Dr. Westin Childs I’ve had a mildly hoarse voice, throat irritation, and my swallowing isn’t quite right for over 8 weeks without illness. Thyroid ultrasound came back with two nodules 1x0.6x0.9 and the other 0.8x0.2x0.4 so not too big. Would you anticipate medical or surgical treatment to get relief from the symptoms? Thanks for all you do!

Hi Dr. They found a nodule on my thyroid , you mentioned neck pain. Can you have neck pain in the back area like from stress or poor posture ? Cuz I have pain in the back area , but not in the front. I was put on estrodiol estrogen patches and cream a few months ago and that was the worse thing I ever did cuz it made my TSH levels go so high and my anxiety got out of control 😭 I stopped the estrogen last week. I can't wait till it's out of my body. I'm 53 years old. Do you know how long it will be in my system ? 💔

I have ben having some bad pain in my neck for bout a year now & it's gotten worse & not only that I now have the pain on the other side too .I know my thyroid is not rite cause my Dr. told me several years ago & I do take medicine for that every morning .I told my Dr. that I was having so bad pain in my neck & he sent me to a thyroid specialist she saw the knots in my throat & I told her I have ben having some bad pains in my neck on both sides now & she told me that wasn't no big deal .I've not heard from her sense the day I saw her & that was months ago & the pain has gotten worse but the Dr.'s won't do anything about it .I don't know what to do now but just suffer with that awful pain .My neck is really tender to the touch too & if I'm not feeling the pain to bad at the time & somebody just touches my neck it makes it get to hurting pretty bad again .Dr. Childs do you know what I should do now ?

My thyroid was 8.9 cm. It is behind my sternum which is probably why my complaints about my swallowing and breathing issues were likely considered to be due to something else. Going through my chest to remove it was deemed dangerous due to a split-sternum surgery performed in 2009 and the possibility that the nodule was partially attached to scar tissue. A biopsy was negative. Because of not being given any positive suggestions on how to handle this problem and after doing a tremendous amount of research, my husband and I came across two less-invasive alternatives: radio frequency ablation and microwave ablation. Since radio frequency ablation requires using a sonogram while shrinking the nodule, but doesn't see through bone, I opted for the microwave ablation. It was done on Dec 21, 2023. As of today, I can tell an improved difference in my swallowing. My recent scan showed a shrinkage of a couple of cm's. Hopefully it will continue to shrink. I'll be seeing my surgeon again in six months; hopefully it will have shrank some more.

My biggest nodule is 6.5 cm, I have a few, all benign. Thyroid has been investigated and I'm waiting for surgery as it has pushed my windpipe over to one side. I can't see any lumps when I look at my neck but my whole thyroid is swollen and I kept feeling like something was stuck deep down in my throat, I also cough a lot, those were the only clues, all blood tests were normal so I was quietly confident it wasn't going to be cancer even before I got the all clear. It was a long road to get that though. If you're reading this and you're going through all the tests etc. Hang in there, remember chances are low that it's cancer, but do everything you can to get that confirmation as quickly as possible

One month later, it disappeared. What we assumed and did Leaky gut, autoimmune reaction. We did ABC. A// Stopped gluten. Stopped oatmeal. B// improved digestion, eg some ginger in meals C// Gut health and healing. Bone broth, the good one. Probiotics eg Yakult, and G-Niib. Every situation is different. FYR only.

I can tell you seem to be a really good doctor. Thanks for sharing. I was diagnosed with thyroid nodules back in June. I honestly believe this is the reason that I have been having issues swallowing food, drink, and my saliva. I started having issues swallowing in May, but it became very hard to swallow in June. I had to be hospitalized twice because of this in July. Because I couldn't eat or drink anything, and it caused me to be severely dehydrated. My doctor's dismissed me because they kept saying the nodules was too small. But I know I have NEVER had this issue before. I am scheduled for an ultrasound soon, and I pray they find out what's going on. So, I can be treated properly in Jesus name. I really thank God for this video. I know they are not very big, but they are on both sides, and it seem to be blocking or suppressing up against my food pipe. I thank God I can drink fluids, and eat a small portion of soft foods. But this have been very uncomfortable and draining for me. I just wished they listened to me sooner.

