If your bathroom faucet looks like this one and the turn on/off lever is coming loose, then this just might help. I believe this is a Moen Brantford as visualized at www.moen.com/s....
I was totally stumped until watching this video. The Moen system is very different than others I had used in the past. Thank you for making me a brain surgeon!
A plumber was called out twice to fix the screw coming loose I wasn’t there. So this video saved another call. I did fine that the plastic part was worn allowing the handle to move sideways, so I put tape on it to shim it that work.
I was about to try to chisel off that stupid cap. Thanks for the video. I’ve never commented on a You Tube video before but this was a huge help. Thanks!
I suspect that the 9 dislikes are the contractors who will lose hundreds, perhaps thousands over the years for no longer being able to perform this house call issue again. 😂🤣😂🤣. Love the video and I was literally on the phone with a contractor who wanted to charge me for just coming out two days before thanksgiving... I am truly grateful to you for this video. I did have trouble unscrewing the stem but that was before I found an old rubber wrist band to grip with and it came right off.
Thank you so much for posting this. I was just a second away from ruining the handle by attempting to remove the "fake" screw button cap with a knife! Even Moen's website isn't clear on how the handle is attached - the exploded diagram doesn't even show a screw in there! Good thing I thought to look it up on RU-vid before potentially destroying something. Thanks again!
Thank you so much! This was the exact model we have and I was at a loss for how to take it apart since there are no visible screws or caps. Got ours all tightened back up thanks to your helpful video 😊
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!! I was going to call a plumber for my loose handle, but because of your video, I fixed it in 3 minutes!! I looked at so many videos just to find out how to fix my loose handle, couldn't find one & so glad I found yours!
Thank You!!! I have the same Faucet and Im like WTF! But now Im smarter than a 5th Grader...Like I slept in A Holiday Inn smarter!!! Thanks to u sir👍🏼!!!
OMG, I've had this problem for a DECADE & have asked pros, plummers, big box salesmen, & friends, to no avail! Thanks so much for the solution!! Bravo! TIP: my bases were too tight & couldn't be loosened from below, so I slipped a piece of rubber bicycle innertube over the base & safely applied a wrench.
(3/20/22) This did it! My hot water faucet was leaking (left one), and I was looking for ways to take it apart when I ran across this site - was able to turn loose as described, disassemble, and fix the leak (had to play with the stopper and some 'banging'). Thanks much!
Thank you also... very helpful instruction indeed. I did however have to apply done WD40 to the seem of the turning mechanism of the faucet, which removed the stiffness and the movement returned to normal. This video however provided the knowledge on his to remove and replace the faucet easily... thx again!
I had 2 loose handles. One was very easy. One was stuck wouldn’t budge! I wrapped duct tape around it a few times, then was able to get channel lock pliers to grip it and turn it without scratching it up.
Thank you, this video was a lifesaver! Read instruction manual inside and out several times and it does not show how to take the loose handle off for tightening. Felt for a set screw, tried gently pulling off, and finally went to internet! Jumped up and tried your fix while you were still talking and it worked. Now I am including these instructions in my manual for hopefully no future use. Your right, simple fix, but I still would not attempt brain surgery!
Man, thanks a lot... as many others, I have spent some time (weeks) thinking how to fix it... then, RU-vid came to my mind and I found you... the fixing was done in 2 minutes... thanks a lot.. I will look for you anytime I need to find easy solutions at home... All the best..!!
Awesome video. I'm sure it was a few plumbers who gave you the thumbs down. This video saved a lot of people from running their sink and needing to have it professionally replaced. Thank you for the post!
You're da boss man! Thanks so much. I thought it would be a simple pry the top and tighten and before I gouged the top or my hand etc, I decided to do a little search and behold, the enlightened answer :-)
Thank you! Fixed my kitchen faucet tonight and your video was suggested below. Never even thought about how easy to fix my bathroom faucet could be too!
I really appreciate the time and effort you put into making and posting this video. I was going crazy late last night trying to figure out how to fix this issue. After watching your video, it was a snap! Thank so very much!
Really appreciate you posting this video - just what I needed to figure out how to tighten the handle on our bathroom faucet - so easy once you know how!
You are a life saver...Think how much $$ to call a plumber to fix this loose handle...I thought for sure what you had initially thought. Thanks for showing me the "easy peasy" way.
