I like Aronian too. I remember in one of chess.com speed competition he was ahead. But in last games when he was loosing instead of delaying the game he just surrendered. That was close for his opponent (I think Firoozja) to catch him. Very impressed of his character
@@AB-lb8qm I watched that too. Speed Chess Championship 2019 round one. Levon was ahead of Firouzja but got destroyed in Bullet portion. Finally Levon won 13 to 12
It's interesting seeing how strong Alireza managed to get by playing mainly online, without his official blitz rating increasing. Definitely playing at a 2800 level
jeez....of course he played mostly online...how many blitz /rapid tournaments do you think there are every year? ALL these guys play mostly online...if they play at all and BTW,,,you DO NOT get stronger just from playing....YOU MUST CONTINUE TO STUDY POSITIONS...STUDY OPENINGS...ETC ETC...
@@worththewatch1517 Jeez....everything you do in life is self taught...someone can show you ways to do something...but YOU MUST DECIDE IF THAT PERSON KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT...then you have to put in the effort...if 2 people meet and both had coaches.....only one is going to win....get the point?? and that applies to all life endeavors...not just a chess game
Alireza's strategy every time: 1. Complicated mid game, not even trying to win piece nor position. 2. Let it be end game. But damn he always wins the endgame without breaking a sweat.
enkaperson he seems to play at like 2600 level when it comes to openings and middle game but at like 2900 level in time scrambles it’s crazy how good he plays with only 2 seconds on the clock
@@martinet1985 Well you're right about that. I think he may have meant that it was a one move blunder from an equal position as opposed to Grischuk losing from a series of small mistakes.
@@synchronium24 all games are changed with at least one blunder. Maybe more maybe both side blunder. But the fact is sometimes blunders are smaller. Anyway big blunders are more common in blitz
@@AB-lb8qm "But the fact is sometimes blunders are smaller."Blunder specifically means an extremely bad move. Inacuracy and mistake would generally refer to small or medium errors.
It is so good to see an Iranian player on the top level after all. Chess was even banned and illegal in Iran between 1980 to 1988. The 8 dark years of chess. Good job firoozja.
This is the perfect camera angle to follow the game up close and the player expressions. ChessBase India: Please let the official broadcaster know about this!!. Peter Leko and Almira Skripchenko complained several times about the board view from the top.
@@asenciondivinagracia8248 Sure, but Firouzja is only 16 ! The other young guy that impressed was Abdusattorov who's only 15 ! These are the young lions who will be hunting Carlsen's crowns.
@@flexguillaume9361 they Will fight each other. And when one of them raises to challenge Magnus, Magnus will put them down Like the youngest GM Karjakin, like the talented Caruana, like the speed Demon Hikaru
Does anyone know the chess sets that were used in this tournament? I am looking to purchase one. I love the thickness of the board and the space of the squares and the size of the chess pieces.
@@ichangle4325 if the black win they take both kings and put them both on the black squares if the white wins they put them both on the white. If they drow then they put them on black and white.
I know it was sorta half-way done here. But out of curiosity: is there some sort of etiquette rule in chess competitions stating that players should replace the pieces on the board at the end of their game?
Yes. It is expected that each player sets up his side of the board after a game has finished. The kings may also be placed in one of the 4 center squares to show that a game has been completed.
