Weston, Hey listen man, I'm concerned with your bandsaw practice and I'm telling you there is a better way. You need a bandsaw sled. Can I make you one and send it to you? I'm thinking you need one with hold downs to stabilize the uppers and the nature of the sled will prevent the sole from dragging. You'll have to do minimum set up when you receive it and I think 90% of that smoke will not be produced, the dragging and shifting during the cut will be eliminated and your cut quality will improve drastically. I need some info. What model is your saw and what blade are you using? Do you cut thru steel shanks with it? Did you set your bandsaw up properly before and after the blade broke in(they stretch enough to throw off alignment)? Send me that info and I'll make you a sled. I'll even send video instructions. I bought a pair if their Arizona Adobe rugged boots but with the regular Thursday sole about 2 years ago and they're holding up great. Now when I first received them I noticed that there was a bit of separation from the outsole and midsole (which has only gotten slightly worse over 2 years). I contacted Thursday and they told me to keep them and do what I wish with them and they're still going to send me a brand new pair. Awesome. I'm still wearing the first pair I bought and have a brand new pair in my closet to pull out once these are roached.

I really wanted to see the shank of this boot, as well as to see what the counter was made of. Thought it was a little weird how these details were skipped on a sponsored video.

These boots are absolutely killer. I'm a railroad supervisor, the role is rather unique with me spending half of my time in the field and half my time in the office. I got this exact pair with my company boot allowance to give them a shot out on the railroad, so far they have been perfect. They look nice when I have to attend meetings and do the usual admin office stuff, but they handle walking around in ballast, uneven terrain, hills, hard pavement/cement, shop environment shockingly well. It's nice to have some boots that can do two things at once without sacrificing too much. We'll see how they last until next year when my boot allowance is granted again, I'm sure they'll meet my expectations though

For what they are designed for (a casual daily wear, but not heavy use boot), they are really nice for the price they charge. If you need an actual work boot, there are certainly better choices in not too much more expensive boots or you could just get a pair of Nick's.

I worked a labor intensive job in these for about a year and they did well. The sole started to separate after a day where I absolutely thrashed them but it didn't continue to sperate after that day. I was impressed with these. Still have plenty of tread too

I have these boots in the same color and got super excited when I saw my exact model was being reviewed. And I have to say I agree with the video, these are great for traveling because they can do a little of everything and they're comfortable. These were never meant to be work boots.

Looks like the perfect winter commuter boot. As a Thursday boot owner, I would recommend hiking and working in them. They are tougher than they look and the wear and tear just ads to the character of the boot.

I see some people knocking Thursdays because they aren’t as durable or well made as other brands but that’s the thing…Thursday has never pretended to be something it’s not. Great looks, real leather, at an affordable price and that’s why I love them.

Would love to see a comparison between Thursday's men chelseas vs women chelseas! The chelseas for men are Goodyear welted, whereas for the women's equivilent, they are cemented. Would love to hear your take on it.

I have 4 pair of Thursday’s and I love them, they’re very comfortable and they look good as casual and a tiny bit dressed up. Overall im really happy with them and seeing what the look like cut in half is pretty cool

I got the Captain in Matte Black about 4 years ago. At the time, it was a ton of money to spend on a boot ($300 CAD after shipping and conversions)... but it was worth my investment. Look professional and casual at the same time. The matte finish gives it the casual look that most boots of the same kind do not have, which makes it easier for me to wear.

Thank you for disecting my exact boots! I love the lack of a break in period! Walked 3 miles on city cement sidewalks the first time I wore them without any blisters or pain. During the last major weather event I became rather disappointed with the Goodyear whelt. Put my foot into about 3 inches of water and immediately felt water seeping into the seam. As you state, these are casual (lifestyle one could say) boots better suited to pounding the urban and suburban environments than a job site. Good value shoes overall.

I have these in black for the past 3 years or so and they have held up well they are great for the office when it gets cold

I was just watching some Trenton & Heath videos on the Thursday Boot Captain and was wondering where your video on it was. Great timing, I'm buying a pair!

