I hate the feel on my arms for some reason, so I have to wear mine with long sleeves only, which isn't a bad thing! Nice to have option! :)
I really like mine even though I won't wear it much before next fall. I been rocking waxed cotton motorcycle suits since 1969 and the material is quite rugged. I make a mixture of paraffin and mineral spirits to retreat this fabric. Smear the compound on the outside, turn the garment inside out and toss it in a clothes dryer for 5 minutes. Comes out looking like new with better-than-new water resistance.
Nice review, I haven't tried the Thursday jacket but it seems like a good one. The thing I wish these companies would do is have better interior pockets. Iron & Resin got it right with a nice set of usable pockets. Most waxed jackets seem to have one small no-close pocket inside that doesn't feel very secure for putting say... my wallet or keys in.
That's true. I forgot to mention that the interior pocket of this one is a bit bigger than on other waxed jackets. Definitely a plus, but for storage capacity but not much more secure.
Going to purchase one of these next week, torn between the dark olive or navy or even charcoal. Obviously Thursday’s boots and shoes are great, but it’s underrated how quality their other products are like their jackets, and bags. Picked up a black suede jacket from them and a really good commuter bag. Overall, such a great company for an extremely competitive price.
I also purchased a - Thursday Field Jacket. Handsome jacket fully lined. Also corduroy on inside hip & cuffs. I am 5' 7" (170cm) Tall & 165 lbs. (75kg) Weight. Size - M - was a perfect fit in body length & sleeve length. Enough room to layer. I hopes this helps someone re their sizing.
Oh man, there's a lot more detail that goes into the Thursday Waxed Canvas Jacket than I originally thought. I did consider getting an olive one at some point but in the end I passed Thursdays and settled for an unlined jacket from Flint and Tinder due to my climate. I did however drop a suggestion thingamajig to Thursday suggesting an unlined version so hopefully one day. My unlined purchase has been serving me well from all the rain I've been using it in. Edit : On the Thursday's fit, if I recall correctly, the original version of the Thursday's jacket has a more tight fit. The athletic fit is the second version after customerr feedback.
I absolutely love this jacket that I actually won!!!! I have several waxed jackets and this beats the f+t imho. I like the fit better and the details it offers. Since I'm addicted to waxed truckers, I just ordered a Design waxed jacket and I really like it as well! Lined pockets on that one!
Just stumbled on to your channel. I bought a Belstaff (road master) wax cotton jacket and now I’m hooked. My wife hates it because I can’t wash them😂😂. I subbed and look forward to more of your videos. Hope I win the jacket!

You can make up a mixture of paraffin and mineral spirits to retreat your suit. Looks like you have smeared your suit in snot, but turn it inside out and toss it in a dryer for about 5 minutes and it comes out looking new with better-than-new water resistance.
I have the Flint & Tinder waxed jacket from Huckberry. It's one of my favorite pieces I own. It's $298 and made in the USA. However, the Thursday jackets are really nice as well.
I think it would be very helpful to potential buyers - If all reviewers would state their height & weight & size of jacket.(so many don't, you do) Even if you are not that exact height & weight, is far more helpful than subjective opinions about the jacket IMHO.
Thanks Derek. Flint and Tinder uses models of various heights and weights and displays what size they’re wearing (on their waxed trucker sales page) and I’ve always appreciated that.
