Hey All! Quick update here. Since recording this video I have had the T300 overheat on me causing the force feedback to weaken while it happens. While lowering the settings will prevent this, it's not something I want to have to worry about. Currently looking at the TGT 2. Check out my follow-up review here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fTAZzqFwG1g.html See me Thrustmaster T-GT II Review that I ended up getting here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bLFTBnkBpII.html
Yes it will be much smoother. The wheel feels really nice and premium and the cool thing is you will have lots of options to buy different wheels and comment them if you wanted to.
I use the T-GT. From what I can tell from reviews the difference is minimal. So if it's considerably cheaper I'd go for that one. It hasn't skipped a beat since I bought it Jan 2020. And it has a huge fan so no overheating ever.
This is also my first wheel. The biggest tip I found is to hold the mode +start button until the light flashes 2 times and it forces the fan always on. Helps with ffb over longer races. By the time the fan kicks on its usually too late on auto mode
@the casual racing gamer I've been granturismo ing since 1997. Still have all the main granturismos. PS2 through PS5. I've used Logitech, thrustmaster t500, t300rs, and now the Fanatec DD1 with the V3 pedals. I'm telling you all this for a short summary of my experience. The t300rs is a good wheel. I've seen many opinions on many different wheels. I recommend the DD1 for it's compatability range. PC, Xbox and PS. Something to think about for you.
Adding some Magnets to the shifter paddles is a very worthwhile upgrade and quite cheap. Also, wear gloves if you want to keep the wheel looking nicer for longer.
T300 is the most sensible upgrade with the pedals you already have. TGT2 is way overpriced and the T818 doesn't have console compatibility. Your setup should be good for a long time. Nice one.
Ey, nice to see you are envolving!!! :D The Average Racing Gamer! Congratulations :) You should use gloves now though because of the Alcantara. Also it adds immersion :D Great video as usual and an INSTANT LIKE!
Nice upgrades are always a great feeling, you also might need gloves from my understanding that material on the wheel doesn’t like the oils from your hands and over time begins to wear on it
Any racing wheel that you see in a list of "best entry level racing wheels" is enough for any casual gamer to experience a huge boost in immersion when jumping from a controller. I purchased a Logitech DFP in 2006 that was an official PlayStation 2 Gran Turismo 4 wheel. It was sooo basic, made of rubber, with shift buttons instead of shift paddles, but it had two pedals, 900 degree rotation and force feedback, and that was just enough to blow my mind. I bought it for 90€ new and used it mainly for PC simracing. It's 17 years old and still works like the first day. If it was compatible with the PS5 I'd still use it. And it's compatible with Windows 11! I ordered a second hand G923 just so I can play GT7 with it. I like having all those buttons on the wheel to navigate the game, and also they're really handy for PC sims. I hope it arrives soon, its been on its way for a week now 🥺
@@thecasualracinggamer I have a tracking number and it's been "on its way" for five days now. I hope I'll have it before the end of this week! And I hope it's in good condition 🤞
Nice new wheel! the T300 was my first wheel and it got me through some amazing times! One thing though: Trying this out on GT7 for the force feedback probably not the greatest, would like to see a video of you trying the wheel ffb in something like AMS2 or iracing where the ffb is better than GT7. The other good thing is if you are not happy with the wheel you are no a part of the TM ecosystem and you can put whatever rim of theirs you want on the base, there are some great TM rims out there! Good vid enjoy.
Nice!! I currently have the T150. Debating between the TGT2 or go all out and get the Fanatec DD Pro. The TGT2 has the additional vibration that GT7 supports, but I don’t know if the DD can be beat. Especially since it isn’t much more money that the TGT
@JoshBlock Yeah, once price gets closer with the two it makes the decision harder. The T300 for me was still at a price vs reward that made it worth it to me then going to the next step up.
@CSTBFO_jad It's the no console support that kills the Thrustmaster DD for me. Also, looked the Moza R5 but would need a 3rd party device to use it for the PS5 as it is not natively supported and then would not be able to use my T-LCM pedals with the R5. The T300 for me came it at the sweet spot price vs features and also being able to use my pedal set.
