And a couple of steps away the harpies are waiting to sing their song. Makes you think the dev team split and this was the musicians' corner of the map. :D

Yea, not gonna lie, when the song really began my jaw dropped and I did tear up a bit, seriously wasnt expecting that.

I won't lie: the song brought a tear to my eye as well.

Just WOW! Never thought a song could sell a game... This one did.

There's such an intricacy to the lyrics too. Because the line "Moon reminds me of your grace" ends in the "ace" sound, halfway through the next line you star to anticipate "All the love I can't replace." But she breaks the rhyme scheme and pivots slightly, choosing "All the love I can't repay." The change is almost symbolic, like she was going to focus on her grief, her loss, which would be normal. Instead she chooses to regret that she can't give back the love she received anymore, to be grateful for the time they had together. Breaking from the standard rhyme takes you in a despairing direction only to pull you out at the last second. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but it may be the most clever piece of lyrical artistry I've ever heard.

In the full release I REALLY REALLY want her to be an optional companion....

When you save the Tieflings she is in your Camp with the refugees. :)

I love this game so much! Reminds me of Lohse singing after recovering her voice. I couldn’t agree with you more, I heavily recommend Divinity Original Sin 2 for any who hasn’t played it! Baldur’s Gate 3 too for that matter, though it sounds like it’s going to be in early access for a while.

They improve this scene so much, it looks a bit janky here but it's so smooth now, it feels like prerendered cutscene

I've met her...and I've failed to keep her safe in my own solo playthrough...and it hurts...so bad...her story sucks...not because it's poorly written...but because it's written too well. And I'm too invested. And it broke my heart to lose her at the Last Light Inn.

The full release of the game saw a redo of the song. I have heard it at least 10 times now and I can tell you that the few minor mistakes made in this rendition are gone and she sounds a lot better. I'm not saying she sounds bad here it's beautiful but from a technical perspective there are mistakes and some flat moments and the newer version is simply incredible.

As much as I adore Astarion above all the other currently available followers... ...if Alfira becomes a follower, I'm going lesbian for her instead!

The final cut of this scene in the official game is stunningly beautiful.

This was one of the most single majestically alurring moments I've ever felt in a game that I haven't experienced since I was a kid.

After every major patch they do, I make a save right there so I can always come back to it. I can’t wait until they do more with her in the game.

Heh, you weren't kiddin' about being a Toreador irl, eh? The game's OST is really something, I still listen to the DoS2 OST from time to time, "Sing for me" and "Divine's Lament" in particular are songs I keep returning to.

Watching this now it's amazing how far the game has come since early access. Much better stage on release, and incomparably better reactions from the player characters.

Ah, I thank you for this... I just listened to the horrible singing and walked away. Can go back and enjoy the sidequest for what it is. And the D:OS II soundtrack is pretty good, now I listen to it. Think it's an omage to the composer of the original D:OS soundtrack (who passed away in 2015)?
