Matt is the most legendary guy on RU-vid. He's a respected gun owner, a veterinarian and has a beautiful family on a super nice ranch. He runs 3 successful RU-vid channels on top of all that. Imagine how hectic his life must be but he still manages to maintain all that while being happy, keeping his family happy and fed with a gorgeous roof over their heads. 2:16 if its a compressor for a semitruck it will probably require 24 volts instead of 12 which cars use, semitrucks often have a 24volt battery becouse they require a bigger starter motor for the engine. Like so Matt sees

TheGamingGuy it’s not a compressor for a semi I have one on my dually the pressure switch is probably dead causing the compressor not to kick on or the compressor is probably just dead most likely they die often

Semis dont use 24v systems and if they ever did, they havent in 50+ years. They are all 12v just like cars/pickup trucks. Also, that is not a compressor off a semi, its just a small 12v compressor mounted on an air tank. Oh yeah, 20 year truck driver here and own my own truck(s).

@@GeweerBeer The horns are marketed towards semis but they are not standard equipment on them. They are train type horns. I have two sets on my semi. The compressor/air tank combo is not from a semi however. A semi has its own on board air system for the air brakes and stuff and we run the horns off of them with either a switch with an electric solonoid in line or with a control valve in line of the air supply line. And they are stupid loud. On my truck, just one set will hit 150db from 10 feet away with 100psi going threw then. You can actually feel them. With both sets hooked up, it's way to loud. It's awesome! LoL

Matt, those logs you had with hollowed centers made naturally what bushcrafters have been making for a long time called a Swedish Torch. Check it out. Stand them vertically and once they get going you can use it as a stove.

My uncle had a horn and compressor like that. His compressor had an extra port, you could attach an air hose to refill tires or an air mattress or whatever.

You can use an air tank placed in the trunk and run an air line to the horns with a valve switch for letting them puppies rip out and roar. Take it from an old trucker here. Their great horns and loud as all heck and proud you'll be son. Now hop to it.

I agree with leaving the windows in. If you go through mud it would help to keep from getting muddy. One thing I would suggest is to brace your drivers seat. The first time I drove in A demo derby years ago. I got hit and the seat broke the front mounts so I drove the rest of the time leaning back.

I have that same air horn and compressor on my truck, the only way my dad and i could get it to work was the wiring box it came with, those horns are ridiculously loud, so i really hope you get it to work

We put one of those under a truck in high school. Hooked up to an air compressor that was in the bed. Originally we wanted a ship horn but realised it was to big 🤣

if you take out windows, stick to just the side ones. The rear window contributes to the structural integrity of the car. Without front and/or rear windshields, any frontal impact will cause more damage to the structural parts, whereas when they are in place (and without cracks!) they act as shock absorber even when they don't break, and transfer shock across the bodywork to spread out the load.

Something to remember is the air bags by adding that weight to the front bumper if you bump into anything it could set-off the airbags. You have added a lot more mass to the factory bumper and it could cause the switches that tell the computer to fire the bags off to close and they will go off. There should be a fuse the operates them that you can remove to disable the bags. You could also find the sensors on the front end bumper mounting area and unplug them.

Yes, trucks have at least 2 to 3 minimum of air tanks. It depends on how many brake cans and accessories on each particular vehicle. The air horn will get air supplied from a 1/4" airline from a secondary tank. It's activated by a manual pull valve or electric/air solenoid

The air horns should work with any air pressure higher the pressure the louder the horn. Grill guard? That’s what we call a bullbar or roobar here in Australia 😂 Leave the windows Matt otherwise you’ll be regretting it later when you are freezing your butt off

you can hook one of the air horns up to vacuum from the engine and use a blower kit for a compressor to control the air flow. Good for cat call whistle or siren sounds.😉🤣

Keep the windows to minimise dust coming in but rip out the back seat to give you a larger boot space for stuff you might need on the journey. Also put in some plating on the under side of the engine to protect your radiator and sump.

Matt: Just a little advice, mount the siren past your head sitting in the car. Your gunna regret turning that thing on if its mounted directly over your head. There is a reason cop cars siren box is mounted in front of the radiator.

So you take the old bumper off for ground clearance which was a good idea but then you hang a brush guard on that hangs out farther and just as low as the stock bumper so you made it worse and with a heavy guard which will make it ride lower in the front. If anything put some aluminum plate to help slide the front end over stuff and cut the front end farther back as much as possible. see if you can stuff some spacers In the springs to lift it. Weld the diff together too

I like the horns maybe get a air pump for a transport and air chamber put it in the trunk with solenoids to run the horns. Do not take out the windows as you need to stay dry when it rains.
