played a driving game since MW2 more then a decade ago, but I used to play all of them arcade driving back then. Was having an ich for a wheel feeling, never used one, and this sale price actually made me order it since at that price, for me, it seems best budget wheel with 900 degrees rotation and okish FFB.
The reviewer on wheels bare none . Coming from controller to T128 feels awesome because you no no different which all reviewers fail to acknowledge because they have forgotten when they first started ,it passes me of ! Well done 👏
Great in depth review as usual. As you said, the product is ok if you're a new to simracing or on a budget. What's impressive though is the silence of the FF, that's a really good point for this wheel. Maybe a driver update will fix the differences in feeling between games.
This is the only review that people need to watch for this wheel. Thank you for the excellent video and demonstrating it on 2 different games. I haven't used any high end racing wheels, but your thoughts seem similar to my impressions of the T128. If you want to drive with a wheel, but are on a tight budget, this will do the job, but you won't be beating many times set by high end equipment. For the price, it's a nice piece of kit honestly.
The interior is quite well thought out and tightly build, very nice. Man, can't wait for your review of the new T818 and Logitech G Pro! Sim Racing Garage is the real deal!
@@awsomestleaperd78 Even the T248 will not replace the T300. It has no ability to switch out the steering wheel as well as it's too slow in rotational speed when compared to the T300 so you have "throw" the steering wheel yourself when you want to drift or do a quick reaction
@@Sithhy Honestly the replaceable steering wheel part is not important with thrustmaster. I doubt theres many people buying thrustmasters rims when they have a t300, they would upgrade the wheelbase first. However, the speed thing definitely seems of concern
Too bad they didn't add at least a slight rubber grip/wrap like the t150/tmx has around the hand position areas. But yeah, obvious where they spent the money and where they cut the corners to hit the low price point target. But exactly for that target market, it really doesn't seem that bad.
Especially the entry/cheap wheels you are coming at it from a Racing Car Simulator, where the rumble strips are important, feeling is winning, but many casual gamers or those JUST starting with FFB run driving games, not simulators. Not merely Forza, but three other options may well work differently and be a bigger draw for people buying those wheels, and not "needing" to get off their controller/keyboard. Euro Truck Simulator 2/American Truck simulator (same engine), Snow Runner and Farming Simulator 22. The first is on sale and merely the base game gets you most of the way there. It is all about feeling some feedback when you are losing direction or contact, if the FFB informs, then to an extent it is working. Snow Runner is slow and based on offroad, poor traction, and the FFB is about helping you find the grip that takes you up (or safely down) a slope. If FFB helps you find that route, it is working. Farm Sim 22 only recently got FFB abilities, and as a more recent release it is not cheap either. FFB is more about steering safely (you're mostly in a tractor on "farmland" or roads). FS22 also has a problem that you need a lot more buttons to press and FFB isn't a selling point for the game, using a tractor IS. All those games are not so much racing simulators, not even racing GAMES (even silly gaming game types like Wipeout or whatever), but is a large market that might do with merely a cheaper option because the game isn't delivering the force feedback that makes a racing game so going a grand worth of direct drive kit is almost wasted compared to even rubber band systems for that type, but COULD lead to trying other, more racing, games because they found *a* difference using FFB on those, and other games reward better, but more expensive, alternatives, by needing more feed back to the person via their wheel whilst the games I suggested have a lower need and a lower reward (for example, you are not competing with other humans, so "better wheel" doesn't mean "win against someone trying to get ahead of you").
So this one is around 200USD and the older Logitech G29 goes on sale for 200 bucks which is the better bet? The logitech is older design but still new.
Which one should be preferred between Logitech G29 and Thrustmaster T128? Material quality and clutch will not affect my decision. What I'm curious about is FFB and steering feel. The T128 has a hybrid system, the G29 has a fully geared system, so I'm closer to the T128 but haven't decided yet.

I think it's only if the game supports it. My lights flash on start up so they obviously work but I'm playing Dirt 2.0 and WRC 9 and they don't do anything..
@@martynpope4078 I‘m playing them too! But also in Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2 it does not work. I think, there’s a not right placed cable from the transport.🤷🏼♂️ or maybe it does just work with PC.

hi... I need help with this Thrustmaster T128P PS5 steering wheel, I want to buy it for my nephew ,I think it will be difficult for him to change gears on the steering wheel. Is it possible not to use the gears on the steering wheel? set it to be an automatic gear? Thank you very much.
T128 is a better build and well thought out wheel it seems. Some people are disappointed by the break and accelerator but even though it's small, it will last more compared to the older one.
Question. For those who use the DD wheel at 15Nm and up, are they trying to get the feeling of no power steering (or v minimal) in race car setting? If one is driving road cars like in AC, is there need to dial up the torque to beyond 5nM?
That's a great question. For ACC I use a 17nm wheel at 100% in drivers, only 35% in game, and I'm not sure if have something set wrong, but it still clips under certain circumstances, so a higher power wheel would be good. So I imagine that is running about 6nm in reality? It's a nice weight, giving good weight and detail. You could have heavier steering for fun, but I doubt most would run it much higher for actual racing. So there is a difference between the general weight you're feeling, and the headroom the wheel has for some situations like large weight transfer or sliding around etc. To answer your question, it depends on what you want to do. Do you want the most accurate feeling of a modern power steered car in AC? Then you don't need too strong a wheel. Or do you want to drive that same car in game, but because this is a sim and not real life, want a greater range of ffb power so you get better feeling of small details and no clipping etc to help you drive it faster? In that case something like 12-15 nm up would be worth it. imho ;) Having said all that, aliens can blitz us on G25's or probably this wheel also! So more nm will not automatically make you faster obviously.
Personally, I'll never buy another TM product again. They basically lied to anyone who bought the T248 by telling them more was coming for the display on the wheel and things like that. Since then, they've been literally dead silent about any of it, and there's been little updates if ANY at all for the wheel. "Glad we got your $400, now fuck off..."
