I still marvel at the sight of this car, it's a timeless classic

Typical TV companies! Channel 5\Fifth Gear dumped Tiff for a younger audience and now uploading his videos from 17 years ago. SOOO dis-respectable to Tiff. These TV companies need to listen to fans and viewers not themselves

I have not watched many Fifth Gear reviews, but that is one of the best reviews of a first generation allmost supercar I have seen. To the point on it's strong and weak points. This review holds up 15 years, kudos to Nedell!

Trivia: At 2:30, that is the exact SLR(RX53 KHP) that was used in a Top Gear review by Jezza Clarkson from 2004( Series 4, ep 2).

One night, a long time ago, I passed Paris Hilton's Mercedes slr McLaren parked outside of Tramp nightclub in London. Apparently she wrote it off. Beautiful car.

My first dream car along with the diablo gtr

Still want one of these but with a lot of work thrown at it from Lazante or MSO; new modern gearbox, modern brakes that aren't a maintenance nightmare and a more modern but still tasteful interior (eg get rid of the phone and add some USB ports and bluetooth audio). Everything else is golden.

Outstanding...

This and SLS are my favorite road cars hands down, powerball purchases...

Such an aged interior. These have such a weird pulsating exhaust tone. Plus, how on earth did it get to 1800kg using CF body!

You KNOW you're being taken to the cleaners pricewise when a button with direct access to the factory customer service is also sold to you as something unique and special. Its a bloody blue button with a pre-programmed phone number behind it. WOW. BUT it's blue and it has a spanner printed on it. A bit like the Spanners who will bought them.

It's cost 20 grand just to change the spark plugs because you have take out the half of engine out

Interior now looks cheap and tacky but the engine still sounds like thunder

V8 sound is the best

The SL65 AMG Black Series made in Germany 🇩🇪 is better, cooler and faster. But love the SLR.

For 337k I would expect the interior to be more than plastic it all seems a bit cheap

The last McLaren to actually sound good unlike today's potato sounding 720S.

SLR is that exciting Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde unike BMW 6/8-series that never reached to become such crazy entertaining split personality per recipe take 50% of Merc CL+ 50% of Dodge Viper and leave it with British saying that Borussia Dortmund is better than Manchester United….. because Munich guys did not dare going to experts like Merc went to McLaren for confrontation that based on SLR success later inspired AMG how to make further Merc super-cars…. SLR is one of those 1-occurrence miracles like Lex LFA was and never ever can happen again….

This was my dream car when I was 14, but looking at it now hasn't aged the best and the SLRs interior looks just awfull and doesnt look 350k at all 😳

Kinda lackluster interior design for such a car and brand.

This car is awesome, but back in 2005, I'd have rather had a Ferrari Enzo, Maserati MC12, Porsche Carrera GT, and Ford GT. Mercedes lost this hypercar generation.

the front is fantastic alongside the sideprofile first half of the car,but the rest and the interior is just plain ugly..
