That last one especially this country to a certain degree will forgive you no matter what especially if you are winning. Kobe Bryant 2004 I said it back then people opinion will change when he win one or two championships
Although I'm extremely impressed with Tiger's extraordinary talent in golf and his amazing achievements, I'm even more impressed with his mental strength and resiliency. After a public scandal like he went through most people would have wilted. However, Tiger not only came back from that crazy scandal but even more epic is he came back from multiple back surgeries including spinal fusion surgery and won the Masters at 43 years old!
@callmecatalyst i dont know about that...but every Docu series involving celebrities or just people who achieve the highest peek of success...always seem to have this battle..where .the world (members of society / press /tabloids)..just enjoy taking them down...
@@speakingtruths4215 Not getting married would have solved his mental issues in his game from 2010-2012 ish but most of this last decade, it was Tiger's body that couldn't handle it and that had nothing to do with being married. His issues stemmed from the example his father set while growing up. Tiger was not mentally prepped for good decision making and so he had the wrong people around him in his early 20s when nothing but temptation existed for him. And then I assume we'll see in part 2 that Tiger losing his dad made him want to learn more about military ops and that + his addiction to the gym ruined his body.
Tiger Woods even during the height of the scandal when returning to the Masters in 2010 he was still praised, people were rooting for him. He finished T4
Ended perfectly. The man has lost more, won more, hurt more, defied more, and changed more than any athlete ever on and off the course. Special special human
@@bazzakrak I do think we'll see him crawling around...im hopefully the drug days are over...but bruh, I get that your "back feels better" and yes you won a major which is amazing...but clearly, hes at like 70%...he can't practice as much as he needs to, he's constantly in pain after a tournament, he can't play more than just the majors...I mean come on tiger, If ur not gonna be in contention due to your injuries, at this point, I think it makes more sense to walk away so you can keep playing with and helping Charlie with his game, if he wants to go beyond a recreational golfer, he's gonna need his dad to not be disabled to wear he can't play or swing a club I just always feels if ur less than 90%, you can't be playing your sport...I do think he's capable of winning majors still IF HE CAN PRACTICE AND GET IN TOURNAMENT VOLUME...but he can't, so yeah, one day I think we'll see.him crawling around probably on pain pills, wondering what was the point of all those missed cuts in the majors for the final years of his career while he has to watch from the sidelines while someone else plays with and coaches Charlie... I hope not, I love tiger woods...but man, that bsck is not good, and im.sure he's on pain meds...the more he pushes the more pain he's in the more pills he needs, and the cycle continues...praying it doesn't happem
Has he ever performed life saving surgery or rescued people from a burning building or fought on the front lines?! Then what makes him a special, special human?!
I saw tigers first tee shot back after his dad died. It was winged foot US Open 2006. I’ll never forget it. I was 12, and I swear the crowd was 20 people deep from the tee box to the green. It was just amazing the amount of popularity he had at his peak. Easy to see why this fame took its toll.
I mean he did it to himself and even tiger has openly admitted that he was a scumbag and should be ashamed of it...BUT that being said, he is a totally changed I I believe that for sure. And I think everyone deserves a second chance
Been thinking about subscribing but they aren't offering a free trial anymore. I understand it's only $15.99 for a month but with so many other platforms delivering content, I wish I could sample it first and compare it to all the other HBOs (so many I'm starting to get confused). Until they offer a trial again, I'll probably just find other ways to watch the content unfortunately.

I’ll admit I’m a complete newbie to the sport but since taking the time to learn the finer details of the history of the sport I found it inevitable that Tigers name would appear in everything I read and watched . I’m now following his life and just finished watching this documentary and omfg I’m mesmerised by the guy . There’s something so special about him / there’s a presence he gives off when you watch him eye down his shot after hitting from the tee . He’s very very special not only as a golfer but as a character too . Flawed ?? yes but it’s hard not to admire his story so far from the rise to the fall to the comeback of the one they all said would never win a major again . I was disappointed his time at Augusta was cut short but I’m hoping that with this surgery he’ll get another run for a major and I can follow him upon his return . My love for golf has truly been intensified times 100 after educating myself on Tiger .
I can’t stop watching this It comes out on my birthday - What I most admire about Tiger Woods is his mental strength, one to a level never before seen. Tiger Woods is without question the absolute greatest, most astounding player to ever touch a golf club and there will never be anything or anyone close to touching the pinnacle of excellence that Tiger deemed his standard in this wonderful sport.
Don't take it was sad it's like I've been saying 4 over 30 years what you see on television with these athletes and celebrities is not real boyfriend girlfriend married I think about 75% of these celebrities cheat
I hope this gives enough focus on his career from 1997-2009. His comeback is definitely noteworthy, but to me that decade + of complete domination is much more impressive.
Only mistake tiger made was getting married and pretending he was the perfect family man. If he stayed single he could have hooked up with 1000 women and he would have been a legend on and off the course and nobody would have had a problem.
@@bethanyreynolds7270 That's why he said the only mistake Tiger made... the mistake was deciding to settle down. Now there are multiple arguments on both sides and there is nothing wrong with wanting a family and settling down. The "mistake" was that Tiger already had this taste for lust and he kept indulging after he was married. His father only fueled that as the poor example he was when Tiger was growing up. I'm not sure if Tiger's body would have been any different but without the scandal, he likely would have won a lot more from 10'-12'.
