Onshape can be used to create 2D geometry suitable for laser cutting when exported as a DXF. This guide shows you a few ways to achieve this which are simple and easy.

Thank you so much! I had no idea I could export so easily... now I can design parts to be part lasercut and part printed!

Once you create the DXF file, how do you send it to the laser?

Depends on your laser. Most lasers come with their own software. This software can then import the dxf. If it doesn't do dxf, you can convert it to svg using something like inkscape.
