Depends on how severe his lactose intolerance is. Some people can just take medicine and be fine. Some can't touch it at all.

It has been mentioned in the show that Sheldon orders a pizza without cheese because of Leonard's lactose intolerance.

Because the script says that she does. Small Wonder was a more realistic sitcom than this show.

....but it's true, they don't throw parties.

Because he's got severe PTSD from how he was emotionally abused as a child, and he has trouble setting boundaries. It makes him an enabler for Sheldon's BS, however unwittingly.

⁠@@mcnwn8He didn’t turn out well. He lets everyone walk all over him, take advantage of him, and use him as an emotional punching bag and doormat, bc that’s how his mother taught him to live. He’s functional, not well, there is a major difference. And he SHOULD be in therapy, absolutely. And he invited Sheldon to be polite, but also bc he does genuine care about him and he doesn’t like to see his friend upset.

While that is true, the fact of the matter is it is unrealistic and entitled to expect the entire world to bend to your accommodations. Also in a healthy relationship there is give and take, which in this case would mean sometimes the friend group would accommodate Sheldon's needs and sometimes he would step out of his comfort zone for them. The issue is their dynamic is, for the most part, very unbalanced and unhealthy, because that's where the show derived most of it's humor from.

So what? Leonard doesn't have to keep accommodating Sheldon's problems. He's got his own life.

While he does have some things that keep him in these mannerism that aren't really in his control, you can actually tell a LOT of his worst behaviors come from him being absolutely spoiled by his family because they simply didn't know how to handle him. And that just made it worse cuz he then expects the same from everyone else.
