Casey’s amazing! Like Delta said, he’s an amazing singer too. He does a lot with Postmodern Jukebox and I think everyone should go look at them more, but especially if you’re a fan of Casey’s bass skills.
As a double bass player, we are generally made fun of being “useless” because of how simple our lines are and how a bass guitar can replace us easily. This genuinely made me feel much better.
A bass guitar can do some crazy stuff too, but swapping one for the other is never gonna sound good, because they're different. Having strings and being low doesn't make them the same. This is as a bass guitar player
Firstly, the bassist is absolute fire. Secondly, everywhere I see the last guy gets so much hate, as if he is the guy who organized the whole video and saved the last minute just for himself. Every one of these artists probably uploaded several minutes of jamming to this song, but the person who put the video together felt (and I agree) that his really ties the whole video off nicely. All the other duet chain videos like this don't ever have a good ending. It builds up nicely but never has a good end. His contribution, although longer than others, ties the chain together with a nice bow at the end. It also helps that his clearly has the best production quality both visually and musically. Give the guy some credit.
in my opinion, its just the fact that he pulls himself to priority, compared to the multiple clips being on view. the source material (the dryer) is hardly audible. (criticizing individual clip, not specifically as the function in this video as a whole)
@@jeffreytenthije another annoying bit about the last clip is how unoriginal and uninspired the lyrics are. the delivery and the rhythm, cadence, the whole thing is executed really well, but the actual words are just shoehorning in these ideas of "hey look at me i'm so cool and everyone loves me look at me" which feels so forced. when held up against the lyrics of all the other creators mentioned, which tie back into the central theme of the dryer, and the lack of creativity and effort put into the lyrics stands out even more compared to the rest.
@@vespirited I mean, what's wrong with feeling a little confident? As long as it doesn't get in over his head or whatever, he doesn't strike me as the narcissistic type and looks more like he's having a lazy day and is having a bit of fun
So for the people wondering: the bassist is named Casey Abrams and he was actually on American Idol back in the day. He finished 6th but was a fan favorite.
I remember that season! One of his last appearances, he got to stay over some girl named Pia and got so overwhelmed and emotional he puked a little. His performance had been his worst from nerves and a poor song choice so he expected to go home. Then he KILLED it the next week. That was the season Scotty McCreary won. Literally the only season I ever watched all the way through. No clue why I remember it all 🤣🤣🤣
First girl (McKenzie?) has a really specific talent that often goes underappreciated. She wrote an INCREDIBLE hook. It's one thing to write a good melody, another to write really good lyrics, but the hook was just inspired. It's not complex or complicated, but the reasons it works so well are really involved and very cool
Now the first bit sounds great on its own. But that last guys sounded like a completely different song, that I would listen do for five days straight, add to my playlists, then remove it later, then rediscover it and enjoy it still

I believe the "interlude" bit actually goes [Interlude] Aww fuck No! I shit my pants I don't know what's the right decision Is to sit or stand Think I'll give it a shot Here we go, right now Ohh, Im gonna lay back down
I’m about 99% certain that’s Casey Abrams playing the bass. He was on American Idol years ago. Great jazz voice and played the bass on stage a few times. Sadly, he and my favorite contestant both lost to that pair of country kids that did the same exact boring country music every week. I’m not still mad about it…not at all…
@@wordzmyth Yeah. His felt kind of overbearing and like he was feeding his ego a lil bit. Idk I feel like I'm being extra, but I can't come up with any other reasons why I'm not as big of a fan of the last dude than I feel I logically should be
Frederic Chopin (he's one of the most famous pianist/composers of the 1800's) said this about simplicity: "Simplicity is the final achievement. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art."
I'm actually proud that everyone stepped up only when it was their turn and wasn't trying to take away from anyone. That's seriously awesome yall!! Loved it!!
@@sKadazhniefbut each seperate clip didnt have anyone trying to steal the show on their own in that one clip Tbf, only one i kinda felt it with was with the last fragment
@@jeffreytenthije yea... because the editor specifically chose the ones that dont, and then it lead up to the final clip where the last guy was just going for it...
They all so talented. Like the girl has such a cool and relaxing voice, the rapping dude is proper killing it, and the third guy has a nostalgic sound to his voice. And the last guy proper killed it with the effort
I would like it to be mentioned that not only is this technically not copyrighted but that this song slaps so hard that you could probably make a show or something with its premise
Let's not forget that the reason this masterpiece was created was because someone in the early 20th century was tired of hanging their clothes and invented the dryer
@@Greatduck777 hey i didn't ask you that nor did i say the topic at hand was about the bass; i was simply stating a fact and if you don't like it then shove one 😎
The fact a Washing Machine malfunctioning can make a song so diverse in themes yet work perfectly to feel like a professionally made song blows me away.
You know Billie Eilish? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I-zeJRjP6xA.html they used Crossover Sound from Australia , around 4 minute Mark
This might be my favourite out of all of them. It doesn't sound chaotic like how others just add random instruments to it with no regard of how it fits. This actually sounds like a real song.
You're amazing for being able to mix together songs like this from all the duets people made to go with it. I do not have the musical mind to fit things in a way that works like this hah
This is one of the rare collabs where there's an appropriate amount of instruments and it's not just as many people trying to show off their talents and basically yelling over each other with their instruments, making it sound cluttered and overwhelming.