I am on a hashimoto's diet which has helped. Let me know if you want to connect on facebook.

I have four nodules. They range from .7 to smallest .2 cm. I have Graves’ disease (hyperthyroidism) and have been in remission since 2017. Remission doesn’t mean symptom free. I’m working on my gut health currently to strengthen my immunity. I have felt remarkable improvement in pain (inflammation) after quitting gluten and added sugar. I unprocessed my diet . I am considering using a castor oil pack to shrink nodules , but haven’t read the medical studies yet. I know others claim to have shrunk all types of cysts, nodules , fibroids etc with castor oil. I’ve scheduled a hormone evaluation with my gyno to confirm PCOS as I am very prone to a variety of growths. I’m not overly concerned about nodules , but I do consider them to be a symptom of soft tissue response and hormones. I’m trying to address one symptom at a time . I’ve seen private doctors and specialists and even they overlook the mildest of symptoms. I used to get a stuffy nose and had zero allergies. It wasn’t until recently when I eleminated gluten that the stuffiness went away. I was treating myself with antihistamines and decongestants never being warned about the risks decongestants pose to the thyroid. Those symptoms are gone with gluten and the joint pain is now non existent. This felt like experiencing a miracle. I would lose sleep after laying down at night and becoming stuffed . The stuffiness would trigger inflammation which would trigger already inflamed areas. It was a vicious cycle I broke . I used to experience years long stomach bloat despite being thin. I became prediabetic and even diabetic for a few months. I gave up sugar , also an huge inflammation trigger. My neck would hurt at night when I laid down and then my hip and then just every joint . I’ve since learned to note everything that I eat that causes the smallest of symptoms because having inflammation for years is non negotiable for me . I learned to live with it many years and not complain , since complaints fell on deaf ears. I’ve since learned to attune myself to my own symptoms and address accordingly. My next phase is energy and brain fog . It’s all just unacceptable and despite remission, I was waking to new symptoms everyday. After this year, I never want to return to an emergency room. I never want to feel so demeaned ever again. I have had labor pains and surgery pains , but nothing compared to the pain (contractions) that o felt in my lower abdomen combined with a gnawing in my stomach. It appears to be a mystery. I’ve since learned to help myself, since doctors won’t and my health was beginning to deteriorate with numerous symptoms including joint pain that is now gone completely. Thank god is all I can say. It is like experiencing a miracle after learning to accept everything that was happening to my body and just learning to live with it . Doctor’s will never make me give up again and feel helpless. Last week a cardiologist dressed me down for taking NAC after refusing his script that was causing me side effects . He literally dismissed me and said you don’t know what’s in that NAC. I asked if he knew what was in his multivitamin. Doctors are becoming a source of stress for me so I don’t plan to put myself through it if it can be helped by my own research and concerns. Beginning with addressing common culprits of inflammation. Sugar , processed diets , and gluten is making people Ill . It is an industry with clever marketing just like anything else .

I'm female & 56 yrs, I live in New Zealand. I had a 3.4 cm nodule, had a FNA & it tested benign in March 2023. I had health insurance that covered the cost of testing & the specialist suggested I have a lobectomy. I had neck pain but swallowing & voice were not affected. I went on the public health system wait-list & had surgery in March 2024. It was considered to be elective surgery as the surgeon suggested I could leave it unless it was concerning me. On testing after surgery it turned out cancer was present in the portion of removed thyroid. Nearly two months later I'm waiting on another appointment with the surgeon to find out CT scan results & discussion on what type of cancer was present.

I was sent for an UT because I’m slightly hypothyroid and showing no antibodies in labs for hashimotos (which my mom has.) UT showed I had multiple nodules and the largest was only 1.7cm. Radiology said it didn’t meet requirements for FNA. I pushed and Dr said ok for the largest nodule. So happy I listened to my gut because it was malignant with PTC. I was told full thyroidectomy and RAI, but after researching I wasn’t sure about that. I went for a 2nd opinion to the Clayman Thyroid Cancer Center here in Fl and had new UT and consult. I’m now post-op 3wks and happy to report I kept half of my thyroid and no RAI. Cancer was only in one nodule and no lymph nodes. The only symptom I had was hoarseness here and there and mild hypothyroidism. Never would have known without the UT & FNA. Be your own advocate and research what you can.

