I feel like the Tiger will be absolute cancer in Tunisia, especially to new players. I agree with the sentiment that it's Tunisia, where the west first encountered the Tiger so it should have the Tiger but I feel the power level of Tunisia tanks started off too low for the Tiger to not be absolute BS for some poor sap trying out his new Daimler for the first time.
@@Elbowbanditest2003 i think Panther A was the only Panther except II that had useable reverse speed. The other G,F,D Panthers were reversing at a snail's pace.
@@humanhuman5024 heavy sloped armor or not it's still a crew hatch and in reality should be much more vulnerable to strong pressures specially from an 88mm flack gun.
Another tip for all Tiger players, angle your armor and no allied gun will be able to pen you frontally, if it works in War Thunder it works here as well
@@coltonbarnes7861 it's a different story if a tiger is entrenched because it would probably be inside a ditch so angling it would make perfect sense since it would be rendered immobile in that position. they would need all leverage to soak as much damage as it could. but when it is fielded to roam free in otto carius's words. they don't even bother angling they just spot and shoot and they never got penetrated after taking almost a hundred hits. they weren't even scared said one veteran tiger commander. they were talking about christmas celebrations while under fire. Allied tanks was never a big threat to a tiger it was the allied airforce whom they're legitimately are scared off.
@@hansloyalitat9774 it’s in beta so the shells are all apcr not APHE like most tanks should be the high explosive works with shrapnel not also the explosive so you get times where it deals no damage like showed in the video and the penetration of most tanks are very low and sometimes this makes it impossible to play some tanks for example the panzer 4 has very little penetration even when it should go through the t34-85 like nothing however because of how little the armor of the panzer 4 is the tank gets 1 shoted by everything I will say a more balanced match up would be the t34-57 and the panzer 4 because of the way to game is set up but it’s alright for now because they still have a lot in work in progress
I find with the H.E rounds its better to hit walls to get the good splash ground can be good but for some reason you need to hit a lot lower to get the kills.
This makes me want to get into the game again... but I'm just so bad that I can't really play more than 1-2 battles before eventually leaving the game for 3-4 weeks....
Even with a premium account, this game is hell to progress in. Been playing for weeks and I'm only on campaign level 14, but it's fun, love the MP40 and G43. Wish they'd ease up on the grind though
How are you level 14 only I have been playing for 1 week and went from level 2 to level 8 all you have to do is run in take out a few people and keep repeating the progress because it does not matter how much you die it only matters how many kills you get
Imagine a Tiger on Moscow poppin tanks like Champaign. The only time where that Bf V quote in campaign is true where they say the Tiger is so well protected that the crews would run out of ammo well before the integrity of the tank was ever threatened.
You could theoretically do this if you played custom games with the right settings, I've played joke matches with friends with Moscow Russians attaching the Italians on D-day
well it's good that finally a game really did some justice to the tiger tank's true reputation based on the allied soldiers testimonies who literally encountered one of this beasts.
I love this game, I have most of my available infantry squads in the Normandy campaign 30+ AND IM STILL SO FUCKING FAR AWAY FROM ANTI TANK GUYS. Being spawn trapped by a Sherman, as Germans, on DDay is ridiculous.
Your comments about the Tiger's side armor reminded me of a recurring thought I had. Honestly, I think explosive packs in this game are kind of OP in regards to tanks. Essentially, you are throwing a low velocity HE round at a tank. Hit a tank with a normal HE round and see what happens. Unless you have paper thin armor or land the shot where overpressure can do some work, you aren't going to do much to the tank. Maybe do damage to tracks or other exterior components, if that. Maybe do worse damage if you had an explosion right beneath the tank, but once again, without any component to direct the energy of the blast or armor piercing projectile to push into the armor, I don't think you are doing much. I know it might throw balance off a bit, but I wouldn't mind if they toned down explosive packs to where they only did serious damage to light vehicles or where you'd have to run up "affix" the pack in a certain spot on tanks to do any serious damage to a tank (like directly above an engine cover, and only then, it would knock out the engine and maybe start a fire). This could potentially make AT gunners more useful as of right now, any infantryman is about as useful as an AT gunner, provided he is carrying an explosive pack. I mean, think about it. If chucking a bundle of TNT sticks at a tank would take out tanks so easily, would tanks even be a thing? Tanks should be feared, but in Enlisted, unless they are parked in the gray zone, I see them as an opportunity for 3-5 easy kills, since nearly all my soldiers carry explosive packs. It shouldn't be that way. I wouldn't mind being forced to either get an AT squad, a tank, an engineer with an AT gun, or a bomber out when I see a tank. Right now, nearly everything is a counter to them...which is one of the reasons why tanks camp in the gray zone, when you think about it.