Congratulations on your new purchase. So I have a T300 GT RS and the package you have seems better. I had to purchase my Ferrari 599 wheel separate and it cost me about $150 extra at the time.
@@thecasualracinggamer well I used to have over heating issues I think. It kinda feels like the ffb goes sluggish to how you felt it initially I think. However after the TM firmware update with boost feature and GT7 1.31!!! Idk wtf happened but it felt like NEW product completely🙌WAY BETTER, just better I guess
@@thecasualracinggamer Yeah, I agree it's a great starter wheel. I have been using the T150 for like 3 years now. I upgraded the pedals to the TLCM pedals and the Thrustmaster gated shifter last year when GT7 launched so I might as well take the next step.
Sounds like your ready. 😁 If you could find just the servo and wheel it's really a good deal since you have the pedals already. Unfortunately I need to buy it with the pedals I didn't need.
Im in the first 30 days of tgt2 wheel with tlcm pedals. Wheel is great I got open box discount and it looked like it was never hooked up by the way the cords were. The transducer works great on gt7. Im only playing gt7 on psvr2 so the gt2 was a no brainer being 100 off with open box. 6nm is plenty for me for ffb. Gt2 is really smooth and plenty of torque but its already at direct drive price range.
Thing is, is a 5 Nm direct drive wheel better then a belt drive said to be around 6 Nm. I think you would need to be looking at the 8 Nm and up wheels which willl be a nice little jump in price.
@The Casual Racing Gamer yeah everything is so much money. Add to cart is my favorite thing to do. I just hate the paying part. I have series x to and was thinking fana dd pro for ps5 so I can switch rims for xbxox. I got the gt2 because it was at my local micro center and it has the transducer for gt7
Yeah, the T300 was $300 when I bought my T150 but it came with a different wheel and a 2 pedal set. My T150 at the time was on sale for $140 and I was actually buying it for my son. LOL
I used to have this steering wheel, it was pretty good, but weak and I had problems with overheating and weakening FFB. Then I switched to TGT-2 and the difference wasn't that significant. I ordered the Logitech G Pro, waiting for delivery, we'll see how it goes ;)
Im perplexed why you would need any more FFB I tried my t300 on 10 and it felt like I was driving around in a dump truck or an old tractor thats not what real cars feel like to drive unless they got no power steering or somethings broke. Other than for a light workout theres no reason to have the FFB up that high. Iv settled on about 6 for FFB and sensitivity on 8
So after figuring out the wheel, it has the same amount of buttons as my T150, which is 11. The main switch actually acts as three buttons. You can turn it clockwise for one, counter clockwise for two and push it down for three. Was so happy to see I didn't lose out on buttons here!
Bought this wheel myself after finding the Logitech g923 annoying, this has a forced mode which keeps the fan on constantly to hopefully prevent overheating.
I don't believe anything has changed. The issue has been around from the start. Some people say they don't have issues but it's a risk. I would not buy from anywhere you cannot return it.
I have the ferrari edition in rubber and round at the bottom of the wheel, i like your wheel BETTER. IT has more than enough gforce for me, im not the strong anymore at 61.
idk why but i only have overheating problems when i use my t300 on my playstation with gt7 but on pc wit asetto corsa or car x drift racing i can play for days non stop and have zero problems
yeah i in gt7 on default settings it overheats in 30min but when in put the ff on plus 1 it takes 3-4 corners.... but i dont care i have my t300 for 5+ years and abused it every day in asseto i think it holed up well and i tinking about switching to a dd wheel@@thecasualracinggamer
@@mbz4652 noctua fan mod and force cooling mode. hold mode and options/start until the red light flashes. If it flashes twice, it means forced cooling is switched on. If it gives a single flash, it means the cooling is set to.... and on the hot day ac in front
The T248 is a hybrid belt and gear driven system like the T150, just newer. The T300 is a pure belt driven system so it will be the better way to go. Smoother, better feedback and options to purchase different style wheels and swap them. I think you are paying for the digital screen on the T248 more then anything else. Personally, I would go T300 if you have the choice.
