Oh, almost forgot. The reason the PAS was introduced so long after the PAM & PAF is because the mare & foal were originally supposed to be paired with the FAS. But since the PAM & PAF looked more like Arabians than the FAS it was decided to create a new stallion that was more typey to match them.
So glad to see my favorite mold, the PAS, was added to the A tier! I absolutely love this fellow. Growing up in the 1970’s my friend’s grandfather bred Arabians & his 3 stallions looked almost exactly like the PAS. He bred true Arabians that could do anything & do it all day long without any ill effects. They had strength, endurance, intelligence & gentle natures. I’m heartbroken that todays halter breeders have destroyed the Arabian breed with squished “seahorse” faces & toothpick legs. So I am happy to see that you prefer the PAS to Ashquar. I’ve shared the link to your channel on Model Horse Blab since I’m not on Facebook. Some ideas for content are a tour of your collection with the backstories on some of the models. Hunting for Breyers at antique shops, swap meets & stores. Unboxing vids are always fun. I’d love to see how you prep for shows & choose the models to take plus video of the actual shows. I’ve subscribed so I’ll be watching it all & look forward to doing so.

Maybe I need to touch a flockie whenever I next see one in person, because they look so coarse, and I think that's part of why I'm concerned by them. Eustis has quite a following, especially for his draft horses, so this is where that auction nostalgia/enthusiasm comes from. He sold many molds of his own design in an unusual ceramic/latex compound material, custom painted per order, predating resins. I have an old book on draft horse breeds illustrated partly with photos of his work, "The Gentle Giants." There is/was a smaller room at the Museum of the Horse at the KY park lined with shelves of his work.
Thanks for your comment! It sent me on a bit of a Google dive into Francis Eustis' work. I guess I'll never really be a fan of Roy, but wow - his other work is quite fantastic! That definitely puts the enthusiasm in a better perspective. :)
Could you maybe do a video about the show you went to? I don't hear about shows for older, not so perfect models as much and would be curious to hear about what it is was like/how it went.
Aww my first Breyer Running Stallion at least he made it higher than "F". He was the popular Black Blanket Appaloosa I had in the 1970's. We didn't have as realistic looking models like they do now. Compared to what else was out there these guys were top of the line and the best. But I am enjoying these tiers and seeing the other variations of each model you've done so far! I'm looking forward to seeing your take on the Classics/Freedom series horses! Will you do animals as well? Keep up the good work!
Seeing the evolution of the models towards being more realistic over time is definitely part of the fun! Although, I will admit I really like some of the less detailed guys, as you'll see in one of the next few videos. ;) I probably will cover the non-horse animals in a separate video, as I enjoy many of them. I currently have a (rather basic) bear and a bison, and hope to add a moose at some point!
@@ECRHorses1901 Cool. I have a bear from the Mesteno sets and the mountain lions and wolf from them. I recently got lucky and was chosen for Garrett the Piebald deer, he's so pretty. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us!
