1:14 2. The Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi has great ventilation
1:34 3. The Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi has foot straps that actually work
2:14 4. Easy to Mount and Unmount
2:46 Quick note about sizing
A Quick Note About Size
The Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi is safety rated for babies as young as 9 months. HOWEVER, after testing the seat ourselves, we believe it’s a better fit for toddlers at least 18 months old. There are only two shoulder strap height placements on this seat and the lowest setting is a bit high for most average 12 - 18-month-olds. The Thule RideAlong Lite has a third lower position that allows the shoulder straps to be adjusted more securely for a 12 month old. Just our opinion, and something to consider if you’re thinking about buying the seat for a younger toddler.
Note: The Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi rear mount and the Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi frame mounted are the same as the Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi Rack Mount, except for their mounting systems.

I brought this seat and it has a huge flaw - the side panels flair out rather than taper towards the bike which means your heels will hit the panels on each upwards pedal stroke. The only way to avoid this is to either flair your heel out the side or ride the pedals on your foots arch (which it looks like you're doing in the video). This may not be a problem if your bike has long chain stays where you can mount the rack further back or you have very small feet. I'm currently deciding whether to return the seat or drill some holes through the panels so I can zip tie them to the seat stays to avoid contact with my heels.

Hey Nick. I did actually notice this and mentioned it in my longer written review. While I had the issue when I first started riding with it, I no longer have that problem. Not sure if I've just adjusted the way I ride... but I ride with a lot of different seats (for testing purposes) and this is the only seat that I had that issue with. For reference, I am 5'10 and wear women's size 10 shoes.

Two Wheeling Tots Thanks for replying, is there any other seats you can recommend - does the non “nexxt” version also have this problem? I really like the seat but not sure if it’s usable for me. I have read reviews on REI that say they’ve drilled holes in he plastic and used zip ties to taper the panels inwards, thinking I might try the same but don’t want to do a hack job and ruin the resell value.

I did the zip tie hack right away. I hope it *increases* the resale value, haha. Did you end up keeping yours?

Hi, I know this video is a little old now but I wondered what rack you were using?
@Twowheelingtotsbikes
@Twowheelingtotsbikes 21 день назад
This is an Axiom rack. Most racks will not state that they are compatible with a child bike seat because the company does not want to take on that liability. Make sure that whatever rack you choose has a weight capacity that will cover both the bike seat and the child.

Are you using the rack or frame option?
@nriley0906
@nriley0906 4 года назад
I’m looking at these but unsure about the rack mounted option - I’d prefer it but is it a comfortable ride for the little ones? Doesn’t look like there’s much suspension going on if you accidentally hit a bump and also there’s not much room behind the adult...?
@Twowheelingtotsbikes
@Twowheelingtotsbikes 4 года назад
Mounting bars on frame-mounted seats do tend to offer a bit of suspension where rack-mounted seats cannot. That said, we only ever ride with rack-mounted seats because my everyday bike can't take a mounting block. My daughter loves it. She says "ouch" every once in a while, but is happy every time I tell her we're going for a ride. Frame-mounted is cheaper because you don't have to buy a rack though...

Thank you for your video. I probably miss a thing as it seems so simple regarding the instructions but I can't figure how to change the shoulders straps height :/ I mean I really can't pull them off from there original position to move them up on the higher level. Any tip would be so much appreciate 🙂 Cheers from France
@Twowheelingtotsbikes

They should pull out from the back of the seat. You may need to use your fingernail or a butter knife to wedge it loose…

Awesome video. Do you know if the seat is compatible with the Topeak Babyseat II Disc Mount Rack (the rack that the Topeak Seat ships with)?
@Twowheelingtotsbikes
@Twowheelingtotsbikes Год назад
We have not tested this, and Topeak’s official stance is that it is not compatible with any other bike seat.
@avishekaiyar
@avishekaiyar Год назад
@@Twowheelingtotsbikes I just tested it and it works perfectly. The thing that bothers me slightly is the safety aspect of it. Since the install just relies on tightening the seat brackets around the rack bars, is it reliable ? Do we have to worry about the seat brackets loosening over time ? Stuff like that scares me but maybe I am just being paranoid.
@Twowheelingtotsbikes
@Twowheelingtotsbikes Год назад
This is how most rack mount bike seats work, but since Topeak’s stance is that it isn’t compatible, we can’t recommend using it.

Hola. Excelente video. Dices que para 4 años de edad. En la descripción de la página de Thule dice que hasta 6 años o 22 kg. Lograste probarlo con niños de ese peso? Gracias!
@Twowheelingtotsbikes
@Twowheelingtotsbikes 3 года назад

Really interested getting this for my 2 year old, Will this mount up to any bike rack or are there specific mounts for this seat?
@Twowheelingtotsbikes
@Twowheelingtotsbikes 9 месяцев назад
It will mount to most bike racks, unless you have an ebike, which tend to have wider racks that this seat wouldn’t be able to clamp on to. Make sure your rack has an appropriate weight capacity!

Will this mount to a bike with quick release on the back wheel?
@Twowheelingtotsbikes

A quick release on the back wheel shouldn't affect anything how the seat mounts to your bike. Are you trying to attach it to a rack?