My first pair of welted footwear was a pair of Thursday Captains that my parents sent me after I landed my first real job out of school. The version they chose looks good enough to pass as a dress shoe. They held up to a resole better than I ever thought they would. I also have a pair from a similar brand called Wilcox that is also made in Mexico. Slightly higher price point but you get some interesting features $30-50 more than a pair of Thursdays.

Just got this pair about a week ago. Haven't worn them yet as I have other boots I'm still wearing. Now I'm excited to wear them after watching your video, maybe later when I head to work

Great video! I just bought a pair these for casual wear only. I think for $200, they are a great deal, being quite stylish and well made.

Pretty happy with the Whiskey "Rugged & Resilient" boots I bought. After three fairly short outings they started feeling really comfortable. Really no break in compared to my other boots. I don't expect it to be a problem long term because I don't wear them for work, just casual outings.

Earlier this year I spent a few months researching various boot companies trying to find a Chelsea boot that hit the perfect intersection between construction quality, cost, and style and ended up getting a pair of Thursday Duke Boots in black. Spent a few weeks with them in my cart weighing my options until I finally gave in and purchased them, and I've been super happy with them so far. Very comfortable and stylish, and the Goodyear welt has held up against puddles admirably. That said, I'd love to see you dissect them & other Chelsea boots to see how they compare. And also to selfishly validate my purchase so I can rest easy after shelling out $200 on boots.

As someone who works in the trades as a low voltage guy doing hi-fi audio and pre-wires I've been wearing mine mostly on sometimes off as a work shoe being that I have to be presentable for higher end customers and jobs and I've been totally satsified with mine. I have the lug sole ruff and tuff outer in tobaco and the amount that these have seen and still look good is shocking.

Thank you for your great thorough videos. It seems the toe cap keeps the creasing on mine to a minimum. There is actually a heavyweight stiffener and a leather liner that is not mentioned and is missing on my red wing heritage boots, which i love. In the category of heritage, i think we can include many dress shoes, loafers etc.

I have this boot in Whiskey red. I wear them mostly in poor weather. Its perfect for my winters and job (not construction) it’s all around a great boot.

I say it all the time, but I’m still impressed with Thursday. I wore my Captains for a month and beat them up and they’re only prettier. Happily in my rotation still

I bought their low top sneakers as my first pair and absolutely love them, I got a pair of boots for my wife this past Christmas and now I just had my pair of Captains arrive for my daily work shoe. Love them, just gotta break them in a little 😉. I think they're well worth the price

Have a pair of the Thursday Vanguards, essentially the made in USA version of these, and really like them. Also have a pair of the made in Mexico Legends with this same lugged outsole that I got for work and like them a lot as well. They’re not super heavy duty but my work mostly consists of walking around on fairly clean concrete and asphalt outdoors so they’re well suited for that purpose.

I've been hoping you would a video on the captains. I have been thinking about buying them for weeks now! Do wish you did the dress sole variant as well but that is $400+. Love your videos man one of my favorite channels ever!

I just bought a pair of those exact boot in the whiskey and I haven’t even worn them yet so I was very curious to watch this video and I agree that these are meant to be casual boots and that’s why they have skipped in all the perfect places and kept the quality in all the right places. I would very much like to see a video on Truman Boots from Oregon. I have purchased two pairs from them because I am so impressed with the quality and the price point and I will be buying several more I’m sure. I don’t know that I will buy Thursday again unless they create a significantly beefed up pair of boots like thicker leather and a real toe cap and a heavier in Seoul. I do like my Thursdays but they are a light duty boot that looks heavy duty. Another excellent video. Thank you sir.

I have the faux Dainite Captains in both brown and black. I'd be more comfortable wearing them with a sport coat and slacks than I ever would trying to use them for real work.

I have that exact model with that leather since last end of winter and i wear it in rain, mud and working in the garden and even some snow and they are holding very Wells.

I have a pair of Captain's but have only worn them a few times, nice dress-type boot. Also appreciate the hooks near the top, makes lacing them up quick and the waxed laces don't come untied easily. Just got another pair of their Stompers because I wanted a side zip boot for work (security guard in an office environment but uniform calls for black leather boot) but the zipper broke on me after two weeks. Thursday was great about a replacement, considering I didn't have the original box or their QC card. Of course the trick with zipper boots is to make sure they're not laced super tight, since the zipper is the failure point on them.

