Hi, welcome and welcome back to Thursday Night Poetry. The stories I read here tonight are raw and explicit. This video reflects on coming of age during 9/11 in the USA, and contains mature themes. hasta la proxima, Mariandrea
So glad you are feeling better and coming back with this awesome poetry session! 🥰 I love hearing you read the poetry. There's such a strong and emotional cadence to it that makes it read so powerful. I don't read much poetry so I'm not too good at reading it with the right tones. How do you feel about the storytelling in poetry and how does it differ from novel format? I find not going towards it because I need to fill in the empty areas of the text. As always, I love this series. I feel like I'm listening to an audiobook! It's a little bit hard for me to connect to poetry because I am unfamiliar but you inspire me to try to pick up some and experience it myself. Maybe I'll reread ones you've done in these nightly poetry so I have more of a reference on how it should go! BTW I'm planning to read Woman of Light as part of Hispanic Heritage Month with you in October (for sure! maybe September if I get around to it)! I know you say you celebrate between Sept 16 - Nov 2nd! You know me, I like to plan ahead of time but wanted to let you know my plans hehe 💕
