recently had an interaction with Turin and I cannot express well enough what an absolute gentleman and absolute chad he is. love the channel and love coming home from work to see some carnage in TW every night, even if I don't have time to play!
Thanks for the cast. It was a fun game. What I didn't show you is Outer immediately beating me with a quad copter build in the semis after this match lol. MU is still dawi favored imo but on a big map like this one I think Coast can equalize things by using their buffed speed and some funky moves.
To anyone saying the Thunderbarge nerfs are too much. He put it out in the open against a faction with a lot of capability for ranged firepower. If he took one or two gyrocopters to hastily respond to artillery, he could've sat that thing at any of the objectives to rain hell on the pirates. It can still dish out a lot of damage, you just can't set it on a path and forget about it anymore. In all honesty this isn't about how poorly the barge performed - it's about how well the VC player brought everything to perfectly counter the strengths of the dwarves.
Preach. Dwarves were almost 100% build countered, didn't use the spec ops (that took the back point) to kill the cannon, and they still managed to stay fighting.
The Barge is still a very viable unit. It secured the backfield easily, the problem is the dwarf frontline got obliterated because Outer didn't bring an answer for Syreens. This forced him to put the Barge in a bad position to save the middle and that is where it died
You dwarf mains can put me in the book for all I care, but as a Slaanesh main I got rock hard seeing that oversized blimp crash to the ground. I'll never forget the horrors of dealing with that atrocity in land battles.
I can see this being the optimal opponent for syreens, dwarves rely on a high armor which is fully negated while their already low melee attack is dumpstered even further with charmed. On top of that there are only two regular units I can think off with magic attacks, one being slow as balls and the other very pistol-able. Blasting charges are still an issue though.
Honestly I doubt, they will be useful, but dwarfs should still be terrible matchup for them. As you mentioned blasting charges are hard counter and if dwarfs brought like 5 more units instead of barge I doubt coast could snipe them. Plus Hammerers have magic and high armour, we might see em used finaly
I normally love any dwarven game, even those that they lose because of how interesting just about all dwarven builds seemed to me as a non multiplayer person. That said, this just was boring to me for some reason. The dwarven build just seemed to be without any teeth, balance, or purpose, design. The thunderbardge limped around and almost everything else was just low tier trash infantry wondering around aimlessly getting picked to pieces. Again, I bow to the better players here as I certainly dont know better than them, I am just stating what I am seeing. It is a first for me and I am hoping it is just a one off as I am not sure if this is a shift for me after years of always auto clicking every dwarven video yet. My point is that I dont know how to articulate it, but this is just a very meh game to me after so many years of always hyped games. The mist was very cool though and I am glad VC is being balanced out for sure. I just wish it was a bit more interesting of a clash to a non-multiplayer person. However, maybe not all of the vids are going to be.
Coast is certainly a faction that can do something about the barge, still ate a lot of firepower, guarded his backline quite well for a good part of the game.. But yea 3k i a lot.
Do you think we'll see more of the Syreens' cousins Cairn Wraiths as well? The differences between these units as of patch 5.1 are that Syreens have 6 more melee defense and the -8 melee attack debuff, while Cairn Wraiths have 6 more melee attack, 12 more weapon strength, and Frostbite debuff. Seems like the Wraiths have entered infantry blender territory.
Swear to god, if we ever get a vampire coast dlc for wh3, they better give them some kind of flying ghost ship unit If mountain dwelling dwarves get cannon firing airships, the PIRATE FACTION deserve a flying dutchman
Coast buffs were too minimal. Lowest leadership and stats in the game still, and too slow to avoid any magic. Syreens getting a whopping +2 damage and a kickass +3 to melee attack, I mean..... You saw how they were still fighting even with basic dwarf warriors by themselves. Terrible :)
Great to see coast, don't see them to often and I just watched your recent single faction tournament video with them. Just wondering, is the necrofex colossus bad in mp? I never see anyone take it.
They are still ridiculous in singleplayer. A barge doomstack is still pretty much unbeatable with all the buffs from tech, faction and red skill line. They are still so strong that they get pretty boring after a two or three fights. At least for me
Holy Smokes, what buff did Syreens get to make them such powerful can-openers? I still think they struggle to hold the line but if you use them in the classic undead fashion (mixed with chaff or monsters) they can punch above their weight.
They have always been good at countering dwarves, they have high AP and physical resist. Dwarves are a highly armored faction with weak magic damage, with the exception of Slayers and some elite units/heroes.
indeed if thunderbarge remains as resistant to melee, it will still be a nightmare for rush factions. It should be more fragile and cheaper, instead of being a win or lose choice.
@@emultra759 If they are on the field use it as a support tool until your gun line has taken out the enemy fliers. The hard counter to it is artillery, as anything else can be baited into range of your guns or your own artillery.
