All the old songs are still in the game and do still play, but if you’re in high tier they’re just much less frequent _- someone who hasn’t progressed past rank IV_
@@Baton666 That’s pretty sick man, I remember during the early beta of the game gaijin had a video briefly showing that off. You guys made a lot of really good tracks
@@Boomchacleno, it's because individual plates crack. For example, Panther could not penetrate Ferdinand 200mm casemate but could easily penetrate its 100+100mm front
So I assume this is more or less a "factory" jumbo and not one of the more ramshackle field conversions. If I remember correctly ones in the field just had spare armor plates from knocked out or otherwise disabled Shermans welded to themselves effectively doubling their armor at the cost of intense weight issues. One of these field conversions I can think of off the top of my head would be "Thunderbolt VII" the personal tank of Creighton Abrams. It was an M4A3 (76) with as much additional armor welded on as was feasible. Even got some additional pieces slapped on the turret.
@@standard-carrier-wo-chan I don't even want to imagine how often that thing had to be repaired because unironically doubling the armor of an M4 on the same engine/suspension is insanity. "Ah yes, let me get a Medium Tank with the equivalent armor of a Tiger 2. That should work out great." -Creighton Abrams, apparently. But well...I mean it worked out for him so I guess you can't judge it too harshly.
@@ThatGuyOrby on a personal level it makes sense, on a tactical and logistical level not so much. atleast it worked, unlike tankers who used concrete as armor.
there such a version in Call to arms gates of bell ostfront(a RTS game) it’s UfP could tank tiger ii shells and dish out hits. and if you overstocked it’s APCR you can easily take out tiger tanks and TIGER II’s
I'd say that was survivable, although the crew might be deaf for awhile, and Timmy took some minor spalling to the face, but nothing he won't be able to live with...chicks dig scars. if they had been angled ever so slightly, the 88 would barely scratch it. Jumbo Sherman truly was a beast, at the cost of mobility and suspension issues(which pretty much all tanks heavier than originally designed had, including German ones)
Makes me wonder if there was just a slight stand-off gap between the plates, maybe by just attaching the extra armor with heavy bolts using nuts as spacers (like Super Pershing) would the armor perform even better?
If you mean exactly light speed, then it basically will be antimatter explosion of entire universe, as any body with weight at light speed would have infinite energy. If we are about more doable things, 4.5mm BB at 1% SoL obliterates 3 meters of steel armor.
A projectile moving through the atmosphere with an initial velocity of even 90% of the speed of light would cause air molecules it slammed into to fuse with it and it would also cause air molecules to fuse with other air molecules. Very quickly, the projectile would erode but in its place would be a huge nuclear fireball similar to the blast of a hydrogen bomb.
Most encounters on these channels are around 500m default if not said otherwise I believe. Still wouldn't have gone through fully even at point blank I think. It would spall a lot but not a full penetration
Considering they didn't break the witness plate they're not intense enough to be lethal but superficial injuries would probably be likely (minor scrapes and cuts). Potential for spalling to reach the eyes of the Driver or Bow Gunner dependent on location of strike but if they're wearing their goggles they'd likely be fine. Worst case scenario may be temporary blindness.
@ztashed6366 Ever heard the phrase "Death before dismount"? Now, I don't know if that phrase was around during WW2, but think about it this way: Which would you rather face? A few little fragments weaker than airgun pellets, *or* an MG42.
Did you know that a tiger is able to penetrate 150mm thick armor, but only in this channel can you find a tiger that cannot burn cardboard, or it seems that the owner of the channel hates the tiger.
Likely not, they would probably have received some superficial injuries (assuming there was no equipment between them and the outer hull), but unless they were profoundly unlucky, they'd be rattled, but otherwise fine. Other videos have stated that for a bit of spall to penetrate the aluminum witness plate, it would need to be going at least as fast as a pellet gun's projectile (which usually wouldn't be lethal to a human) and have similar or greater mass. Since the plate didn't deform very much here, it means there probably wasn't enough damage to meaningfully threaten the crew.
@@resurgam_b7 Depending on the area that was hit specifically there is the small potential of spalling reaching the eyes of the Driver or Assistant Driver (Bow Gunner) if they weren't wearing their goggles though. I would say temporary blinding would be the worst case scenario but unlikely to be lethal.
