[warning: loooong description] This is definitely the biggest project I've worked on for the RU-vid Channel (apart from my solo albums). I've wanted to do this ever since I first saw this video years ago. I started working on it sometime during covid. I've been slowly chipping away at it since then, while working on some other videos for RU-vid and also a new album which is not far from being finished, more info to come soon(ish).
A few awesome people like David Dockery and Yogev Gabay beat me to the punch on the beatbox solo and their videos are what inspired me to have a go of the whole piece. As they had already done such a good job on the beatbox parts I decided to take the drum solo from a different live gig than the Berklee. I took it from a gig in Moscow as there is some really cool groovy moments in the solo, and I love the way he changed the feel compared to the Berklee one.
I'm going to be releasing some transcription videos soon of the drum solo and of the piano/guitar solo. And I will make the charts available somewhere so you guys can get them. I need to work on the scores first though and edit the video so they won't be ready straight away.
I hope you guys enjoy it, and please share it with your friends and spread the word. I'll be shooting off lots of messages and emails today to try and get it seen by Tigran. Feel free to check out my 2 solo albums on all major streaming platforms. Just search for Alastair Taylor. Or find them on my YT channel.
