Hello. Yes, good point. The Evo WingBar top rubber strip is molded as one piece and must be pulled apart to separate the two halves prior to pressing the sections into the top of the bar. Thanks!
Excellent video and literally just helped me install my roof bars. If I was being overly critical, some of the key stages could do with a zoom, and some very quick rotations or flips made it difficult. Had to watch some parts repeatedly to understand exactly what just happened. Overall though, a well produced and very helpful video. Thank you.
CAUTION--The FIT KIT box shown in the video (186006) does NOT fit on the white Audi Q3 in the video. You must use 186031. Fit Kit directions (186031) comes from a box that is NOT shown in the video. PS. otherwise a great video to complement the very confusing Thule directions.
Hola. Puede parecer contradictorio, pero la barra proporciona el mejor rendimiento aerodinámico con el borde de ataque más grueso, similar al ala de avion ¡Gracias! Hello. It may seem counterintuitive but the bar provides the best aerodynamic performance with the thicker leading edge, similar to an airplane wing. Thanks!
Great video! The picture instructions were kind of confusing at times but I’m glad it seems I did everything right according to this video- except when I go to tighten the fastener, I never got a clicking noise…should I keep trying to tighten until I hear the click?? It already seems very tight
Hi, I have noticed when I see these roof bars around the UK some people fit them the wrong way round the wide part of the wing shape needs to be towards the front with the narrower part to the back just like a wing, nobody seems to make this crystal clear.
Many thanks, all quite clear. Question for the explanation around min 3:14- the rubber difuser string. The Instructions say I should tear the string apart. Do i? The string doesnt just come apart. Do I need to cut it? In your video you do not mention having to split it at all. But if I don't part it it won't fit, and won't look the same as in the instructions manual. Many thanks for your quick answer.
Good Question Esther, I had the same questions when I went to install Thule Wingbars. It may seem counter intuitive but you split the strips down the middle like a cheese string, I didn't have to use any cutting materials, just pull the two sides apart. Watching someone install the strips makes for boring viewing sorry about that! Thanks for askin! #dontBeRackless
Hello. There is no fore, aft designated position for the crossbars on Evo Flush systems. Generally, it is best to position the bars on the side rails with the intended use in mind. Eg: calculate rear hatch clearance needed for a cargo box, bike carriers, skis ect, then determine the rear bar position, then space a minimum of 27 inches forwarded to the front bar. Thanks!
This is amazing video I have a question can I know if this model flush rail Evo 710601 is compatible with lincoln MKC 2017? Thank you appreciate your honesty and hard work to make everything more easy for everyone. Good luck 👍
Hello. There are Thule roof rack options, however, not exactly as depicted in this video. Check the link below for complete details: www.rackattack.com/fit/lincoln/mkc-w-flush-rails/2017/ Thanks!
I have fitted on my VW Touran 2017 following the instructions, but I find the foot covers do not fit all the way on (flush). There is gap as the metal plate or fixing seems to protrude too far to allow me to get the cover all the way on. Any tips, or anyone else had this issue?
@@johno3407 having the same issues with my Ford Kuga 20 reg with flush rails. The nut is just too long. Contacted Thule and they offer no solution just to tighten it! It’s like the nut needs filing shorter!
You seemed to line up the parts with the pair of little holes in the flush rails. I was wondering if the thule parts used them and was heartened when I saw that. But then I noticed the pair at the front were not over the parts with the holes, so perhaps they don't use the holes. Just be nice to know if the holes are needed or used or what. They are on my A4 (avant 2016), but I don't know if I need to take that into account buying a thule.
My old Thule fit kit used the holes on my Audi Q7. This new kit seems to grip the bar on both sides instead of using the holes. Seems to me using the holes is more secure since the inside rail has no lip on Audi rails
Hello. It is possible to loosen the feet and disconnect the Fit Kit brackets from the vehicle's flush side rail while keeping the Thule Feet and Thule crossbars assembled. Thanks!
It comes with four feet. And when you buy the bars they come in a pair. All the parts are designed as a kit that ends up with you with four feet and two bars all ready to go.
I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ru-vid.comUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
Hello. No, we offer the roof rack crossbars that connect to approved factory installed side rails, check out fit guide for vehicle specific details: www.rackattack.com/wizard/ Thanks!
Currently, there is no information on availability, however, the EVO Edge design you are referring to is on Thule's road map and is even shown in the current EVO Flush Rail Fit Kit instructions: www.rackoutfitters.com/content/186031.pdf
The bars all have an under channel cut into them. The large sized bar may not physically fit without some modification that could void warranty. We sometimes provide that service in shop but is generally a case by case basis, depends how safe it is.
Hello. 700mm is a default position and is suitable for many carriers, however, on flush side rails it is generally possible to position the bars farther apart if the need arises. Thanks!
@@rackattack thank you for response; I need it for 30Lb-45Lb Canoe 14'-16' (420cm-480cm), so I'll move it further apart definitely, 70cm looks too little & unbalanced on Lexus RX 350 SUV, and it is not stable for long 4m+ cargo. I asked because I was confused with Thule documentation, why they don't provide such details.
The towers which the each fit kit will require will be specific to each vehicle. Check out our fit guide to see what your vehicle would require www.rackattack.com/wizard/
Hello. The current part number in the USA for the Evo Flush Rail foot pack is 710601, other countries may have different production runs and different part numbers. Thanks
Nope. They are fitted in the right orientation. Think about an airplane wing. The thicker side is attacking, the thinner side generates lower air pressure and it's in the back. This is not working like an "arrow". My guess is that this way it minimises turbulence.
