:-) Mine had nearly 8000 miles use, think it still had plenty of life in it, don't see the need to change them every 6000 miles

I dont know if mine has been replaced at all, doesnt look torn up or anything. 16k on the bike but the chain slaps about over rough stuff. I got a new chain coming this week (old one is pretty stretched) so hopefully that fixes the slapping.

What part of that chain rub strip normally wears out? I have 24K KMs on my Tiger and the rub strip looks pretty good to me. I bought the bike last year with 17K on the ODO, so if it was changed it must have been done right before the fellow sold it.

The bottom part at the front usually gets it worse. They’re supposed to be changed every 6k but if the chain tension is set right then they’re usually alright

+pa h not that I know of. If you keep the chain tensioned properly then you can usually get away with not changing them at 6k. It's when the chains too loose that it slaps around and wears it

@@MuddySump I think the bike I’ve got your shop has actually serviced it a couple of times. Its got your stamp in the book. I’ve watched your video on doing the valve clearances. Parts are not cheap for the xc I got but I love riding it. Perfect weight plenty of grunt in all gears. As for the chain and sprocket. It arrived this morning.
