@@offthachains2008 The elected people should know the politics, and if they have to interview someone from a specific field with specific terms and knowledge that isn't common like online services like this then yes there should be a panel that can "translate" the questions and dissusions.
What I’m seeing here that people seem to not notice is that yes, the questions sound dumb. But in reality they are strong arming Tiktok to have its data be accessed by the American government. They keep talking about the Chinese having it but in reality it is they who want it which is why they have successfully forced Tiktok to move their data to America. Looks dumb but actually quite cunning 🤔
They did achieve though in having Tiktok data moved to the US hence they now have access to Tiktok data which they have been accusing of China of having.
Funny thing, Congress had a department for understanding Technology: Office of Technology Assessment. Because of the politics, mainly the Republicans, it died in 1995 (Started 1974).
This guy gives the impression that he has integrity. The woman just gives me the impression that she hasn't done research and doesn't really know what she is talking about. Win for TikTok.
@@azaharsafahan1607One thing for sure is, that they achieved in getting access to Tiktok data by having the data stored in America. They may sound uneducated but it seems as though what they’re accusing China of is what they themselves actually want to do and have achieved in doing so.
"I find that preposterous" is like when someone is losing an argument and says "you're being really offensive". I doubt she even knows how a firewall works.
Because the sprit of common law is banking on the view from common people, which means you don’t need knowledge and use common sense to make a judgement 😂
Can't disagree. They need to replace all these dinosaurs. It had been passed their prime time. The government really need to set an age limit to run for our government. No older than 45 would be an ideal.
Rep Anna Eshoo made a claim that has no evidence to support it. The CEO should have demanded evidence. That woman is straight up liar, accusing the CEO of lying. It's utterly shameful. When she said the CEO's response was preposterous, she should look in a mirror.
If you going to ban Tik-Tok you might as well ban Facebook RU-vid Twitter Instagram the same thing that you are accusing this company for what they are doing is the same thing that the other companies are also doing too ban all of them
Exactly. When the U.S. does it, no problem. When China is even suspected of doing the same thing, it's completely unacceptable. And let's remember: they aren't even making accusations of anything specific, just storing Tik Tok user's data in the apps country of origin. This is beyond an overreaction; the United States is actively trying to play up China as an imminent threat to justify the next war.
She makes statements with no evidence and says it's preposterous the Chinese government don't have access... she's already made up her mind before asking the question and regardless of the facts.
Embarrassing that these people run our country. I hope people are opening their eyes to what these politicians actually do, which is not much. It's time we elect people who do their jobs.
As external person (not American), I can see that main problem is that majority of politicians are old. And based on what I know (correct me, if I am wrong somewhere), it is mandatory to be old before you can move further. So on the moment you have presidents or parliament, those guys are already grandparents and unless they want to be in line with time, are outdated before they even started to work.
Look she is American represent the admin. That’s how we talk. Nice going here goes Chinese investments in the next 100 yrs as it grows into japan… our next target will be weaker, made in Thailand😊 when it grows into a mini China we will shut it down… that is if we still have the power in 20 yrs
@@rose_blue1Yes, that's why it should be banned too because the data could be used by the American government as they are afraid of what the Chinese government will do
you know what is preposterous, not tech savvy congressman asking technical question without even understanding complexity of an issue/technology and subtleties . he is responding technically and she is still not convinced )). CEO should respond in lawyer way so she stops asking bull feces questions
Man Tiktok's CEO is running laps around these congress people. American government doesn't stand a chance they can't even beat one random ceo in an argument.
I remember during my parents' days when they needed to use a second language to gossip in the office. The advantage these days is that we can just double talk in Queen's English in front of our CEO during board meetings, and he couldn't even understand a single word of what we were saying! 🤭
It's really a problem if you look like Chinese even though you are a Singaporean though it's Asian but not part of China because Singapore is a different country in the south east Asia. But still tagged as Chinese and being accused for being linked to China, what a shame 😑😑😑
They're all like that. So obvious their minds made up, don't even hv the brains to be subtle. Doubt this crazy lady was even listening, she was just eager to cut him off so she can show off how savvy & ballsy she is.
We are trying to collect Chinese data but we couldn’t come out any apps popular enough to be used there or banned! When we are not able to do it, therefore, you should be banned.
America has all the internet hosting control, but they cannot and do not know anyone has accessed their system or database? Common American Senators & Lawmakers, go get your brains upgraded about technology, IT, Computers and cybersecurity.
Everytime I hear this CEO speaking I can understand why Tik TOK has success. He is brilliant, clever and smart. Congress people look just all ignorant...
I dont know whether the congress really hate tiktok or they just act like they work hard to protect US citizen. But both dont turn out working or believable. I just hate how the try to pressure the CEO with stupid accusation
I have more problem with my data being captured, stored, scrutinized and monetized by Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile. But let’s not forget the big dog of data collecting, the NSA.
This guy is so cool, calm, and collected. He has been briefed for any and all these questions. He was born and bred to be in front of congress. He can be a politician if he wanted to, but then he'd have to be dumb and an embarrassment for his country.
