“Commute Boot” I like that phrase. I am a city boy. I do planes, trains, and subways. I love Chelsea style boots as a good walk around boot. They tend to be very comfortable. I highly recommend the style to any boot enthusiast. Because I live in cold winter city, the pull-on Chelsea does not work as well as an actual lace-up boot for year round use. My Chelsea boots became my “house boots”. They were my indoor/outdoor house shoes. They were my “goto” after work and on the weekends.

I ordered a pair of the Dukes due to all of the positive press they have been receiving online, & they just arrived today. They are beautiful boots, & they appear to be very well made. Unfortunately, they are not for me. I got them in an 11 Wide, and they are actually slipping at the heel, but too narrow at the front of my foot. It's also a shame that out of all of the RU-vid videos I've seen, not a single one mentioned that the insole isn't removable. I actually have prescription orthotics I will not be able to put into the boot. They are certainly fine looking boots, I just wish they made wider sizes, & had removable insoles.
I think most RU-vidrs don't mention anything specifically negative about Thursdays is because most reviews are just paid and there a lot of them. Thursday boots are just OK in my opinion.
I bought both. I got the Dukes in brown leather and the Cavaliers in Grey suede. As you said, the Dukes are more of an everyday boot and I wear them in inclement weather and when walking the dog. They are a bit clunkier looking than I’d expected but look good and are very easy to keep looking good with the leather. I love the look of the Cavaliers, both the material and the sleeker profile. I like to wear them for dressier occasions.
Just bought the cavalier's and will be sending back the cavalier's. they look like a women's shoe, super thin and feminine. Hoping the Duke will fit the bill.
For anyone that needs some help. I've tried the Dukes and the Cavaliers from Thursday boots. The Cavs are far too narrow for my wider feet. They just didn't look or feel right on my feet. The Duke's and the Legends are a much better option for guys with a wider foot IMO I have a pair of each and sent the Cavs back.
Unfortunately Thursday boots don't fit my foot and I had to return three different sized pairs. I will say the returns were very easy, and I was careful to try them on inside, so they were returned without any wear. I found the Duke was too loose in the heal.
you should check out the Thursday Cadet in Bison.. Only Thursday in Bison leather and the shorter boot is great for someone like me who lives in Florida where my big boots don't need to be worn much
awesome review ! im planning to buy the honey suede dukes, i own a pair of confort craftsman rm's size 7US, would you reccomend getting the same size for thursday dukes as well ? are thursday boots sizing the same as rm's ?
I got the Cavalier and I am looking to get the Duke as well now. I had to go a full size down in the Cav. How does the Duke fit? Do you think I should go a full size down as well or only the half size that Thursday recommends? Thanks!

Have done or can you do a review of the Thursday Vanguard in the waxed cacao? It has a Vibram sole and Cuban heel, which is unique in the Vanguard line .
Beckett Simonon has better quality leather, but not as comfortable and more expensive. Plus Thursday has greater variety of leathers. Can't go wrong either way
I've actually heard specifically that CAT boots are terrible. It's possible that Wolverine is responsible for manufacturing CAT boots -- I know they're separate companies, but I also am confident that CAT is just white-labeling their boots and they don't actually make the boots themselves. If there's any truth to a Wolverine/CAT partnership (I'm not saying there is...I have no idea), it'd just be Wolverine handling or outsourcing the production. In any case, I've heard that CAT work boots are no bueno. You're better off shopping with Wolverine, Red Wing, or even a newer brand like Brunt
I'm starting to think these content creators are paid by Thursday boots. The way their products are always pushed and talked about. There are many other brands out there but Thursday boots are always talked about. Happy to be proven wrong though
at some point, I'm sure I will. The Diesel is probably my favorite boot and the Brass is awesome too. I'm sure it's technically better than the Duke, but along with what @clintonmcool said below, the price is right on the Duke, and there's a lot of interest around these boots already, so the video can be more helpful for more people. But yes...I would love the try the Grant Stone Chelsea because they're a fantastic brand.