My larger one keeps swelling, going down then swelling again. It caused pain to the middle of my throat when swallowing, yawning sneezing etc. my blood work shows my thyroid is producing more than it should but not dangerous amounts. It’s scary. But I know it’s treatable. The FNR wasn’t to bad, considering you have several needles going into your throat. The pushing of the ultrasound wand hurt way more. Dr tried to dismiss it but I insisted something was wrong. She finally sent me for an ultrasound. I have 5 nodules. 2 little ones ( smaller than 1cm) and 3 more ranging from 2.4 to 3.4 cm. Here’s my thyroid cancer story. Been on ever increasing amounts of levothyroxine for the past 20 years. Had an mri for my neck pain and there was an incidental finding of a thyroid nodule. Had a fine needle biopsy on the right nodule. Negative for cancer. Decided to have surgery to remove the right half of thyroid. They send the removed thyroid to the lab before they close me up. If it’s cancerous, they will remove my left half. Lab report indicated no cancer. Closed me up. Later in the week after a closer look from the lab, found cancer in the nodule. Two weeks later, went back under to have the left half removed. The nodule in the left half was also cancerous. Had to do a radioactive iodine treatment that made me radioactive for about a week. Had to stay in my room. Every six months I get an ultrasound and bloodwork. Last time, they found a lymph node that was enlarged. Did a fine needle biopsy. Did not fine anything. But not feeling warm and fuzzy.

I have had an enlarged thyroid since I was at least 17. I noticed it growing a lot through college, but never had health insurance to get it checked out. I am 30 now and finally able to look into it. There are two in there, one on each side, and one of them is quite large (6cm) and they are apparently benign. However, I have noticed swallowing feels "heavy" and hear my voice getting progressively more hoarse since college when I first noticed the growth, so I would like to get them removed. I read about radiofrequency ablation as a way to non-surgically treat thyroid nodules and wondered what your thoughts were on this. Another interesting side note, I also have had symptoms of PCOS since 17 and have recently been officially diagnosed with both that and hyperthyroidism/graves disease. I find this interesting because they both do kind of the opposite thing to the body metabolism-wise and apparently it is a relatively rare combo. I have been treating my hyperthyroidism with methemazole and have not sought treatment for the PCOS yet outside of cosmetic treatment. My doctor says I am just barely in the range for both diagnosis and thinks there is a chance my body could be weaned off of methemazole and self-regulate. I have definitely noticed that I gain weight easier since being on the meds, though I have always been overweight. Would love to hear any thoughts you may have on this, even though it is an older video!

However, if it gets too big, should not block breathing or swallowing. To prevent thyroid issues, make sure you are getting iodine in your diet. Iodized salt is NOT a good source of iodine.

Hi Doctor, this is March 4th, 2022 so a bit late in viewing this video! I had a CT chest scan (part of my wellness checkup) and my lungs were okay - no worries. However, the CT scan showed nodules on my right thyroid and my left thyroid: two 2cm nodules on the right, and one 10mm nodule on the left. The Endocrinologist did ultrasound and then ordered FNA biopsies on all nodules. The cytology lab (Veracyte) report indicates the right nodules are benign. But the left nodule biopsy came back as non-diagnostic: the sample contained no follicular cells, only blood. The report does state the following: "Solid, Hypo-echoic with Micro-calcifications. Recommend repeat FNA." My layman's research tells me that if a nodule, regardless of size, has one or more of the above referenced conditions, the probability of malignancy is above 90%. As the nodule is small, I have not experienced any of the symptoms described in your video - but I am scheduled for a repeat FNA biopsy next week. Another wait and see for me ...

Well that's me worried. After seeing a video on thryoid massage I decided to give it a try. I had noticed previously that one half of my lower neck was swollen but my spine is out of alignment and I thought it was due to my shoulders not being level. I have hypothyroidism. Anyway, during the course of the massage I found a sizeable lump. Since doing the thyroid massage the lump has been very sore and very obvious. I also have level II lymphadenopathy on the right side of my neck (just under the jaw bone) and that is painful to touch. I wasn't worried until I watched this video. I'm 50.

