Milk I would love to see both of you at the show, but I don't get around well and I just can't do it. I'm totally nuts about Melissa and you're a real good good guy too. You two have done a great job raising your family and deserve all you have achieved. Hats off to you and all the best. Tom(Stud) Studley
I wish I could go to the Paul Bunyan show - a little too far and expensive from San Diego !! Hey Mike and Melissa, say " Hi" to Hunter for me, please !!
The view of work from inside the cab was the best. Dang, you really are good w that machine. You spoke of the multifunctional movement required to move the machine in the way it had to be moved to create the right slope correctly. Over the years, I've witnessed people who just could not get the feel of the machine. Wout that 'feel', one can't do what you were doing. It was so aggrating trying to train these people. I came to the conclusion that they wanted that job because the wanted to sit all day. They couldn't care less about becoming skillful. It is a joy to watch you, though. You've definitely mastered the feel of your machines. Crazy when you're making loud noises, the deer walk close to you unafraid, but when you move quietly, they avoid you at all cost! Very nice video today, thanks, Mike.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
The two camera views clearing the ditch are good, but at 15:22 (when you are recording from the operator view) reveals the end result. Looks great Mike! You are having fun working and I’m just enjoying watching work.😉
What a thrill meeting you in person yesterday at Paul Bunyan!!! Super-duper extra points meeting daughter Eva!! Hope you have a great time the rest of the weekend, and safe travels home.
Excellent skills with that new bucket Mike!! That will open many more opportunities for you I bet!! Wish I could meet you guys today but will not be able to. Have a wonderful weekend!! God Bless All!!😊
I don't know if anyone else feels this way but I appreciate the camera angle where you can see the bucket working from Mike's view. You start to feel like you could be doing the work!
Mike, I think the reason you like using the new bucket so much is because you see such a difference from the start to the finish. It is a marketable difference. Nice Job!!
I got to meet “Half Day” the plumber at the Paul Bunyan show! He came walking up when my son Todd and I were chatting with Mike & Melissa. Talk about a thrill! Guess it doesn’t get any better than that. Oh yea, it was nice seeing the Morgan’s also.
Mike, your operating skills are steadily improving!! I've been watching you for a while now and you seem completely comfortable when running your excavator. Thoroughly enjoy watching your projects!!
Enjoyed the video, and i have to say, that tilt bucket is a game changer, faster and way more efficient. Makes the ditch more functional and nicer looking. :) Land plan a little more stone - set for the winter.
Talk about the seasons changing and liking it so much, my wife and I took a 12 day trip from north Idaho down to Temecula CA to visit my sister & brother-in-law. We drove through Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, California and Montana. After we got back I mentioned to my wife about how much I like the 4 seasons of north Idaho. I was thinking about the Temecula area and it stays basically the same year round, seems a little boring to me. After we got back at the end of September it was time to put the summer stuff away and prepare for winter. We went from hot all summer and very little rain to fall within about 3 days, much cooler daytime & overnight temps and leaves changing color rapidly. I'm sure by the end of winter I'll be whining about having to clean more snow, but that's just part of the seasonal change. Love the tilt bucket and your excellent skills!!
Your reason for fun using the new bucket is joy, just like a kid with a new toy. Have fun while it lasts! As your become proficient in the use the joy will turn to satisfaction.
That's one way to rake the leaves 😅. Just like a kid with a new toy 😊. You might have to eventually use the skiddy to haul the spoils to where they can be dumped down the hill but for now it sure cleaned up nicely and widened the driveway without giving the motorist concern over sliding into a deep ditch and getting stuck
Just wanted to say how much we enjoy your videos! One thing we appreciate is that we can watch this in front of our grandsons and can be confident that your content is always family appropriate! We appreciate that for sure! Tell Hunter hello from the Harp family in Texas and y’all have a day! ❤️
Nice work, love your channel. Now you need a trailer hitch so you can use your dumptrailer to collect the gravel and dirt. Best Regards Lars Roar Hagen from Norway 👍😎
It would be nice to move that dirt somewhere other than the hillside above where you’re working. Rain will bring it back down to the ditch. Ongoing maintenance I guess.
