65, the only thing that was missing in that movie was a waterlogged Statue of Liberty and somebody screaming in the background they blew it up.

I've seen 4/5 of these films and I refuse to believe that there's any worse than fools paradise. Also thank you for saying what needed to be said about Ken Jeong. The fact he's manufactured a career in Hollywood is baffling to me.

I somehow missed a fourth Expendables movie came out this year, but that’s probably for the best. Also, I truly don’t know how Josh Hutcherson has struggled to find decent work since The Hunger Games.

Cocaine Bear was a surprise because I haven't seen it on any lists. But I agree with you. The film is supposed to be a horror comedy but is severely lacking in both horror and comedy. It needed more oomph. More of an edge to it. Sadly, I don't think Banks was the person for the job. I hope she gets better on her next project, though, whatever it is.

I like to mention that according the IASIP podcast. Charlie said his film was supposed to be a love letter to Hal Ashby (mainly they reference Being there). Or, the type of film that you don’t see them made currently. Also, it’s funny how Charlie And Glenn Howerton had both films released the same day. And yet the Golden God had better reception (Blackberry) than the bad guy from Pacific Rim.

One good thing about 65 was Ariana Greenblatt. I thought she gave an excellent performance, reminding me of Dafne Keen in Logan, and along with her roles in Barbie and Asoka she is an actress to watch out for.

FNAF is such a weird franchise since it's a horror-lite title with a huge fanbase of children. The movie can't be too gory or scary, just as the games are very simple and easy to play with only jump scares, because if it becomes too complex or frightening, it alienates a huge core part of its audience. It has to straddle the line of being interesting for adults (probably why they threw in a court drama) and fun for children (look! the guy from my video game on the screen! Like Sonic!) Horror for children, done well, is an untapped market I believe, especially when I look at the success of things like Bendy and the Ink Machine and Among Us, two games with horror premises couched in enough child friendly aesthetics that it can attract wide audiences.

The problem with FNAF is that they took so long to make the movie that not only had the franchise already peaked years ago but a film inspired by the game already got made beforehand -Willy's Wonderland. And that had nicolas cage in it. Now i know Willy's Wonderland isnt good and was on a previous list but in comparison to FNAF at least it wore it trashy ridiculousness on its sleeve and revelled in being a guilty pleasure. And so to compete with that FNAF had to be great, it couldnt just be average or mediocre because thats not gonna hold up when compared to a mute nicolas cage beating an animatronic gorilla to death in a resteraunt bathroom. Lol

I have no beef with people who love the series or the movie, nor do I think their beliefs or actions mirror the creators

I hate to still bring up the James Somerton nonsense, but before all the exposés started, I’d seen two of his videos. The one that convinced me he was an idiot was his Barbie video, where he expressed his joy that the age of Marvel was over. The thing he was ecstatic to take its place: Cocaine Bear. It’s the worst attempt at camp I’ve ever seen. Honestly, I’m of the opinion that if you’re reaching for camp, you’re doing it wrong, anyway. It’s something that comes naturally, and nothing has ever felt more forced than Cocaine Bear.

Someone else made the point that the greenscreen and effects in Expend4bles looks like Escape from LA, but if anything it actually looks worse. And that film actually DID have unfinished effects due to a rushed post production. Of course, the biggest difference between LA and Expend4bles is that Escape from LA is actually fun. Also the FNAF movie was so dull and bad that I didn't get any entertainment out of it even though I saw it while drunk beyond belief.

I felt like "Fool's Paradise" could have been better if it was purely episodic - have Charlie's character spend 10 minutes with Adrien Brody, 15 minutes with Ray Liotta, 10 minutes with Kate Beckinsale, and so on.

Honestly, 65… I truly feel like Beck and Woods wrote an OK draft of a quiet place which then got rewritten by John krasinski and turned into a great script, and off the back of that they’ve just been inexplicably getting more and more work. Their latest, Boogeyman was also rewritten by the writer of black swan - like, it just seems like they genuinely just completely average writers and when left to their own devices they churn out dross like 65.

I am not kidding when that is literally a plot driver of an animated Christmas special starring Randy Travis from the 90s about a baby cow who wants to fly. (Well, it was a rich aunt trying to adopt her disabled nephew, but it makes about as much sense there as it does here.)

There’s a film I’m hoping to see in your top five. Boring, tedious, shockingly badly written, sexist, lazy mental health stereotyping, massively disappointing main special effect, boring, tedious (did I mention?), overlong, pompous and… badly written. It was called Oppenheimer.

Weirdly, for once I don't entirely agree with you, in that despite FNAF being a confused mess I sort of liked it. That said, I'd seen the earlier attempts with Willy's Wonderland and Banana Splits. Wonderland was... watchable-ish. Banana Splits had no idea what it was doing. Cocaine Bear I also sort of liked. Though I don't think either of them is good. More that I had fun watching them. I did see Godzilla Minus One last night though, and that was truly magnificent.

Now it's worst time! 10. I never saw this one. I saw a couple ads for this film and thought "Eh, the premise looked kinda cool, and I like Adam Driver." but I was never interested enough to check it out on my own. Based on the reviews I've seen, I think I made the right decision. 9. Literally nobody asked for this. Also, wait, THIS HAD A HIGHER SHOOTING BUDGET THAN OPPENHEIMER?! WHAT THE HELL?! 8. Completely disagreed. I absolutely loved this movie. I thought it was a really funny and enjoyable tribute to comedies of old. Oh, and speaking of Charlie Day, I recently saw Horrible Bosses on a flight. Friggin hilarious! 7. Haven't seen. 6. Another complete disagreement. Cocaine Bear is awesome!

Yeah Cocaine Bear sucked. It should’ve been shlocky B-movie fun but missed the part where the characters have to match the shlocky over-the-topness of the premise. They all should’ve matched Matthew Rhys’ level, aside from the main protagonist. Instead the movie made the violent ends those mostly grounded characters met felt gross rather than darkly entertaining.