I have gone to the doctor.. because I have been coughing up black sputum. It’s beyond gross!!! Someone told me a collapsed lung.. got an X-ray and they say my lungs are clear.. how can this be when I can’t breathe I am constantly coughing.. I can’t even actually cough sometimes just push the air out cuz I just don’t have the power to cough… and chunks come out… I have talked to 4 doctors. They all say I am fine yet everyone around me keeps telling me I need to go get checked before it’s too late… I have been dealing with this for years!!! Like 7 or 8 !! And the last year or so and especially the last few months. It has gotten much worse.. it flares up. I feel the ball in my throat. It gets difficult to breathe I can’t cough it up.. This last couple months I have really been able to pay attention to the symptoms and the patterns.. the ball builds in my throat.. Deep down . And then after a few days of struggling with it.. it will finally break up. And then I could up black sputum it looks like a bunch of hairs… but it’s not…the chunks will shoot out of my throat when I cough.. I can feel the chunks move up my throat with each cough. I can pinpoint where they are stuck and sitting … doctors continue to brush me off. And now it’s reached the point of me having had an ear ache and horrible pain leading from my neck up to my ear.. and it did not go away for a week and a half… the pain switches sides… same with in my lungs… i have this horrible pain in my head way to often.. and it’s not like my normal headaches … I can feel this is something else.. everything I researched need with cancer.. lung then thyroid then brain… my vision and hearing come and go… and my memory has gotten much worse.. I will be talking and I’ll say the wrong words.. Like hey go grab the umbrella… huh?? That’s not what I meant to say.. grab the pickles… umbrella??? This is what was happening to my uncle before he died of brain cancer… and this just started for me in the last 4-6 months.. I can feel when my lungs are having issues .. and I can’t ever really breathe .. constantly catching my breath and I am a very active person… well use to be and try to be.. but things are getting to the point where…. I get too light headed… or I just can’t get my body to stop aching .. it’s not on the inside! It’s inside I told the doctor. I don’t want pain meds!! I want answers… something.. even a suggestion. That isn’t dirt or dust… ITS NOT DIRT! I’m going to be 34 on the 9th which ppl think is too young to deal with this stuff.. hopefully it true!! But what is going on then?? My X-rays came back clear .. lungs and heart good… what!!? All there is left is my thyroids… after that I’m at a complete loss! I need help. And can’t find anyone to actually care to listen.. Im tired of feeling like I am dying. I’m tired of coughing non stop and having everyone give me crap for it.. I don’t smoke don’t drink… I’m an active and healthy person for the most part I like to think.. but .. cancer .. all cancers .. brain, cervical, thyroid, bone, breast, cancer has taken everyone in my family so far! Both sides. And everyone is quite young when they pass… in their 50’s and up.. and most of what I have researched… is ppl get brushed off so much!! And by so many doctors that by the time they find someone to listen it’s too late.. they can do the surgery.. but it’s still fatal within a few years.. I think 5?? If your lucky. I also have this cyst or boil… of some sort that slowly grew over the last year or two… it’s now a good 4 cm it’s a nice large bulge on my back right on or near my shoulder blade … and I have white spots all over my body… like dry skin patches.. they started and I got brushed off… told it’s a reaction to lotion or soap… nope.. it’s gotten worse and worse over the years.. started as a few spots on my stomach… then I noticed some patches on my back… and now… it’s like I’m a dang cheetah… or like I’m recovering from a bad sunburn… it itches always… I also have a bunion that has really been growing a lot this last year… and causing me tons of pain.. I don’t think these are linked.. but I didn’t think the cyst was either then I read something about that being from my lung… and I also have a what feels like muscle tissue on my right arm pit where the boob starts.. it’s not on the other side.. it’s the size of a golf ball.. but not a circle. Ppl don’t really understand what I am talking about when I try and show them.. so it also gets brushed off. It use to hurt really really bad when It first appeared… but not so much now… the cyst on my back hurts all the time.. itches inside.. and feels like I’m being stabbed again and again right into the center of the thing! … I am totally fine that they said my test results came back clear… however… what is going on then??? What could this be?? Just some sort of fungal infection gone untreated for so long?? I can’t keep coughing like this. I can’t even hold my bladder anymore.. when I cough .. when I get the urge even.. it’s like I think oh hold it and my body says .. what?? And can’t use that muscle… I can sometimes… but it’s getting so much worse… and more frequent.. I use to hold my bladder as long as I needed and now.. as of the last… 4-6 months…. It’s stopped…. When my body decides it’s gotta go.. it’s gotta go! I’m too young to wear diapers! I need to know what going on… I have also been passing blood clots for the last months. Sooo….. please tell me I’m fine like the doctors… or just tell me they are not doing their job and I’m not crazy. Lol. Everyone is on me to go in and get checked because everyone can clearly see there is something going on.. so why do these doctors keep dismissing me…. Why do they keep giving me these bills when they aren’t even giving e any sort of results… the one “doctor” had me go in and get a breast exam. Cause she said it could be breast cancer.. I’m like what??? Did the test the doc laughed and said why are you in here??? I don’t want to see you again till your mid 40’s … soooo.. if my chest and lungs and heart are all good… all that’s left is my thyroids or brain right??