I agree. I remember seeing an enemy yeet an explosion pack across a rather wide street and blow up a Panther, I think that sort of stuff is so dumb. It's dumb that if you want to destroy a tank you do not want to be even close to touching it because you will throw the explosion pack too far. I feel explosion packs should have to be placed.
Buffing tanks in this game by nerfing E-pack would be dumb since tanks are extremely good if you know where to be and what to do. Also the E-pack is not only explosive it has a HEAT blast, its a cumulative charge that pens the armor of the tank you can see it in the hit camera.
@@lk_ludikruc8358 Fine, we'll keep them. And limit them to engineers and AT gunners. Sorry, but what is stupid is the idea that any random infantryman can take out a tank. Also stupid is the fact that squads designed to take out tanks - such as the AT gunner - are woefully underused because a full squad of riflemen armed with explosive packs will likely have better luck taking out a tank just swarming it. And engineers AT guns are more often used as an anti-infantry weapon than an AT weapon, because they are underpowered against tanks and, perhaps more importantly, everyone who has explosive packs equipped can take out a tank. This game needs to utilize all its squad types, and right now, the meta is just to run assaulters, riflemen, and - if German with the FG42 (which is ridiculous on so many levels) - engineers. One way to do that is to make assaulters and riflemen NEED those other squads to exist. Plus, the e-pack wasn't used in WW2. like it is in Enlisted There were anti-tank grenades used in WW2, and they rarely did what you see explosive packs do. If a charge isn't shaped and affixed firmy to an object, it is just going to blow up with a heat and pressure effect. Me, I would prefer this game to become more realistic. While I understand that concessions have to be made for gameplay, having everyone being able to blow up a tank is not a necessary or even good concession. Just contributes to squad power imbalance and players doing unrealistic crap. If I wanted bunny-hopping explosive pack chucking super-soldiers, I'd be playing a different game. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-tank_grenade "Shortly after the German invasion of Russia in 1941, the Germans introduced the Panzerwurfmine(L), an extremely lethal close-quarter HEAT anti-tank grenade that could destroy the heaviest armored tanks in the war. The grenade was tossed overhand to land atop the tank. After release by the thrower, three spring-out canvas fins stabilized it during its short flight. The Panzerwurfmine(L) was lethal, and inexpensive to manufacture, but required considerable skill to throw accurately and was issued only to specially trained infantry tank-killer teams.[14]" NOTHING like what Enlisted does. Basically, chuck any old pack of TNT near a tank, and it's game over. It's stupid and OP.
From what I've heard the tiger is the most feared tank but it has a weakness and that's the back because it doesn't have to much armor And to be honest this actually feels like a real tiger nice video mate
Is there any tank in history that doesn’t have less armor in back. If you as commander allow anything to get behind you you should find another job As for enlisted don’t stray far from infantry cover or else you’ll have doemor cycle exp packs and see the icons bouncing around everywhere as they’re throwin em like 1s in strip club goingfrom guy to guy (Honestly who equips large made bags to anyone but bomber. But I swear anytime I’m in a tank that causes other tanks to run away from me next thing I know someone will spawn in one of these squads til I’m buried in non cooked explosive packs and just have to sit bsck in chair and sigh
The 88mm really should have a decent HE shell. You would think it would out perform any 75mm HE shell except for, MAYBE, a short barreled howitzer. Also, to get the most out of the Tiger's armor it really needs to always be angled. The armor was very flat which is why the sides have such thick armor. The idea was the tank itself would always be angled instead of the armor being angled(which creates a volumetric problem). The Panther was designed to be a hull down tank, keeping the thick sloped frontal armor facing towards the threat.
"I feel so invincible" Pretty much every tank commander feels like during WW2 when they fought a cavalry of T-34/76 tanks, till they met the 85 varients, SU-85 and IS-2 heavy tanks that can counter the Tiger.
First time I've blown it with my Sherman was today on a Zeelow heights. Such a tough panzer. Also it seems having too much post-pen damage as well as panther
Post pen on the Tiger is as it should be, a penetration in real life almost always destroyed the targate. 88mm and 75mm both have explosive fillin in the shell. Sherman 75mm is lacking its APCBC with great explosive filler too... its using old AP shot which was fased out and not used in Normandy.
@@lk_ludikruc8358 nah, explosives didn't work as they work ingame. Largest postpen was caused by soviet shells usually filled with great amount of explosives with enhancer, while western APHE usualy killed from 1 to 3 crewmembers per shot. Actually weak explosion power was one of rare points when soviets criticized american m4a2 with long 76mm gun. It sometimes required 5 or 7(!!) shots for Stug40 to be sure that SPG is destroyed
Problem is that a lot of people who have played War Thunder have a bad impression of the Tiger from how poorly a lot of War Thunder players play the tank. No angling, exposed front plate, game over.
