They’re not household names but they’re also not g league players. The lakers have household names and that’s not shaping up very well. People wanna forget Aaron Gordon was the last piece that made Denver a true contending roster. Jeff Green was the second best player on his team during the Brooklyn/Milwaukee series last year. Campazzo, clearly a high IQ player who holds his own every night. Currently loving Will Barton on my fantasy team so you couldn’t fool me there either. They also got a modern NBA enforcer/energy player in JaMychal… all players who are contributing on the defensive end as well that’s why Jokic defensive rating is so high now cause it depends on who on the court with you. Murray and MPJ aren’t lock up defenders so when they’re inserted back into the starting line up expect his defensive rating to drop. Point is.. Denvers front office is probably the best in the league at sniffing out talent and roster construction. Stop shitting on these players just to boost Jokic

He is the reigning mvp so they value him. Think about it. Curry was a runner up mvp and is the most popular nba star, more popular than lebron but nba still gave the award to Jokic. Think of the history of the nba. Nowtizki a German won mvp. Nash the Canadian won mvp twice. Jokics only problem is he is in a small market. The way American media works is where the media lives. Majority of them are in New York and Los Angeles and to some degree San Francisco. These are big markets. And media serve big markets because they get more eyeballs there. America is a huge country and there’s only 24 hours a day to cover all basketball teams playing everyday.

Couldn't disagree more. If anything he's over hyped. And that's just where the league is right now. Do you ever hear about his defense? He's a one-sided player, pure offense. Embid dominates both sides of the ball.

Well this is the way its played in Europe. No iso, my turn,its team basketball... You learn from young age that ball is faster than a player, and when you move it, it creats more space and ways to attack. Nemanja Bjelica who is now in GSW and played as PF hase the passing and dribling ability of a guard... Milos Teodosic is one of the Best passers to ever play in Euroleague, so there is a lot to do with the way you got teached at the start. 🇷🇸

Completely agree it’s way more likely Embiid has a bad game than Jokic, Jokic rarely ever has rough shooting nights and when he does he’s still controlling the game and eating up the glass and dishing out dimes

My reason would be the lack of depth Jokic has had/playing at the same level as Embiid or better yet under tougher circumstances: an NBA team has 9 players in their standard rotation, at minimum 8. Among the top8 in Denver's rotation you'll find a severely undersized guard (Campazzo), a big net negative (Rivers) and a rookie (Hyland), meaning on an average night ALL 3 of those guys are seeing significant minutes. The injuries not only cost them quality with the starters, they also cost them depth and that right there is exactly why Jokic has been as good as can be yet their record ain't top4 in the NBA. Embiid hasn't had one liability among the top9 rotation guys and in addition to that has another max player in the starting lineup. While his supporting cast ain't awesome, it's gold compared to what Jokic has been dragging all season long. Under those circumstances, Jokic is doing this: Topping Embiid in rebounding (20% better per 100 possessions), assists (75% better), steals (25%), offensive rating, win shares, offensive BPM, defensive BPM, total BPM, VORP, true shooting percentage. Embiid is 15% better in scoring but that edge is relativized by taking 12% more shots so the gap is rather small. Embiid dominates in blocks (100% better), has an edge in turnovers (20% fewer) but that edge is relativized as well because Jokic passes so much and generates so many assists. The only massive and impactful edge Embiid has is blocks, then - to a smaller degree - his scoring volume. Jokic got the massive edge in assists, another important one in rebounding, yet another one in true shooting and none of his edges need any kind of perspective, they are 100% real advantages. And that right there explains to me why Jokic is completely unrivaled in advanced stats this season. Dude was already a terrific rebounder and has increased his rebounding percentage by an incredible 25%. Assist percentage was elite - even higher this year. Defense is getting better and better. Has further increased his 3 point volume. Has maintained if not improved his shooting efficiency regardless of defensive attention, load to carry or whatever team he has to drag. Embiid is fantastic to watch but if Jokic keeps this up and Denver is close in winning record, he definitely has my vote.

Aron Gordon and Joker started to be great duo. Gordon learned to use benefits of playing alongside Joker. He just need to be consistent with 3p shooting and he could be all star player. I think his playing (wining) mentality also envolved in good direction.

Well, since Jokic won MVP award last season with over 90% of the votes, it means that something must be wrong either with those who voted or with you two who put Embid above him. And Jokic's numbers are even better this season.