@@notpresobama1553 sure, songs about breaking out of dema and nico catching up sure sounds like shit in pants to me. P.s, it's top or twenty one pilots, not 21 pilots
finally a vocalist that does this and actually manages to fit with the previous instrument instead of turning everything into acoustic guitars and vocal runs
I loved their vibe, man. Did not sound like overwhelming effects at all. Not to mention the best part is they probably didn’t even use any auto tune or tone fix thingy (which Ik is needed sometimes but) raw skill 💪
Things slap now? Last I heard it was "slays my existence," or just "slays" for short. I'm too old to keep up with this shit. I'm 28... 30 is going to hit me so hard 😂
Thank you for keeping it at just a few instruments and letting musicians largely take turns. I watched a duet chain about the num num cat and it came off like a trainwreck of oneupsmanship.
I love them all so much! The singers have such nice flows and cool voices that fit together so well! I like the lil' change of beat near the end the grove really went *boom!* It's all a bop ^^
I shit on Tik Tok a lot, but this is genuinely one of my favorite kinds of trends where an entire community of creative people put in a little something to make this incredible work of art.
Eu também odeio tik tok, mas isso é um dos motivos que faz eu gostar por uma colaboração em equipe por causa de uma simples máquina de lavar, virou uma música.
@@ayonixanimations honestly even copying the format here works perfectly since the basis of it is so unique in nature (IE random semi-musical clip gets extrapolated into a song)
@@_Telefoam_ they have no idea how the app actually works. they just heard some youtuber they look up to say "tiktok cringe" and internalized that into a personality trait lol
I feel like the singers aren't getting nearly enough recognition for not only writing a song about something so random but sounding so good! Also major cred to the who made this compilation xo
I personally not a huge fan of tiktok, but if one of the function is to bring amazing talented artist like these to make a great masterpiece is one thing that I love the most.
This is the type of music that would play right before the credits start rolling and continue a bit into the credits before replaced by some ost from the movie.
The fourth guy saying "ohhh ima lay back down" transitioning into the last guy starting with him just getting out bed I think deserves more credit than it's getting. That's just me tho
I'd call it more of a loud minority. Very, very loud minority. Theres so many amazing content creators on there. They just get drowned out by the scum.
I don't use tiktok and pretty much most of what I do is pretty garbage but the musical side of it seems to have a lot of talent and integrity. As a musician myself its great to see people getting the recognition they deserve and sharing their talents.

@@samenger1508 Do you mean the "The Internet Band" version. If so then their editing was okay, some edits killed the flow to me. Plus I feel the inclusion of the solo at the end was a great cap.
@@TheOriginalJDubbed I mean this one is kind of a mess, especially the part at 1:25 Plus the fact that this one lasts for only 1min 30 because the last part isn't something edited
@@samenger1508 lol, it's always gonna be a mess. The Internet Band version has intervals that just sounded wrong as well. However, I will agree to disagree. Music is subjective, so our taste are just different. One thing we can both agree on is that this Dryer should definitely have it's spot on the Top 100 Hits. 😂
As my music teacher has said basses are the ground celo's are the floor, violas and second violin are the chair and first violin is the pillow. Most of the time us bassists just sit there with the most boring and fun parts at times. And I'm not even going to talk about shifting.
Amazing how everyone contributes in a meaningful way. **Even more amazing** is how the editor was able to put all the clips together in a way that mirrored the grove, pacing, and structure of a real song. The editor is the real MVP here.
Even more so if you have audio engineering knowledge. When you realize this song had to have been mixed and mastered (most likely by a professional) then you realize everything really rode on whoever the audio tech was.
I can't believe we've reached a point that we're so bored, we're vibing and making music to a malfunctioning washing machine. I'm not complaining, this sounds great, I just can't believe it.
This full song is its own “slice of life” story with a bunch of different characters 00:10 the broke person with a laundry machine they can’t afford to fix 00:30 the narcissist guy with bad eyesight who thinks he’s always right, but is also a hard worker 00:50 the “dude” guy 1:19 the guy who always gets drunk 1:31 the main character
Okay now imagine: they all (including the ones who added all the great instrumentals) live in an apartment complex and the famous dryer that started this all is in their laundry room. Or if you want to make things extra: they’re all roommates.
And sadly still get 1/10 of the recognition. There are geniuses out there, and they don't care about Idol/xfactor/got talen etc. Makes them hard to find, unfortunately :/ @@witchykittyy
@@thanossnap4170 See, but that’s the beauty of art! Even if only a FEW souls ever stop and appreciate it, to a true artist, expressing oneself is the only goal. And those hungry for that art will always find it. Being appreciated by people that are like-minded instead of the blind noisy masses is _worth more_ than money.
So glad you added the "shit my pants" part This is awesome bc it mixes a lot of the talents of the compilations but makes it edited better to really show off how good it is. All those singers were amazing and I am surprised they all fit so well. Not to mention the consistent drums and bass that really added to it.
75% of what goes into making a good song happens in the studio. Producers really help bring together the vision that would otherwise get buried. MiMo is super talented.
