Till There Was You sung here by Rebecca Luker as Marian Paroo in the 2000 Revival of the Music Man. This was Craig Bierko's final performance as Harold Hill in May 2001.
It blows my mind that producers didn't even want to see Luker audition for the role of Marian. She had to ask her agent more than once to convince them just to see her. So baffling to me!!! I can't fathom who else they could have cast who would have played & sung the role as well as she did. Also her and Bierko's chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥!!
I knew Rebecca from college. She was wonderful in Camelot as Guinevere. I was a page and chorus member. I saw Rebecca in concert and talked with her, in Garner, NC. The concert must have been about a year before she got the diagnosis.
I saw this show and had the pleasure of getting Rebecca to sign my programme. But an even bigger pleasure was to hand her a note of appreciation for her talent and career, written from the heart. Her voice and radiance touched me deeply.
Why did it take me hearing about this spectacular woman’s death to actually listen to her? She was incredible! My heart goes out to her family and loved ones! God bless.
I'm playing Marian in my theatres show....I LOVE REBECCA LUKER!!!! It's such an honor to be able to sing this song in the show!!! Love these two....their chemistry is amazing!
this brings back so many memories of being 5 yrs old.... when i saw the music man i was totally blown away with Rebecca Lucker after the show we waited for Ms. Lucker to come out and my brother went up and asked her if i could hug her and she did to this day i still have the dress :) i missed her in mary poppins by 2 months i was so upset
These ARE such GREAT tunes... ONE of the GREATEST musicals of all time... and in a comedy!!! HELLO... so many of the NEW musicals have such crappy tunes.... These two are WONDERFUL!!!

Excellent show, I saw Craig in this show on broadway back in 2000. I have to say, he was as good if not better than Robert Preston. Sounding almost identical to his singing, voice and style.Any more musical numbers?
I saw it then and there too and his charisma reached up all way to the back and top of the theater. This revival is the one I know and remember. And of course Rebecca Luker was glorious in this role.

I love Rebecca Luker the best Marian after Barbara Cook the first. She was better than Shirley Jones who was very good in the film and of course much better than Kristyn Chenowed. Marveleus.
Well... I agree on Ms. Cook but I'd say I prefer Shirley Jones over Chenowith. I'm a Chenowith fan but not of her in "The Music Man" BTW: I saw Bierko and Luker in the summer of 2000. I thought Bierko was smashing Luker seemed a lil bored like she was phoning it in. Maybe an odd performance that day?
