In this video I wanted to give an example of one possible TIG setup that would allow you to get started TIG welding with a stick welder, or with the many welders that offer lift start TIG welding in addition to stick. This is just one example. There are lots of options and lots of ways to accomplish this, but I wanted to at least give one example to give people an idea of what's out there.
Any support is appreciated. Thanks!

Excellent option, and thanks for sharing! How does the HONE 185 perform as a TIG or rather, Lift TIG welder?

I have been planning to use this TIG setup to test a bunch of cheap stick welders as TIG welders and do a video about it, but I haven't had time. I've been crazy busy the last few months, and it's not likely to change much, unfortunately. But I'll keep plugging away on the videos. The Hone 185 is one I will be testing in that video.

Where did you get the dinse 35 to 25 adapter? I’ve been looking for them but cannot find them.

The one I showed is Tweco brand and I got it at Bakers Gas (ordered through their website). But I've also seen them on Amazon branded Hitbox or something like that. bakersgas.com/collections/all/products/tweco-w4017500

This setup is for stick welders or basic TIG welders that don't have a built-in gas solenoid (which is the reason for the valve on the torch) or any option for remote contactor control. This would be used for lift-start or scratch start applications. You are correct that you couldn't use a torch switch to manually "pulse" the current and cannot turn it on/off. You have to lift or scratch start (according to what the welder supports) and "snap out" at the end of the weld. If you are using a dedicated TIG welder then it may have an option for a torch switch or foot pedal, and in that case, what you use will depend on the specific welder and application.
