This is an unboxing, installation, and first impressions/review of the Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi frame mounted child bike seat. This is more expensive than most, but I consider this the very best bike child seat on the market, and the quality is amazing. We highly recommend it! It's super easy to take on and off, and the mount is easy to install on most bikes.

Please note this is the framed mounted version, as often you will find other versions like the frame mounted when searching for this product. The two versions are different and are not compatible.

Question: behind where the two pieces of metal are fixed with screws. In my bike frame which is oval shaped, the two lower screws are not able to make the u shaped bridge, come close to the tube. Do you think is wrong?

hello. how old is your baby in this video? my baby is ten months. and i don't know should i buy "thule mini" or "maxi". Is this "maxi frame" safe for a child under one year old? thank you 🌷

Hi. Thanks for the video. I had a question about loading the baby. Would I need a bike with a kick stand to load the baby onto the seat? I’m thinking of buying one of these for a canyon grail and was thinking if it would be hard balancing the baby and the bike at the same time

I don't use the kickstand when putting our chicken in this. The kickstand makes the bike lean over, and the weight of the child would literally make it fall. As you place your child in, it's pretty intuitive to keep the bike upright as you do it.

I am clipping my heels on the tire guard on mine but can't move it up on the frame any higher or any further back. Is that just a bike design feature I have to deal with?

Is the seat wobbly? I was quite surprised with all the movement of the seat.

I don't think I would call it wobbly. It bounces up and down, but I think that's a feature rather than bug?

Hi, thanks for the very informative video! What is your frame and wheel size? and what is the distance between the two metallic arms of the seat?

The bike size should not matter, you just need enough space on the vertical tube to mount the holder attachment. We have used it on various bike sizes. This one in the video is a larger frame with 29 in tires. The distance between the two metal bars is 3" inside.

@@nelsonleemiller I also have a 29'er with a smaller frame. I bought the seat and it fits, but on a bumpy road the seat flexes and touches the tire.

Oh, I've never had any trouble with that. Mine isn't even up the whole way. I'm installing on another bike today I'll see how it goes.

Hi, have you ever assembled this child bike seat reference, on an E-bike? We have the same thule seat and ....my wife wants a folding E-bike that is compatible with this seat reference.

Yes absolutely, we have it on my Pace 500.3. it all depends on the seatpost tube.

Haha I am not disappointed, I was waiting for someone to assume that we didn't use a helmet, but this was just a slow, safe test of course. Maybe you didn't see clearly the thumbnail of real life. 😀
