Andrew, your not quite right, Tik Tok does have other countries to target, but your are limited based on the region you log in and the country your account was created. You need to have a VPN and multiple accounts in other regions to promote to other regions. As an example we can ‘t target USA from Australia.
The limit means you don't have it as part of the service. So its a drawback of the service, no matter the vpns. Also various accounts has other drawbacks
That is a valid point. Either way though, no matter what country you're from you get some type of limitation on which countries you can advertise to. The average artist / marketer isn't going to make multiple accounts and use a VPN service to run multiple $20/day campaigns to different batches of countries. I have to imagine TikTok is currently working on expanding country access. My guess is it must be some type of legal limitation where they have to get permission per country.
That's not an offical way. Your exploiting the systems which is fine if you can be bothered to create multiple accounts. But he wasn't wrong in his statement.
Hey Andrew! Love and appreciate your content! Do you think it's best for an artist to run ads on their personal account (creator account) or on a separate business account to generate traffic for their music?
Meta ads are by far the most effective. These ads run on Instagram but you don't run them through Instagram, you set them up through Facebook ads manager.
Is it still the case with TikTok ads and connecting your account to the ad platform that you have to have a business account and not a creator one? Because that always meant (means) that you wont have access to all the sounds and such. And that is a HUGE trade off, for me not worth it honestly. Hope TT figures this out, at least for bands and make something like a "musicians account" or whatever for running ads.
Ok not really related to the video but figured U guys could help.Just released a song with my band and suddenly within 3 days our monthly listeners has 4x to near 1k monthly, I have no idea why this is and how do I keep this going etc, also we’re not on any Spotify official playlists etc . Thx
good stuff.. one question though where is the follow up video for your video titled..Getting Your Music Videos on Vevo, Apple Music and More (DistroVid)..did it merge the channel? also i see mainstream artist got lyric videos with Vevo water mark and even audio releases have vevo water mark. care to explain? thx..for example beyonce has lyric vides visualizers and audio with Vevo watermark
Hi andrew, you mention making sure you have ? Si deep link @6:49 can you elaborate on this? I've actually been getting some help running ads from tiktok. But I seem to not get any traffic through to my spotify page? /:
Hey Andrew, what was the result for clicks to Spotify using this campaign? Did all the clicks actually equate to streams? And from your experience, what can I estimate for results per spending $100?
Yeah it translated to Spotify. Hard to tell if ALL the clicks translated though because I promoted it on my Spotify artist profile which has other promotion and followers and stuff. What I would like to do is run a test with a song getting zero streams on a burner Spotify profile, basically make a fake artist with a fake song. That way it can be measured 100%, i've done this with FB ads before. So while I didn't do that detailed of a test, I did see a bump in streams, listeners and saves that lined up with the duration of the TikTok ads test. There was also no other way to explain that bump outside of organic means.
Hey Andrew, did you notice how toneden seems to be going down ? Like most of their tutorial pages are down, it's impossible to add a Facebook ad account to start a new campaign etc ?
They were acquired by Eventbrite a couple years ago, guessing the tutorial stuff is getting migrated over to something else? I haven't heard anyone else have issues with linking to Facebook. I don't get any insider secrets from them unfortunately, and even if I did i'd probably not be allowed to share them haha. But I haven't heard anything about them going down.
I just set my first one up. I got my first conversion for 23 cents on 2 clicks (and am now at 1 conversion on 77 cents on 5 clicks). I setup Spotify and Apple Music as my 2 possibilities on the multi option instant page. Did you use a bunch of different links or just those 2? Can you track which conversion is coming through? I can't tell if they clicked on button 1 (Spotify) or button 2 (Apple Music).
How much would you charge me to run a campaign for me on fb ads? I did it myself and ended up with like 18dlls a click. I truly appreciate you and your info🙏🏻
The problem is they don't have a way to optimize for 'button clicks' on the instant pages. However i've been toying with some ways to make it work, just need to run some tests.
I kinda agree but also tbh the fan base is better on tiktok, people are literally primed to find new artists and also are generally more accepting to musicians running their ads
So I have a business account. I also have my music distributed through distrokid, onto tiktok. But tiktok won't let me use my own commercial sound. If i switch to a personal account I won't have access to my link on my homepage. What do you reccomend?
Hey Andrew, apologies if you've answered this question already, but do you know if paying for Tik Tok ads will kill your organic reach? I've been posting for awhile on my account and would love to try ads, but I'm scared that if I do I'll need to keep paying for them in order to see growth
I know I’m not Andrew, but thought I’d help anyways 😝 Accounts where myself or buddies have ran ads- we did NOT experience a drop in organic reach, but actually saw a boost, if anything. Because you can’t do smaller, daily budgets like you can on Facebook, it seems like they’re more forgiving on their organic reach. Just my experience, but hope it helps!
hey Andrew, wanted to ask you 1 little thing. do you prefer doing a "Run ad group within a date range" or Continuosly ad? like, if i choose Continuosly ad, even if the budget is 50$ will it still charge me after the campgain ends?
Hey, not Andrew but in my experience - running anything continuously with a budget of $50 is going to stop for the day once the budget is hit. So, if you run from 12:00 PM - 12:00 PM (24 hours), it will do its best to use your full $50 and then stop until the next 24 hour cycle begins.
I'm trying to set up a campaign, but if I pick a video - tiktok doesn't let me pick an Instant page (if I skip the video upload - it does, but then I can't select a creative) - it's very confusing what I'm doing wrong...
I’m having some problems and wanted to know how can I get on a call with you to explain even if I have to pay you $50 bucks consulting fee just for 15 20mins just to explain my problems. Then I’ll pay you to help me fix and get up and running?
Ok yo I see your consultant fee. I have no problem with paying the $197 for the hour as long as I can get up and running. I’m tired of paying ppl and they leave you hanging when you come to a bump in the road setting up there course.
Definitely Facebook / IG ads. FB/IG ads are on the same platform, and which performs better between the two placements is generally determined by the demographics of the artist.
Thanks for the info Andrew! Honestly, i'm still on the fence with the tok lol Especially considering the conversion cost vs audience quality... I just don't know if Tiktok is worth it outside it's current organic reach means (or for super specific niches that'd only be found on the platform.)
Good going. But u eat alot of your sentence ending. Where it gets hard to understand what you said. Find myself having to go back to try understand what was said.
