This looks like a much more flushed-out version of something I tried with some Logitech pedals years ago. I was in a crappy living situation and ended up moving and my sim rig got destroyed, but I've always wanted to revisit the degressive "clutch bite" feel on a pedal just for fun. It doesn't really do anything to improve lap-times but I enjoyed it and thought it was a cool immersion thing. Cheers!

Very well presented. I can see by the way it swings that the hump feel would be pretty smal if you lengthen the two connecting plates you made so the arc was bigger i think it may increase the realness feel. DIY is always better if anyone looks at them you get to say those words we all love. "I made that" well done.

Great mod! You should release a complete guide on how to build it! Also the specs of the parts and all that. It really is a great mod. Thank you for sharing it!

Thanks for your feedback. I wouldn't really know what else to tell or show you, other than what you see in the video and in the images you find in the description. I think in combination those sources should tell you what you need to know to copy this mod. If you want to copy it and have any questions, feel free to ask ;)

Looks like a great mod! I still don't have the Pro pedals, but already thinking about tweaking them form day 1 in a similar way.

If you're on a PC and don't require Thrustmaster pedals for console compatibility reasons, I think the clubsports might be the better option (as stated at the end of the video), depending on the exact prices you would pay for each, of course. Personally, I see this mod as useful if you've already got the pedals and are looking for a clutch upgrade that will only cost you around 50€. Don't get me wrong, I do like the mod. It's just that the T3PA-Pro with this clutch mod would typically set you back like 230€ + 2 days of work. Add in the (in my opinion obligatory) basher brake mod, and you're at 260€, while the Fanatecs go for around 360€, I think, including a load cell brake.

Thank you for the advice. For the time being I'm considering fabricate myself the 3rd pedal, as I also need console compatibility. In future I'll see.

i have an idea based off this design if you could put small linear actuators on where the rods are and hook em up to a ardunio and code it to get the friction point ingame you could theoretically create multiple friction points based on the cars data
@TheSimChannel
@TheSimChannel Год назад
Yes, I know that some people are considering that kind of trickery. However, the fully actuator-based pedal from Simucube is probably hard to beat when it comes to high end stuff.

Can you share a link for the "fork cups" (i can´t understand exactly what you said) of the long arm??. Thank you very much
@89lopa

To make that, u must take out the bar that is between the pedals from behind and the circlips on the limits of the bar?
@TheSimChannel
@TheSimChannel 5 лет назад
I think I had to remove the rear bar and the circlips that held it in place, yes.

Think this would be possible inverted if you cut out a hole in the base plate?
@TheSimChannel
@TheSimChannel 5 лет назад
Not like I did it, cause this will extend the pedals to the back, which is bottom in GT mode. If you have a rig that has a lot of space under the pedals and you wanna cut a hole in that, MAYBE it would work. But really, at that point it seems more sensible to me to just get pedals that come with a proper clutch mechanism.
@DontClickMeGameplays
@DontClickMeGameplays 5 лет назад
@@TheSimChannel Would you happen to know what pedals come with that proper clutch mechanism? I've seen it before but for the life of me cannot remember what pedals they were.
@TheSimChannel
@TheSimChannel 5 лет назад
@@DontClickMeGameplays All high end pedals come with some sort of mechanism like that. Fanatec V3s, Heusinkvelds, and many others.

not really

Could you do this mod to normal t3pa’s? Thanks.
@TheSimChannel
@TheSimChannel 6 лет назад
I don't think so. Plastic isn't the most mod-friendly material. I don't really know the T3PA's, so there could be some other hindering factors.
@Skrenja

The Sim Channel Ah okay. I like the pedals I just find the clutch total shite.
@TheSimChannel

I agree, that's why I modded them. I might be selling them soon if you're interested ;-)
@Skrenja
@Skrenja 6 лет назад
The Sim Channel Hmm, thanks for the offer, but if I buy a new set of pedals I’ll probably just go for something super high end.
@TheSimChannel
@TheSimChannel 6 лет назад
I understand that. Heusinkveld Pros have nice clutches if you're looking for that ;-) Haven't tried any Fanatecs yet tbh, could imagine them to be quite good as well (but holy smokes do they charge extra for the inverted ones). w.r.t. the T3PA-Pro clutch mod, as I said in the video I really think it's only worth it if you already have the pedals. Then it's a nice upgrade for relatively little extra money. If you had to buy them first though, and you then add the money for materials, and the hours of work, you might be better off just going for the upright Clubsports. Or if you're looking for really great pedals, there are some options beyond Clubsports (e.g., Heusinkveld).

Does it work when the pedals are in GT mode?
@TheSimChannel
@TheSimChannel 7 лет назад
No, this will take away the option of using the pedals in GT mode. For me it wasn't a big sacrifice, since they don't fit in my rig in GT mode anyway.

@@TheSimChannel hey I have a GT Omega Pro shipping, are you sure about it not being able to be inverted? I've already checked in with 2 other simmers who say they have theirs inverted. Thanks for the reply btw
@TheSimChannel
@TheSimChannel 5 лет назад
@@GoBIGclan If people say they got it to work they probably did (inverted stock T3PA-Pros). May require some additional holes in the footplate or possibly modding the pedals. When I used them I didn't have enough space to mount them inverted without modding, though. Anyway, the clutch mod as presented in this video won't work in the inverted position.
