Thank you SO MUCH! This explains why my tiktok is doing awful at the moment. My main issue is that I find the talking content is sooo mcuh more time consuming. Having to make sure I look nice, write a script and then editing the videos takes so much longer than what I traditionally would post on tiktok. But hey ho, back to the drawing board. I'm 100 away from 30k and my past videos used to average 20k+. The last 6 videos I've posted have gotten auto flagged. The issue I'm having is all of my videos are getting instantly flagged the second it gets uploaded but it's all 100% my own filmed and edited content that isn't a repost. Every video I appeal gets auto declined for "breaking the community guidelines". It's all gaming clips that I've been posting for years and no matter how many support tickets I submit, it's always an automated response. It's really frustrating because similar creators in my niche don't have this issue at all, they've never heard of it in fact, yet ever video I post is flagged now? I'm so lost and demotivated. I've tried everything and asked everyone and nothing I do has worked.

Hey man, I'm an Artist (with an artist account) and around 2k followers. I've been making a sort of format of tiktok that is slideshows of interesting inspiration of mine from musicians I love, and doing sort of text-essays over it, and eventually bringing in my song. I really enjoyed making this content and found an awesome audience, going from like 200 view jail to anywhere from 2k - 40k views on all my posts for the last two weeks. Out of nowhere, the SAME (exact format) suddenly got relegated, and my last 4 posts have been in sub 50-100 view jail, seemingly not getting pushed to anyone, with no flag. It's super disheartening since I put a ton of wrk into my content, obviously.. and your video really hit home. Do you have any suggestions? I loved using this format since it was doable for me, original, and got to my audience, but am worried my account got guideline-stricken or something...

I get a lot of flagged video for unauthentic content for videos I produce myself from scratch in Final Cut. What I’ve noticed is that the same video will pass if I off load some of the editing thru the TikTok tools. My guess is that that’s the only way they can accurately assess that it’s original.

Could be. There been a glitch where they are mistakenly flagging content as unoriginal lately but they fix it on appeal. I think doing some of the editing in app would help though. I personally edit the video and then do text and captions in app.

Thanks for the video! I'm facing another problem that I don't understand how to solve. I create original content (idea, shooting, editing) on sports and sports-entertainment topics. BUT, I create videos in English and TikTok shows them locally (not in an English speaking country) and people just switch as soon as they realize the video is in English. Seems it's just time to give up with this platform

Hey man! I'm not mike, but i was having this problem but the opposite - I'm in the US and all my stuff kept getting the first 200 viewers in russia and ukraine for some reason, getting my content stuck in its tracks. What worked for me was creating text content (or adding captions IN APP), along with descriptions, that were clearly english language. Overdoing this told the algo that my audience needed to be english speaking, and it got me back on track.

Now what I’m interested is: let’s say I’m in a not English speaking country and I’d like to reach English speaking countries with booktok. Based on analytics, the views are from my country and that’s why they scroll out in 3-5 sec. (Except abt 4-6%) That’s a bad thing. How to train fast the algorithm?

Hi! I recently created a gaming channel on TikTok and made 10k+ followers in 5 days. I now want to move more to 1+ min videos and try to take inspiration from others and invest a lot of time into editing. While I still gain decent views (5k-50k) and my content is saveable, the average view duration is rather low with 20s and 10% full watched. Do you think it is an editing mistake and I have to improve my videos with more zooms and cuts, do my videos not reach the right audience or is it just because my account is really new? I‘d appreciate an answer! Post edit: Do you also know what the average rpm is for gaming and if I should apply now for creator program or after gaining more average views?

I don’t know the RPM for gaming. As far as the rest goes, it’s just improving your content. If you’re being consistent it will be shown to the right people, but longer content is harder to get high retention on. It’s just a skill to work on.

Yea I get it but I placed original videos up and it got 210 views and nothing more and it’s over 1 minute. You guys are guessing seemingly like everyone else. This app is exhausting as hell. So discouraged. Thanks for the info.

We aren’t guessing. TikTok provides plenty of material explaining how things work, and then we are able to verify it across all the clients we work with. Getting stuck at 200 views is a normal thing that is part of how the system works. That will always happen no matter how long your video is until you improve your content and more people watch it to completion.

I recommend following other creators in your niche and curating your FYP to show niche content. This makes a great research tool. Once your established and categorized it really doesn’t matter at all, it I generally keep a separate account from my main one for general scrolling and entertainment to keep the one I post on for content research

I did all of this. I was at 29k and stayed stuck there for 6 months until i finally gave up. I made original and hikarious content for the lgbtqai+ community that was funny, educational and charismatic. Authenticity was my niche. ...never made it passed 29k after the algorithim change in 2022.

I don’t think they matter much. Although I think they are helpful early on when the algorithm is trying to categorize your content and figure out what you’re about.

Your niche is just your topic + your unique personality and perspective, not some super small subtopic. Take my account as an example though, it’s TikTok, not social media. And you can see that because if I talk about another platform my views will be much lower.

My editor would tell you otherwise. He has a faceless channel showing off his edits that constantly goes viral. If the views aren’t there it just means other people in your niche are making better videos and you need to improve yours to get your share of the views. Don’t blame the algorithm. Views are a black and white metric to show whether our videos are good or not. They might be quality videos but if the views aren’t there it means people aren’t watching.

You violated one of the policies. That’s why you see the views die like that. I original content isn’t the only one that you could have violated, so I would review them and make sure you don’t do it again.

Potentially but it’s not guaranteed. Videos are judged independently based on performance to the sample audience. So if you gain new loyal followers who watch everything you post it helps, but you won’t see an immediate bump usually.

RU-vid shorts is way better then tiktok I posted the same amount on videos on both platforms an gotover 1.8mio views on yt shorts(in 1 week) and only 800k views on TikTok (in 2 weeks)

It’s not better, just different. For example, you might get more views with Shorts but it’s so much easier to get sales from TikTok.

Same as any plateau - better ideas and content research, stop the scroll, improve average view duration, improve finish rate.

Post less frequently and improve the quality. TikTok recommends posting no more than 1-4 times per day. Anything more than that they view as spam and it doesn’t perform well.

Viral videos are the outlier, they don’t mean you will always have massive views. All that shows is that you had some great videos and a bad one. It’s perfectly normal.