I have lump on the left side of my throat, it doesn’t hurt right there, but it pulsates. I get severe palpitations where I’m confused if I’m having a heart attack. I can feel my heart I’m my throat. Last 30 minutes to an hour sometimes. Where I hurt, it’s like a lump stuck in my throat but I can swallow. And throat pain, ear pain, only on the left side. Trips urgent care for short of breath, and by lympnodes and thyroid were checked… they said normal but this lump was there. That was a week ago. The palpations happen 3/4 times per day. But I feel like my throat where my throat is lumpy like a spine, so I don’t understand how this is considered normal. I see an ENT on Monday but last minute told work so I can get in. At this point, I feel crazy and might just cancel. And the lump I can’t tell if it’s a lump or artery. But it’s like 2 fingers wide. I don’t wish I could post a picture.

Saw a Doctor named Trina all the way at ucsf for neck pain, they found 4 nodules. 3 pretty small but one is 3.2 cm. After a very uncomfortable and at times painful fine needle aspiration procedure where they went in three times I am in the clear but to be monitored. Their onsite lab had reviewed all slides and have results ready within 48hrs! The tenderness and painful discomfort I am still currently feeling after that is differing upwards toward to the exact place I was mentioned at initial appt for why I was there in the first place. I told doctor Trina about the correlation I was able to make with the now agitated nodule causing a more intense version of what i was feeling and she literally told me 3.2 is not that big and I probably don't feel it just unrelated pain in the region from my autoimmune disease. I can tell the difference. I can feel it when I swallow now like a lump deep in my throat specifically because it is so extra sore making it stand out more dramatically. Reading quite a few of these comments makes me feel more familiar with whats going on and more eager to be heard by the dr's. I felt so not heard. I am a UCSF patient for a very rare and painfull auto-immune disease and saw these doctors on referral from my main Doctor who is amazing.

I seem to have an active nodule. 😩 And I always seem to fall in the “extremely rare” category. I just had a video call with a Endocrinologists. I told him I go back and forth with symptoms of hyper and hypo. I have 7 nodules. I asked him if a nodule could be leaking because I had an extreme episode after the thyroid ultrasound. The ultrasound was painful, and a few hours after it I felt really nervous. Then at 2 am, I woke up to throbbing neck pain and my blood pressure and heart rate were racing. It was terrifying!! It’s happened before, and no one seems to be able to explain it. It seems like any time someone has pushed on my neck or I’ve had a surgery it happens. I then deal with hyper symptoms for about a week then back to normal to hypo symptoms. The report states: “The largest nodule is: 2.5 x 2.1 x 1.9 cm with vascular it’s noted. This lesion displays a TI-RADS score of 2 consistent with no suspicious lesion. Consider follow up in 1 year.” He didn’t seemed concerned with my nodules, especially because they haven’t grown from the previous year, but he was very perplexed by the extreme issues of my blood pressure. He was probably 70, and he said he’s never encountered blood pressure issues like I have. 🤦🏻‍♀️ After listening to this video, I’m worried. I think a nodule leaks, and I don’t know what to do. Any answers? How would this condition be treated? Thanks

