Hey! So it came and guess what?! The USB port on the motor was messed up. Anytime I’d plug a usb cable in it, it won’t power up unless I forcefully jam it in and hold it. I’m sending it back and Amazon is replacing it.

The plate they provided for the hand controller is for arri rosette mount.

Hello! thanks for al the usefull information! do you know If I can power the motor directly with my GH5 with a micro usb to the micro usb port of my gh5?

Hi there! thanks for the support. As for ur question, it will not be able to power the motor unless your GH5's usb has a power output. Meaning it can give away power to a usb device. Most cameras do not have this function, their usb ports are mainly for charging and taking in power. Hope this helps :)

Nice review. Thanks you for this. Do you know where to download the Nucleus-N firmware? I just found a firmware for the Nucleus-M? And is it normal that every time you power the Nucleus motor on you have to calibrate again or should it save the last calibration? Thanks!

Hey! Thanks for the comments! I’m not sure where to download the latest firmware, I myself have not update it too hahah... as for the calibration, yes, it is necessary to do so as the motor does not know which lens is on the camera, hence the calibration to ensure the correct focus ring diameter :)

Hey there, there are too many unknown factors in your setup that I cannot foresee, your best bet is to rig up and improvise your setup as you go. :)

Hello, how did you power up the motor? I tried using the USB on my laptop and then an external battery pack and it would not turn on. I contacted customer service and they said these devices might not be giving the motor the 5V it needs to power up. I was wondering if you had any ideas?

That’s pretty strange, usually USB powered devices are pretty easy to power. Try a different cable, cables are also rated for different power transfers. Your best bet is still to ask the brand itself :) tilta

Is there a way to reduce the travel distance so you're not using the full rotation to get from end to end?

Yes, you can manually set the start and end points of the focus travel distance. Some lenses have an infinity ring so they have to set the minimum and max focus distances that way.

Yeah I know i can set the min and max on the lens but I want to reduce the travel I need to move the wheel by about half

Sorry but your lens just have a motor inside!!!! Why Tilta dont build a handle controc that can control iris and focus lenses vial lanc or usb cable or wireless (BM) and motor for manual lenses? Crazy!!!!

To be honest you went too fast through the calibrating part. You didnt show how to get both pieces on to the same channel. It felt like you rushed through it.

Same as all the other videos no actual showing of proper wiring up. Plus no of them will tell you that that tilta cage is hard to get things to fit propley. Plus It's a kind of con as it's all designed to make your life as hard as possible if you want to use the cage with a tripod. With the standard focus handle you can't use a tripod and the handle. You need a handle that fits with a rosette. For the money tilta is charging a expect a cage that is easy to work with this is not.