Not sure why tiger’s agent hates the documentary, but I think it was great. I was never a huge tiger fan before, never knew all the scandal details, and yes he hurt a lot of people and it shows that he himself went through great self inflicted suffering. but in the end it tells the story of a human being that has overcome remarkable obstacles, depression , and life pitfalls. People need to resize he’s not some demigod, but just another guy, capable of sin, but deserving of forgiveness like anyone else. If anything, I’m more of a fan now than I ever was. What a remarkable win in 2019 he had given everything he’s gone through. Best wishes to tiger going forward.
Something else that a lot of people don't seem to know is that Tiger Woods dealt with substance abuse as well, opiates and xanax etc... He was self medicating for pain after numerous back and knee surgeries.
I couldn’t agree more. Don’t under estimate Tiger Woods. People have been saying his career is over for years now. I think he’s just getting started on a new chapter in the book of his career. One that might be better than everything we saw before and maybe ever will see.
Golf is a very demanding sport. So many hours of practice for different aspects of the game to learn and perfect and then the mental side once you feel confident with your game.
Exactly what I was thinking. Now I don’t need to see the movie. The trailer shows all ready the beginning, the prime, the problems, the downfall, the rise, the comeback, and winning. Thanks HBO trailer.
the docu was "good" but we want and deserve more than just an hour of his ex's and girlfriends talking. This is the man that changed the sport and achieved more than anyone ever will in golf. we want a documentary like the Last Dance.
Through the ups and downs I have been a true fan since 1997. Thanks to him I fell in love with golf like many others. No one has done more for their sport with regards to popularity since Tiger
I loved the documentary, but I didn't agree with them including some of his mistresses in the documentary. It's about Tiger, not them. If Rachel Uchitel would have had a fling with a guy working at the mall we would not even know who she is. These women trying to hold in to their 15 minutes.
I really hope that they didn't make this too much about race. I understand there's a component of that in this story, which is definitely worth sharing, but I don't watch Tiger because he's a black biracial guy. I watch him because he's an incredible mf'ing athlete, whose competitive spirit is one of the most compelling things I've ever seen. Plus Tiger barely ever makes things about race, which I really really respect.
To be fair, I think in the sport of golf in particular it is hard to deny his impact when it comes to diversifying a predominantly white upper class game. There are tour professionals of colour these days who owe their interest to seeing Tiger, a man with their colour skin, succeeding in a sport they may never have had interest in... so although I also hope they don't make it all about race, in terms of the sport of golf it is definitely a major part of his legacy
Yes definitely. I would never deny that Tiger has changed the way we view golf and it's awesome how he's inspired people of all backgrounds with his play, including those with darker skin, like the Tony Finaus and Harold Varners of the world, etc. That's a great part of his legacy. I guess I was just saying that I hope they don't make this into a woke-ized version of reality, which is the tendency nowadays, where skin color means everything. This is my opinion because that sort of version would be totally incongruent with the way Tiger carries himself, as he is someone who lets his work do all the talking, and barely talks about skin color. And I think that style is what makes him a very unifying figure and why I really admire him.
The reason why the comment was made, is because golf is played globally, and it was also a “white people” sport.... tiger really did unify a huge group of people. That’s not an exaggeration.
An entire generation, the current generation of golfers from white kid from Kentucky, a Chinese-Japanese kid from SoCal, to a Samoan from Utah are only golfers in the first place because they liked Tiger Woods as kids. The comment is hyperbolic but not entirely untrue.
I think pressure and fame got a toll on tiger and decided to go and try navy seals just like what MJ did he went to go and try baseball. their mental resiliency is on a next level, their desire to overcome the struggles is impeccable. Im so excited to watch this documentary
@@anonymousposter6671 hahahahahaha! and i kind of want to see. regardless, tiger is a living treasure and nothing can change my mind about him at this point in life.
I do not feel sorry for him. I do not watch golf, BUT I DID HEAR ALL ABOUT IT WHEN HE CHEATED. A fact, I could of lived without. Its none of my business or anyone else's. I feel the same way about a comeback. As long as he stays out of my lane, I'm fine with it.
Why are all of these people who call themselves friends and loved ones talking about their personal relationship with the man. Some things should be private. Maybe thats why he dumped them. That and he has allegiance to no one but himself
Thanks for this trailer. Now I don’t need to watch the series. This trailer shows it all ready. The beginning. The prime. The problems. The rock bottom. The comeback. The rise. Winning. Thanks HBO.
Why does this seem like a hit piece on Tiger? bunch of ex girlfriend and wife interviews highlighting his lowest points. Why not the best, the greatest golfer who ever lived? Maybe it's just the trailer.
the doc is pretty much tellin the world that tiger is completely different from everybody else lol it does focus alot on the bad things in his life though.
Incredible documentary, aside from the Bryant Gumble contributions 🤮. Overlook him, and you’ll be in good shape. Watched on my overnight flight to Rio de Janeiro, and could not turn it off for a second. Incredible...
From me black ppl we love tiger and till dis day we do because his this golfer who not white is taking about this type of sports that mainly for white and became a mega star also we always was proud of him success really want him to succeed
Loved the Doc. Huge Tiger fan. I always thought it was crazy how through his scandal the Masters felt it was necessary to scold him publicly...if that was another golfer (white) they would have not done that smh
I watched part 1 yesterday and there is nothing new from all of the other Tiger doco's. Its footage we've already seen just told differently. I'm guessing Tiger didn't endorse this doco because there are no new interviews of him or Tiger himself telling the story.