I have no symptoms (it was never shown if my onset of heart palpitations was related). I am 51 with no family history of thyroid cancer. I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma. How I came to this diagnosis was incidental to treating another condition. I experienced heart palpitations and had a CT chest scan which showed not only atrial flutter but indicated two suspicious nodules about 1 cm in size. (I could never get an answer as to if my atrial flutter was caused by a malfunctioning thyroid). Results of follow up ultrasound indicated they were suspicious for carcinoma. It also revealed enlarged lymph nodes which were suspect for PTC. I had a biopsy done on the nodules. One out of 6 samples came back positive for PTC. I also had the lymph nodes biopsied. They came up benign, but thyroglobulin wash indicated elevated thyroglobulin levels in the samples collected. I give my endocrinologist a lot of credit for being persistent. She saw something suspicious and it seems to me that cancer was found at a very early stage given only 1 sample came up positive and the nodules were only 1 cm in size. (Although it grew to a size of 1.7 cm in 3 months as noted in a subsequent CT scan).

I have no symptoms and I recently had blood work, all normal including TSH. I'm going to an endocrinologist this week and of course I'm worried.

Can you talk more about lymphnode swelling with a nodule. I had affirma and thyroseq genetic sequencing when my FNA Biopsy came back indeterminate too. Fortunately both genetic were ok. Can you talk about radio frequency ablation too.

My thyroiditis went undiagnosed for years even though i was suffering from so many symptoms. Heart palpitations, heat intolerance, chronic hives, and most of all terrible joint and soft tissue pain. It took 10 years and 18 doctors to figure out i had hashimotos. By the time it was discovered i ended up with thyroid cancer and had to have my thyroid removed. Im miserable 4 years later!

They discovered a nodule that had no blood supply on my thyroid. They wanted to do a biopsy but I refused.This was about 12 years ago. I believe tumors and nodules are there to protect you by isolating the cancer cells and toxins if there. Puncturing it with a needle may cause it to spread. I've heard a doctor say this too.

I was diagnosed with a benign nodule measuring 0.8 cm. in 2017. It felt like a pea was lodged in my throat and I was getting a fizzing/popping sensation. It freaked me out! I have been following up with an ultrasound every year to ensure it is not growing/changing. In August 2020 I was having discomfort every day and researched how to relieve nodule size/discomfort naturally. I found a medical study claiming spirulina/curcuma/boswellia in specific doses is shown to reduce nodule size. I tried it and got wonderful success. Not sure if I should continue taking long term or intermittently.

At age 12 I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I have nodules in my thyroid and I'm 30 Years old now. I took 75 mcg Levothyroxin all this years and I beg my doctor to give me Armour medication since I have so many symptoms and gained 25 lbs without changing my diet or exercise. (I've been on keto diet & starving myself and I wouldn't lose weight) He prescribed Armour 30 MG which looking at the chart I'm under dose from taking Levothyroxin 75 mcg. He also suggested a biopsy since I've had nodules from a young age... I've been desperate trying to find ways to feel better and doctors treat me like I'm crazy since my TSH looks ok... I wish I could book an appointment with Dr. Childs but I know he's not taking patients. Can you guys recommend a thyroid expert that you had success working with ??

I had major problems breathing even with cpap. Feeling like breathing through a straw, even when standing up. I took my doc meds to make T4 (levothyroxine) a little bit at a time. Swelling went down over a few days. I started taking a iodine supplement too. Very very scary not being able to breathe.

Ask your Endocrinologist about the Afirma Genomics test that can be run. If the FNA comes back “indeterminate” twice, they can run this test which will really help.

Hello. I just came across this video and I'm having an ultrasound on my neck on Monday but I havent come across anyone who's had a lump where mine is... My lump is more under my jaw on my left side of my neck. Roughly just over 2cm in size, quite solid. I do occasionally get a husky voice and I have a constant cough with it.