Hello! 😊 Mike could weld a trailer ball to the top of the backfill blade, off to one side. Then he could trail the dump trailer along and put the spoil in there as he goes along.
Totally agree with you on the government shutting down. In fact, Americans need to put forth a Motion to Vacate all members of Congress instead of just the Speaker.. Nothing the government does is efficient. But to your video, that grading bucket is nice and will make your job easier in the future in maintaining the roads you have.
Good morning Morgan's from the Gulf Coast. Great work with the bucket ! We are under a fire alert down here ,low humidity and wind plus even though we got some rain the other day ,we are still very dry !
I've worked in home construction for over 30 years and I've always wondered why operators don't use buckets like yours more often. It seems to me that they could do so much more with thier gear .
Every bucket has its strengths but tilt buckets have a lot of weaknesses when it comes to breaking points. They are great in light duty applications but it’s pretty tough to replace a talented operator that knows how to position the machine correctly with a regular digging bucket
@@randywilson6869add up all The implement costs and you get there quickly…grapple, thumb, buckets multiple, rake etc…not hard to get there anyway….it just comes more slowly
@@slutnik2439: If you are just moving big volumes of dirt or have to dig some really hard stuff, then you can unhook a tiltrotator. But when it comes to something like Mike is doing now or some precision work, that tiltrotator will shine! And a good operator on top of that will only create magic. 👍
@@johnnyhomegrownholmgren9999 I agree with you to an extent. If you don’t have proper technique with the simple setup then you won’t ever gain that good technique with the more advanced setups like tilt rotators. They are a fantastic tool but in my eyes a skilled operator can make magic with the most simple machines.
Nice job Mike. You got it. That bucket is the most valuable tool in the box, for storm water management. When you look at the finished product, It's gratifying, isn't it? You can seed it, sod it, Gravel it, or lay some trap rock in the trouble spots...or just leave it. Nice work
I've noticed that went I start learning to operate something new I improve during that day, but something clicks the next day and it just seems to go so much better. Enjoy your weekend...
Now that you have the tilt bucket for the excavator, you definitely need a Harley rake for your skid steer. They can shape and crown a driveway or road so well, they are a perfect companion to the tilt bucket. The Harley rakes make the York rake obsolete.
The AI as you said is what cause the writers and actors strike. Along with money. Like the tilt bucket. Hope to have 1 soon. Should get dump trailer or dump truck and dump the dirt in it as you clean out the ditch. Most likely when it rains the dirt may wash back in to the ditch. Have a great day be safe.
Don't know why you would put the overburden back up over the high side... first rain it's washing back down... while it would be an extra move, it should be dumped at at low point.. but it will give you more opportunity to use the tilt bucket for sure...😁
I'm going to miss Bunyon this year, had an auto accident 8/16, spinal chord injury, learning to walk again. Making good progress, prayers welcome! I will miss seeing you all.....
Mornin Morgans from Texas. We’re a little early on our season change here. 72 inside my house and we haven’t seen that in many moons. Four seasons here: November, December, January and Summer. 😅
That bucket system looks like working a puzzle 😊 just keep trying deferent ways and things then all of a sudden it fits 😇👍 I have only used very small ones but they are relaxing when you don’t have a deadline 🥳
The first time I used a backhoe it took sometime to dig a hole where I wanted it. Definitely by the time you've used it for 20 to 30 hours it all runs on automatic and you don't even think about it. I became an expert at walking it out of the mud on the buckets too. Is it dry enough to go where I wanted. Nope Best toy I've ever owned.
Keeping the water off the road is important, when you live where the water can freeze for months on end- getting the water away from the road as quickly as possible is just as important. it can just freeze in the ditch around a stick and start ice damming again, you know. I was curious, is there any way you can make a ditch above the driveway, on the uphill side, about 50 feet or so up in the woods? It might keep the water from coming all the way down there to begin with. Maybe cut it up across the hill at a good, but not super steep angle. speed = erosion. Just a thought. thanks for the videos, Mike and family.
