Joshua Han On that list, I would change the three-point shot to George Gervin's finger roll. That shot gave the Iceman 4 scoring titles, the most for a guard before Jordan's era.
idk about that! finger rolls are done near the basket if you deny someone a path to the basket he can't finger roll it but if you're a shooter you can always shoot it regardless of defender all up on you or not!
Coz a lot of big men practice more DUNKS for showboating, but not Duncan. Example: DeAndre, Howard, Griffin, Cousins and a lot more. Timmy is all for fundamental basketball that's why he has 5 rings.
Yaseen Makaveli 1 problem for d cousins is his behavior, and his play always wants to be him to be the go to guys, while tim always knows how to deliver a good amount of plays and passing and defense, that is why cousins never in my top ten big men only duncan, shaq, olajuwon, kareem, wilt, malone, dennis, ben wallace and many more
I love Tim Duncan so much...1) He plays the game the right way. No need to be flashy with all this stupid shit, just get the points and move on. 2) His professionalism/demeanor. I don't ever remember him trash talking someone, or crying for a foul, etc..and he's always composed. 1st ballot Hall of Famer..no question.
He and Bill Russell are the ultimate team players they both didn't care about the type of numbers they put up as long as they get the most out of their teammates and win.
What's even better is that it's true he didn't talk shit, but if someone talked shit he'd do it back in the best way possible, look up kevin garnett's story on timmy.
No he couldnt, duncan was best at slow pace and doing his thing, if he speeds uo and tries it will break his rythm, you just have to watch duncan be duncan.
@@mephestopolis1951 trust me my guy, if duncan really wanted to go off he could. its just that the spurs are more about twam basketball while other organizations are about hero ball
Also his unselfishness allowed others to shine (Parker, Manu) and made them more dangerous as a team thanks to that… A true legend and the one reason San Antonio won 5
Agree he can do it. But because of his unselfishness play and coach pop passing system, he sticks with it. But if he is stat padding that could be possible. He's the greatest PF of all time.
You gotta respect Tim Duncan for just sharpening his fundamental basketball skills. No flashy dunks. Not all up in the media glitz. Just a real classy and respectable type of guy. Thats whats missing in the NBA these days.
@Not so Wealthy Gamer Not really, MJ's fade was pretty different from Wilt's especially in the situations he used it in. If you want to compare someone to Wilts fadeaway it would easily be durant, you could put them side by side like Kobe and Mj and it would look the same, especially over the right shoulder falling towards the dotted line, thats the real comparison
My shot is literally based off of Tim Duncan, I’ve never been really good at swishing or clean shots or 3s but the bank is always something I love looking for
When Tim Duncan retires, I'm going to be a sad puppy. There's no one in the league right now who can shoot like that. I hope Aldridge can pick up a few pointer or two from Timmy to make shots like those.
Tim Duncan's game is a mix of power and finesse. He has the post moves of Kevin McHale and Hakeem Olajuwon and the power of Moses Malone. His bank shot is virtually unstoppable.
@mraxeattack I had been watching 'Red on Roundball' lately (the origin of Red Auerbach's instructional segments). I can't believe someone freshened it up for the younger generations. Nicely done!
José 'Puculín' Ortiz was also one of the best using the bank shot. Watching him I learned and mastered the backboard/glass bank shot. Oh, and I always use #21 on my jerseys like Tim Duncan
Two year anniversary of Timmy joining the HOF! Ive had the pleasure of seeing him a few times playing against my Lakers! Only in hindsight do I appreciate his game. I just hated losing to him!!!
I'm not a Spurs fan, but Tim is one of the best PF of all time!! Future Hall of Famer, for sure! :D David Robinson said about Duncan that he never played with better PF in all his life! :D It doesn't matter which fan are anyone, the Greatest deserve credit!! Greatings from Serbia, for all NBA fans! :D
@4barrm Yeah...One thing about Tim Doucan's game, it makes you respect the fundamentals and things like that. He makes you take things like preparation more seriously.
100% agreed. I'm not a fan of the whole underrated/overrated thing but Tim Duncan is extremely underrated. 4 Time champion(maybe even a 5 time champion), 2 MVPS, 3 Finals MVPS, 9 All NBA first teams. And hes stil chuggin along. Hes amazing, do you realize that his best teammates were: A 35-year old David Robinson, Manu Gibobili, and Tony Parker? I'd like to see LeBron or Kobe dominate and win at that level.
Marsellus Wallace Yep he seriously is. He’s my favourite player as well as the greatest power forward. The Spurs Big Three were seriously awesome and all three of them are under appreciated.
I kind of miss the league back in the day when many players got signature moves: Hakeem's dream shake, Dirk's one leg fade way, Kidd's kiss before shooting free throw, Mutumbo's finger shaking after blocks and of course, Timmy's unstoppable bank shot, isn't it a thing of beauty?
wholly agree. he takes whatever the defense gives him, and he punishes them with such an efficient force. there is no stopping tim duncan. you just have to hope his teammates have an off night.
i still use the glass/board as a weapon whether as a hook shot, a lay up or just a normal shot. i've been using it since i learned how to play game so basically it's part of my offensive arsenal. it's just sad that kids nowadays think it's "boring" shot or an "old school" thing that should not be used now in today's game.