The Tiger in WT also goes against vehicles that are similar in strength, while historically this was not the case (at least early in the war). When the Tiger first arrived in North Africa and was used against the Allies they had basically nothing to fight it with and had to rush over the new 17 pounder AT guns from Britain
Not engine but transmission problems, specifically the final drive would break if not taken care off or stressful driving. And even that was fixed with the late Panther G and F models. Amd it would not burst into flames for such problems even if the engine was a problem this happened rarely in the war.
@@hansloyalitat9774 they already sort of do ( atleast for most of the Moscow tanks) You only have 3 crew men, and the commander can’t look through the non-magnified port, so you have to rely on the gunner to see where your going .
That first clip of the tiger with one crew member killing 2 russian tanks reminds me of fury. It's a good movie of an American tank crew in 1945. Thar clip is like the last part of the movie.
Gotta love the Tiger. Too bad I have like 20 levels of European servers Russian craze and German bot squads to go through. Also, any advice on the second best golden order weapon I can get besiders G43 kurz? Thinking about the Suomi as far as gameplay impact goes.
You say the gunner Perk is night and day I have it and loader perk on every tank on every campaign and obviously it is good I just don’t know specifically what it does I rarely see yellow marked pen status so is it just easier for gunner to find green or what!
The improved targeting allows your gunner to simultaneously adjust horizontal and vertical aiming. If you take an unimproved gunner you'll notice that your gunner always adjusts horizontal first, then vertical, and if you adjust horizontally even by one degree he stops vertical adjustments to finish horizontal ones.
Just unlocked the tiger on Normandy today, first time driving it I came across a calliope, launched all his rockets at me until his ammo was exhausted to his disappointment it did nothing to me exept break a track and I one shot him in a comedic fashion, I can imagine he was pretty angry that his pay to win vehicle is virtually useless against tigers
2nd game i unlocked Tiger i destryed 2 Calliopes in single hit and one of them was hunting me with planes (Hvar and their bombs are extremely op) for the rest of the match, he forget that he should focus on objective not on being butthurt and lost the game that was pretty hilarious.
I know there is a chance that you don’t know much about tanks but the tiger is one of the most powerful vehicle during its time there are counters but still a vehicle to fear
The king tiger if they add it to the game that would be so scary. Also a pain in the ass to take out. This is the reason why everyone in all my squads have a mine or at least an explosive pack to take tanks out.
for some reason german HE on the campaigns including the soviets is mostly duds. on normandy i use the panthers HE to blast the americans off the beaches, in Moscow and Berlin my HEs maybe hit one guy, if i hit him directly. I wonder why....
Much armor? Let me explain... It didn't have as much on the back but it was still a lot, 60mm was at that time more then most tanks of other nations had. The side are 80mm thick armor which is why the tiger is so good against E-packs which have aroun 50ish mm of pen in Enlisted which mean if you don't trow the E-pack on roof you will most likely do nothing to the Tiger.
@@jPlanerv2 i saw a documentation from a museum in deuchland, they had a surviving tiger that was abandoned beacuse a shell lodged itself between the turret and the chassis and jammed the turning capacity. The fury movie had a lot of things it got wrong, tankers for the US would never use the STG44 since it's ammo was irregular even for german weapons. it used a short 8mm patron.
@Quadro i know this video is a little old but what are your thoughts on this tank in the current BR system?. I just unlocked the Panther A today and i had the Tiger E gold order tank in my inventory and i was just wondering which tanks i would have to worry about being put up against? Wondering as the Tiger can one shot most american tanks from the front almost regardless of angle, sometimes it will ignore sloped armor but its more of a 50/50 if it will bounce. Going to use this until i unlock the tiger 2 and then the Tiger 2 (H) after that.
idk if you've faced this, but how do you fix the axis berlin tanker bug where you get out of a damaged tank and can't repair even if all your crewmembers have tools?
Getting kinda sick of seeing Tigers every other round. I just got the T-34-85 the other day and I’ve been facing tigers since I was on campaign level 3. Majority of the maps are awful on Berlin for attacking tanks anyway so I just don’t use them. Could we get a T-34 Guide some time? Trying to use my warthunder knowledge doesn’t seem to be working here.
I don't like the fact that Gaijin just put to much crap on the maps. There's always something you stick in with the tank. I hope they will reduce this a bit in the futur.
So how much would it cost to just buy all the way to the tiger I main tanks in Normandy and I want the tiger but I honestly don’t have the time to do a whole other campaign so how much would that cost