The tilt bucket makes the excavator like a brand new machine. Kabota should think about having that as a standard feature on that machine really is a pleasure to see what you can do with it Mike you look like a kid with a brand new toy when you’re using that wish I could be there at the Paul Bunyan show but you’re a couple thousand miles away. Best of luck to you and, the wife.
I was scheduled to go to Anniston, Alabama for FEMA Mass Casualty Incident Command training last week but do to the annual political posturing surrounding a govt shutdown it was cancelled along with two more weeks. Enough is Enough … thank you for your comments and content … love the channel 😎
I am no expert but from what you said is not the dirt on the high side going to wash down back into the ditch? You maybe should have used the dump trailer or Old Blue and dumped the dirt over the edge at your wood yard.
Mike have you ever thought about using Millings ground up black top Road ground off it has tar and Gravel mixed together... put a 2 inch layer down then Roll it with a Compactor smooth roller makes it just like pavement...
I used to sell TORO machines. Zero turns are zero turns. Some do a better cut than others but when you come down to it, any of them are just high priced "mowers". Most zero turns are limited on what else they can do. Sure, most bac pull a garden trailer and that is is. Some you can put a dozer plow on and push a little snow but good luck with that. Having said that, the Stihl you are using is a nice unit and cuts nice, how it the stripping ability on that unit???
I'm working on several projects at my Little building and if you don't mind, load up the excavator and head southwest to I-20. When you get to the Longview Texas exit head north to downtown. Plan on a month or so. Can't pay you but think of the experience you'll get. Seriously nice machine and you're getting to be a great operator!
GM Mike - Can't wait to see what you may be bringing home from the Bunyan show...I'm sure 1/2 the fun is finding something that you didn't know you need until you become aware of it. LOL. Enjoy!
you can tell you are concentrating on what you are doing .Doing three things at once will do that ,and talking us through it.Much better view of what you are doing from inside the cab.
Hey Mike ur proud of that drainage ditch on sisters driveway. It will make a big difference. Y’all have a good time at Paul Bunyan party. Man a big rain and that water will run fast away now. Really looks nice.
We will not be able to make to the Paul Bunyan Show this year due to previous engagements. Enjoy the weekend at the show! Do you still use the land bridge that you built last year with the culvert in it? I believe that's the land bridge going to Levy's property.
Hay Mike-do the Kubotas have a 'stock' extra hydro line to run this type of attachment or do you have to switch over thumb? Also-a control inside if not the thumb rocker? You’re definitely having too much fun…thanks❗️🍀
Your doing a Great Job Mike on the Ditch. When you first started, You made me laugh with Your excitement . I understand. I was at an Auction one time and a man was looking at a Cat excavator and wanted to buy it, but could not operate it. He asked ifnI could and I could. So I jumped up and away I went.. Extending the boom, curling the bucket, tracking back and forth. Back then about 35 yrs ago. The Cats Had Sticks and Pedals..😂 Adrenaline was running high. Great Video as Usual..Your Doing a Fine Job as always..Hi To Morgan Family.. Wish We were in Ohio this weekend. Maybe Next Year..🙂 Safe Travels for You and Melissa..
Mike I agree with you, we need to downsize the government. I have thought for many years that a solution to our failed government is term limits. We moved here from Southern Illinois not realizing that Pennsylvania has the same issues. I enjoy your videos and only wish that your life style was the norm for society. Keep up the good content, I look forward to you every video.
You may not be concerned about a government shutdown but most of the population is concerned. However, congress still gets paid during a shutdown. The law need to be changed to stop their pay on October 1st if they don't have a budget passed. There would be no more threats of shutting down the government.
GOOOOOOD SATURDAY MORNING EVERYONE!!!!!….Another nice video/job Mike. Gotta a ?… what will prevent all that dirt you moved to the high side from being washed back down onto the driveway? Regardless, it’s better than it was. Sadly, the Paul Bunyan show is to far to drive from Virginia Beach…😁😁😁 One day (GOD willing) we shall meet. Catch yinz on the next one Have a day HELLOOOO Hunter 😊
If you had the rotating one, you would need new headlights soon because you would be spending your nights in the excavator having fun all night long !! LOL 🤣