I'd be interested in seeing you review Miles & Louie shoes. I have a pair, they are super comfortable, and appear to be well made but there's nothing like seeing what's hidden inside.

Just got mine yesterday and wore them to work for the night. I must say, this boot was WAY more comfortable than the MITUSA Logger boot. The Logger was my first purchase from Thursday because I liked the style of it a lot more and I was not disappointed...BUT...The only issue I am having with it (Loggers) is that it rubs on the top of my foot right where the crease is by the toes, so each step is painful. Even with my foot in pain from the Loggers, the Captain was such a relief (plus I had to put on some mole skin). Instantly a more comfortable boot. I think the Loggers have a much thicker leather, so they will take a lot longer to break in. I will probably wear the Captains more often and the Loggers only when my feet feel like they can handle them. Both great boots and I regret nothing from either purchase. I will be buying more Captains in the future! So many LEATHER options! *update* - Logger boots are broken in and very comfy! They no longer rub on my foot skin causing sore spots. Just took a bit of time to shape to my foot I guess. These captains are also very comfy and look great. I made the mistake of putting a shoe cream on them, which darkened the leather some. I was unaware that the tobacco rugged and resilient leather behaves more like a sued leather and I will treat them as such in the future.

Thursdays are my day-to-day office boot for fall and winter. The price/value is nice, so I can buy a few pairs without breaking the bank. For me, they take a bit of breaking in. It's not going to be the longest lasting boot I have, but I didn't invest a small fortune into them, either.

Love the content, please continue what you're doing. I just got a pair of the Thursday Vanguard in French Roast. I was amazed at the quality of the materials for the $265.00 price point. I haven't seen make reviews on this boot. I don't know if anyone else has requested this boot be cut in half and evaluated, but I would love to see it. I'm curious as to what the few extra dollars and U.S. construction has made. Thicker leather? Real toe cap? Thanks for the consideration.

Hey Man, absolutely love the videos you have been putting out. I was wondering if you could do a review and cut of the Stetson Moto boots. I recently looked at them but haven’t heard a lot about the new Stetson line.

I got the Cadet style in tobacco a year ago to serve as a smart-casual walking boot - love that pair to bits as an introduction to Thursday boots, but I think my next pair will be one of these thicker sole styles, as I'm heavy on my heels and have almost worn through those thin Daynite-style soles in my first year :P (Or I mean, maybe I'll re-sole the ones I have with something thicker, who knows :P )

I only just sort of liked boots before I came across this channel. Now I'm drooling over boots online. That being said the channel stands on its own; Watching someone speak on things they're passionate about is good entertainment.

I think that Thursday not too long ago released their “logger” boot, by the looks it also has a faux toe cap and not a true one, but I’ve been really curious as to what’s in that particular boot as I’ve heavily considered buying it. Here’s hoping for a video on that one 🤞

I've been wearing a pair of captains for right around a year now and i love them with two exceptions, first it would be really nice if the tongue was connected to the sides a little because its really disappointing how shallow of water you can step in and have it come in via the sides of the tongue given the low profile of the boot overall. My second and much larger complaint is at only about 11 months of daily ware the heel section of the insole has worn through and is breaking apart.

helpful review of a really good value boot, I'm thinking of buying a pair of the Captain's with flat sole, I'd be wearing them as an everyday shoe really, nothing heavy duty, just smart casual with jeans...they seem ideal for that. I have the same model and color Thursday boot, less the rubber sole....I opted for the leather. When I take the pair in for some cleaning up the owner always comments how good the boots are. Coming from a shoe repairman, I thought that was quite the compliment!

They're great for what they are. I mean seriously guys, they're obviously a great urban, office work, take your significant other out to dinner type boot.

I have these, but mine are lighter... but they are tobacco. So that's interesting. They had an extra-wide available which is why I bought them. I basically put them on when I wake up, and take them off when I go to sleep. They stay on for basically everything in between. Really good traction on carpet, which is great when you really want to knock boots, these are awesome for transferring power... no more slipping and sliding!