I feel like kind of feels like a half inch wide vertical line coming up alongside of my Adam's Apple it's tender to the touch almost feels like a sore muscle I have no other symptoms such as cough fatigue trouble swallowing breathing or anything like that I do however have an ear infection. Unknown whether that's connected and while being diagnosed with the ear infection found one slightly swollen lymph node in the corner of my neck on the right side which also is the side of the Adam's apple that feels in pain or inflamed. One thing I am confused about is it doesn't stay that way the last time I felt this way like today was a day before Christmas. It's now the 29th I also have pretty bad health anxiety so any sort of feedback letting me know what you think would actually be really nice thank you so much

I had 8 total of nodules and one is more than 5 cm 3 cm and rest are smalls. On the ultrasound they seen the largest one is a full mass and also some of the rest are. My dosctor didn’t recommend to do a biopsy even all my Tsh are all normal. As of him because of the sizes and my thyroid is almost full of nodules he did recommend me to do Total Thyroidectomy.

Hi im 33 and a mother of 4 young children. I have 2 nodules on my thyroid. My Doctors are sending me in circles and telling none of my symptoms have to do with these nodules on my thyroid. Ive had a biopsy on both thay came back benign. 2.6 cm and 1.9cm and my right side thyroid is swollen to 17cm volume. The left looked normal with a 3.9cm volume...so you can see how much bigger the right side is. I feel exhausted and dizzy 24/7 (feels like vertigo) nausuous, memory loss and major brain fog, im really thirsty but not dehydrated. My forhead is having spasms amd my nose and lips tingle here and there. I feel like im being chocked and like there is a lump in my throat. My voice is horsey since i got my biopsy done...i feel depressed and very anxious everyday. Me and my husband want another baby and i cant get pregent i dont know if this has anyhting to do with it. My Calcium and Albumin are high and my phosphorus is low. Everybting else blood wise looks normal. I've been to 2 Doctors, and they have told me that my symptoms have nothing to do with the two masses growing on my thyroid. I have done so much research and everything I have found says my symptoms are from the masses on my thryroid. I have read that if I get half of my thyroid removed ill go back to feeling nornal again...i just want to feel normal again. I cant live like this any longer. Im desperate and not sure what to do anymore. Its effecting my day to day life. Please help guide me in the right direction.

How did it all turn out for you?
@christimora89
@christimora89 2 месяца назад
@@theartesana it turned out to be papillary thyroid cancer. They removed the entire thyroid and there were three total nodules on the thyroid. They also removed 23 lymph nodes along the right side of my neck. About 6 months later, there we’re still signs of cancer so we moved forward with radioactive iodine, which was a lot more painful than I expected. Then about a year after that, I had to have follow-up surgery to remove more cancerous lymph nodes in the neck area. I’m about a year out from my last surgery and things have remained pretty stable and I’m hoping they stay that way.

What if I had an ultrasound 1.5 years ago that was .7 cm’s in size. Then when I got an ultrasound over 1 year ago it was 1 cm in size. It was rated as T4 at that time (mostly solid with vascularity). About 4 weeks ago I started having pain in the front of my neck that woke me up at night (lasted one week and then went away). Then the last 3 days I started having that pain again but it was much more severe. I called the Endocrinologist to schedule an appt and the earliest Appt is 2.5 months out! The person I spoke with said for me to go to the ER if I don’t want to wait that long. The symptoms I’ve been having is: severe pain pushing on my neck, pain and pressure on my voice box making it hurt to talk, occasional swallowing problems, and slight burning pain in that part of the as of today. A few times I felt the need to cough from the pain also. Could a benign nodule cause pain in the neck or would this indicate a stronger likelihood for malignancy? Do my symptoms warrant a visit to the E.R. to be seen sooner?

I’m currently still in active treatment for breast cancer & a recent CT Scan revealed 2 nodules on my thyroid. One of the two is apparently worrisome and requires a biopsy. I’m very concerned because of the breast cancer diagnosis. My BC was not found in my lymph nodes so that is positive but I am still really nervous. 😩
