Thanks for producing the film, I loved it so much, I remember after watching years later because it left such a good impression. Loved the line “it’d be a shame to see you both get hit by a fucking train” 😂😂

I need to leave a comment to appease the almighty algorithm, so I'd just like to point out that my favorite little touch in Thunder Road is that Jim points out multiple times that he went to LSU, and when his ex-wife says she's moving with his daughter to a new town, it's Tuscaloosa, the home of LSU's rival school Alabama.

It's just a wonderful film. A man who loves women, but fundamentally doesn't understand them - as well as being a man in touch with his feminine side whilst proving that the entire idea of having a "Feminine Side" is outdated and pointless.

I feel like this is one of those movies I’ll rewatch years from now and have a completely new take on then when I first watched. Such a nuanced film that doesn’t sway too far in any one direction.

Your particular way of illuminating the soul of movies, be they will known or relatively hidden, is beautiful. I can't say that I would normally consider a movie like this as I often feel too tired to afford being emotionally invested and end up consuming "fast food" instead, but it's reaffirming that art like this (and here I mean both the films and your essays on them) is out there.

I love films like this, dark and serious but also comedic. Not a comedy, as unfortunately the marketing often frames it, just comedic. Glimmers of humour that make it more lifelike.

I just watched this movie and it's excellent, I wasn't sure what to expect. It's funny and awkward and sad. It makes you uncomfortable in places and it's really unique.

It is not very often that we common folk witness a genius in the making. And that what I see in Jim Cummings. The portrayal of the main character by Jim is absolutely brilliant. This is not your LOL comedy; however, it’s as funny as a tragic movie allows. Jim is outstanding in conveying his emotions to his audience. You feel his pain, you cry with him, you laugh with him, and in that little moment of happiness you celebrate with him. I’ve watched the film 3X already, in two days. A definite must see! I really enjoyed The Wolf of Snow Hollow so I looked for what else Jim Cummings had done and found this movie and the short film. I'm so glad that I did, I really like movies that explore family dynamics. Also if I recall correctly the short included the music where in the full length Thunder Road he can't get the boombox to work adding to how sad and sorrowful his opening tribute dance to his mother was.

I was amazingly surprised by this film. I didn't expect anything, I almost skipped it, and just becouse I had a boring night with nothing to do or watch I gave it a try. the character cumming builded is a master piece.

Such an impactful movie and it is interesting how you compare it to movies like Joker which is a far more inferior movie overall as many critics note giving The Thunder Road 97% and Joker 69% which makes me gloriously happy. I want the very best thing for Jim Cummings because being a writer, director, actor he has such a unique vision, I have only seen two of his movies and loved them both, like really love them.
