Thrustmaster has finally pulled back the curtain on their new set of stand alone USB Load Cell Pedals and in this review I give you my thoughts on them. They are aiming at the mid range sim racing pedal market and at $200 they are a great value! Check out the review for all the details.

Hello, I have a T300RS Gt edition wheel along with T-LCM pedals. I use the pedals with the Usb cable, so they are connected to the computer separately. Until today, my pedals were working just fine with the calibration tool. But when I opened the calibration tool today, I realised that the pedals were no longer working. I checked all softwares including the software of the wheel, deleted and re-installed them but nothing worked. I even connected the pedals to the wheel to see if it works, but it didn't. Later, I asked some of my friends who use the same pedals. One of my friends have the exact same problem and he also has a T300RS Gt edition wheel. 2 of my other friends had no issues. I asked one of them to send me the calibration tool that he uses, and when I opened it I realised that the versions are different though it is the same .exe file. His tool is version 2.00, and everything is working fine. Mine is 1.82, and the pedal doesn't work, and the serial number of my pedal is not correctly written on the bottom left of the tool. His software also has the serial number written correctly. Previously, my serial number was also visible on the bottom left, and apparently that has also disappeared. Right now, the pedals are not working and I am not able to use it, neither does my friend with the same wheel. How can this problem be fixed? I am sending two pictures to show you the previous state of the tool and the current one. Previously (when it was working without issues) : i.hizliresim.com/AqmGSt.jpg Current: i.hizliresim.com/rbyWYH.png

In short: First loadcell kit from thrustmaster These pedals are not made to replace other loadcell pedal systems, rather introduce thrustmaster wheel base users to the loadcell experience even if they don't race on the pc platform. Compared to other thrustmaster first party options, nothing beats the t-lcm. Compared to other loadcell pedals, sure, there are better options, but if you're looking for a set of pedals that works out of the box on consoles with your favorite thrustmaster wheel and you want the best possible performance, this is the pedal to get.

"only 12 bits - which is higher than data throughput of some high end simsetups in a whole (wheel, pedals, shifters, brakes, displays, button boxes work on 10bit combined very often :D). You can put everything on very slow PS4 USB (100Hz) and it will still have more than enough to update everything faster than hardware allows it. I guess it's a next step from "audiovoodoo" -> cables at least $2500/ft and hardware connected to 100x faster than needed ports.

The internal attachment for the peadls is a not so robust plastic, it should be thicker, wider and metal...this would make it not move side to side flexing out of the box. i want a little adjustable nuematic action on the gas too. 😙 200$ is too much for me to jump from my t3pa with brake resistor mod and option for thicker gas pedal spring... ill grab em for 120 on a sale in year from now i imagine...🤔

I have a set of t3pa's without any mods (second hand purchase). They replaced a broken set of load cell modified G25's. I miss having a load cell brake...a whole lot. Good review. I'm a Thrustmaster user (TS-PC, TH8A) but am not impressed with the look of these "premium" pedals. Not that it matters, as I already own Fanatec V3's (didn't like Thrustmaster's other pedals either). I do like the Sparco handbrake/shifter and would like to know if there are any plans to bring out a DD wheel, as that is something I would like to get at some point in the not too distant future.

@BlessYoo
@BlessYoo 4 года назад
Memoo Pie It’s 50/50. The T-LCM use hall effect sensors in the clutch and gas so they are more reliable in the long run. However, it uses a plastic base to sit the pedals on. The CSL Elites are all metal construction but use potentiometers in the gas & clutch so they’re more prone to failure or spiking issues.

@@pierluigivinci6777 Load cell pedals, especially under the stiffest settings take a lot of force to press the brake so over time under heavy use the plastic base may be prone to cracking. well not sure if this is really what you are asking but its a fairly simple concept. using springs you can make the range of motion as long as the range of motion of the spring allows. The load cell will sense the pressure the spring applys to it over its entire range of motion same concept as all the other loadcell options but to compare to CSL elite LC pedals since they are the same price point CSL Elite LC Loadcell assembly use Bushings or "Bumpers" that dont allow for the same range of motion but gives a different feel to the pedal as well.

The Tlcm has better tech than the csl (magnetic rather than potentiometer) and in Europe the Csl cost 230€ without shipping cost against the 200€ of the Tlcm, the negative point on the Tlcm is the base construction, made in plastic and doesn’t feel as solid as the Cls.

CSL Elite LCs way better in every way in my opinion and in alot of objective ways. Ive used both. CSL's are sleeker, ALL metal, more accurate to the actual size of a wilwood race car pedal kit, can be inverted if your handy, and more comfortable to me and I where 11-11.5 size shoe. The T-LCM are big, bulky, ugly as all hell, mostly plastic, and have a terribly thin plastic pivot design for the pedals that have insane insane amounts of flex and are just dying to break. Even in this video you can see the pedals going left and right when you're using them. Them claiming a lifetime of use with these 1.5-2mm thick plastic tab pivot is hilarious. I mean seriously, what kind of engineering team makes a load cell pedal that is made for high braking force and they choose to pivot the single highest stress point with 2mm thin dinky plastic tabs on each side. I think thrustmaster makes good wheels for the money but these new pedals to me are just...yuck. I mostly Sim on my PC Rig But with Gran Turismo 7 coming out I might have to bring out my old T300 and modded T3PAs or get these unfortunately...unless Polyphony Digital will provide support more usb pedals and a proper calibration system with a LINEAR Throttle response unlike GT Sports insane Gamma curve where when you push your throttle 85% of the way you at 50% input in the game, giving you 10-15% of throttle throw left to deal with the last 50% of half to full throttle. GENIUS! No wonder everybody spins out and cant control there cars worth shit online because its applied that way to the controllers as well. Anyways...
@bartonez123
@bartonez123 3 года назад
I've also used both and I'd say that the Thrustmaster wins out in this duel. The CSL's don't flex as much is a pro for them. Both load cells are fairly similar in terms of quality. However, I've been plagued with potentiometer issues on the CSL's (like I have on every potentiometer pedal set) and the Thrustmaster hall effects do look like a pretty significant pro for longevity (certainly easier than changing out the pots frequently). Also, the Fanatec elastomer spring thingos in the brake are prone to significant deformation over time, something which probably won't happen with the Thrustmaster springs. The Fanatecs have that all metal construction but cheaped out in a lot of other areas. The Thrustmaster adjustability also gets a big win, as the ability to angle the pedal faces with spacers did mean I could get them to work more comfortably on my rig, an adjustment sorely lacking on the CSL's. Neither has the adjustment of a set of Clubsports, but the CSLs are a little too barebones in this field. Considering the Thrustmaster unit is a LOT cheaper to buy in my country, it's a no brainer for me. It's either this, or save up for the Clubsport pedals, or save up more for some Heusinkvelds.
