As always you really squeezed the shit out of every tile while keeping ability to tile and scale. I'm so satisfied watching your videos of compact and neat designs with very decent productivity and accurate math. Keep up good work.
I love these designs. I made my own blue circuit design that has 8 beacons per assembler, and stacks vertically 6 times in a city block. Each blue circuit column consumes 36 green circuits/sec and each row consumes 11 red circuits/second, but it's not nearly as space efficient as your design. It does however neatly provide 1 full blue belt of blue circuits.
The only thing I would change is to have 2 splitters with outside output priority to add the green circuits into the line instead of the wrap around. Other than that, fantastic job as usual
8:43 don't beacons require purple science for the research? I still think the mk1 modules are a good idea though, even after purple science (because mk3 module require quite a lot of blue circuits) but yellow assemblers would be good. I think this was just an oversight though. love the videos though, keep it up!
yes they do. When you get Production Science it is easy to add a couple of beacons, but if you do the full upgrade then you also need to produce and transport 180 Green Circuits / second, which is a completely different scale. The middle tier is a good stepping stone before you have a fully blue belted base
I recently designed my own blue circuit production and checked this vid out for reference. I actually got a better ratio, my design takes 181 green circuits/s instead of 182 :)
13/s blue circuits output needs 720/s copper ore input ...means i need about 1000 copper miners dedicated to 13 blue per second and what about the rest of base? completely lost motivation...
@@jackreacher6240 he uses max rate calculator at a few times in the video. It's a staple mod of his actually, I've seen it used throughout the masterclass series. Got me using it too
Holy hell! That is just a thing of beauty! I usually don't like to copy other designs, but I honestly don't know how to make blue circuits any better than that. So next time I'm building blue circuits I'm probably going to end up building it more or less like that.
The amount of videos I watch of yours is ridiculous considering I’ve never had a mega base. I guess I just prefer watching yours than trying to make mine.
Just a quick question on the final design, the middle blue circuits have 2 inputs for green circuits while every other one only has 1 input, is this intentional or more just an aesthetic choice?
The green circuits are coming from 2 directions at the very end. The full lane of greens can support 5.5 assemblers so the one in the "middle" from our POV is actually the one at the "end" of both green lanes so it needs 2 inputs from each lane since the lane only has enough circuits for half. I suspect that it's set up that way from the beginning to make upgrading to the late game blueprint easier since you can just plop it down
what am i missing? i get half the production rate when i plug this in to factorio calculator: kirkmcdonald.github.io/calc.html#data=1-1-19&rate=s&min=3&belt=express-transport-belt&items=processing-unit:r:2541/400&modules=processing-unit:p3:p3:p3:p3;s3:5

@@Nilaus Now i see the problem, the web site pastebin is not reachable in my country ( Turkey), it has been banned. I had to use vpn to get the blueprints :(
I thought my processing unit(blue circuit) design was great at late game producing 10/s and using just a bit more space. I will be using a variant of this one from now on, tyvm!
I love all of your videos and have started watching them while i work. You really helped me with understanding trains and most things with factorio tbh
The blue chips could be done in a assembler 3 setup in mind since speed modules only requires red chips and green chips since making blue chips with red belts is just waste of materials for the ammount that is produced.
But Nilaus explained that he prefers to get yellow science before purple, so level 3 assemblers aren't available the first time he needs processing units (blue circuits).
