I'm a 15 years old Persian girl, you speak Farsi really good, but sometimes you mix Farsi accent with Arabic and Tajik , but I really appreciate your speaking 👌👌👌👌

farsi language has some of the most beautiful poetry and it sounds inherently poetic. i love this language. it's not my culture, but i want to learn it someday.
من ایرانیم و فارسی حرف میزنم ، به نظرم عالی بودی و خیلی روان صحبت میکردی😃 واقعا افرین بهت👏👏 I'm iranian and i speak in persian(farsi), i think it was great and you spoke really well😃perfect👏 Good luck tim👏👏
+leaf douche damn Mashallah he can speak my own language better than me! His choice of words were amazing but he just need to improve his accent and afterward he can even be mistaked as Persian and not American 😂👌🏼
Not exactly. British and American English are mutually understandable but it's not the case for Dari. I'm from Iran and I don't understand the way Pakistani people talk. That's the place right?
The way Tim speaks farsi makes me feel like he is arab and learned farsi as a second language! He is speaking farsi with a perfect arabic accent!!Believe me when Im saying it :)
Tim, I am extremely impressed! Your vocabulary is more advanced than mine, and I'm an Iranian-American. My parents immigrated to the United States 40 years ago when they were students. They have a thicker accent when they speak English than you do when you speak Farsi. Keep up the great work.
Definitely sounds like an Afghani trying to speak Farsi, I think its because some of the backgrounds that Afghans have before they speak Farsi affects how colloquial their conversation is and how they use breaks and emphasis on words, similar to what you did.
I don’t think you know what you are talking about. Farsi is the lingua Franca of Afghanistan, most people have to speak it in large cities. That being said, Afghanistan has lots of different ethnic groups who speak their own languages. But probably 30-60 percent of afghans speak Farsi as their first language. This guy is white, he has an English accented Farsi.
I'm ashamed because I'm Ukrainian and half Iranian and even can’t say any phrase Farsi but I’m grateful this guy for inspiration to learn this language
amazing! I am learning Farsi and I am enjoying teaching myself. You speak really well and hopefully I will get to that level! I just saw your tedx teen video, you have beautiful public skills too! One thing I learnt from your speech is something I and I am sure, a lot of us have forgotten and that is to just go where the natives are and speak to them, even if it's just to know about their day etc. I will be doing that! thanks! xx
Omg!!! I'm a Persian girl and seriously you are SO SO SO cute 💗❤️💋 like the cutest ever. Watched this with my mom and she is like "go find him" 😂😂. You spoke so beautiful.
Probably because people tend to be a lot more sloppy with their mother tongue because they speak fast and that whereas if you learn a language from scratch then you'll be a lot more careful
you're vocabulary is amazing!!! farsi is my native language but my vocabulary is no where near as good as yours! you're also so fluent and overall you speak farsi soooo well. very very inspiring !!

Oh my goddddd you are awesome! It’s so cute how you talk. I‘m in love with your accent. Keep going! I‘m so proud of you because I know how difficult Farsi is. Wow I‘m speechless. You are totally amazing.
Well, first of all in both Iran and Tajikistan the official language is the standard Persian language. It's called "Pârsiye Dari"[پارسی یِ دَری] which literally means "court Persian, it originates from the word "Darbâr"[دَربار] this is also the form of Persian language you read in the epic book of Šâhnâme[شاهنامه]. Persian has many dialects one of them is Lori[لُری]. It's actually the same expect that there is a difference in the vocabulary e. g. "zavun"[زوون] instead of standard Persian "zabân"[زبان] or "barâr"[برار] instead of "barâdar"[برادر]. Now about the different accent the Persians of Tajikistan have. For example the people who have this "Tajikistani accent" pronounce the standard Persian word "âzâd"[آزاد] as "ozod"[озод] or call the city of "Boxârâ"[بُخارا] as "Buxoro"[Бухоро]. The Persian language spoken in Samarqand and Bukhara and Tajikistan has been influenced by Uzbek language and Russian language which is why there are a few Russian and Uzbeki loanwords in the Persian language spoken there. Overall you might say that there is a different in pronunciation and vocabulary but certainly no different in the grammar! It should be noted that Persians from Iran also have an accent. For example the Tehrâni accent. The main feature of it is that its speakers are inured, when they speak to change the long vowel â[آ] to u(oo/او), like "Tehrân"[تهران] and "Tehrun"[تهرون], "Irâni"[ایرانی] and "Iruni"[ایرونی]. The colloquial language has no vast distinctions with the standard Persian, for example a sentence in standard Persian: Emruz mixâham asbsavâri konam[امروز میخواهم اسبسواری کنم] which in the colloquial language would be so: Emurz mixâm assavâri konam.
ECHOdavidoff Well first of all there is no language called "Tajik" in any language. I am from Tajikistan and we speak Persian language, no one says "I speak Tajik" but "Pârsi soxan miguyam"(= I speak Persian). Us Persians, regardless of whether from Afghanistan, Bahrain, Tajikistan, Iran or Uzbekistan call our language "Pârsi"[Perso-Latin script], "پارسی"[Perso-Arabic script], "Порси"[Perso-Cyrillic script], And I wish you the best of luck at learning PERSIAN language.
ECHOdavidoff You're welcome. Yeah It's quiet a mistake to use "Tajik" or "Farsi" when speaking English language. Just use Persian and everything is Ok.
***** Exactly. "Farsi"[فارسی] is the Arabic word for Persian language. In Persian the word is "Pârsi", but since Arabs have no p sound in their language they replaced this letter with a "f". Yes. us Persians call our language "Pârsi", it is derived from the Middle Persian word "Pârsig" or "Pârsik" after the name of the ethnic group of the region "Pârs"(=Persia). So you're right, Pârsig/Pârsik became Pârsi, The Old Persian word for Persia is "Pârsâ". The Middle as well as the New Persian word for it is "Pârs".
Bactria_ Tajik_w do you really have to offend the accent because it's not your own? Such a narrow point of view you got there. Understand that different accent doesn't make you superior, because it's the same language. Humiliating accents is as racist as humiliating races. Be a good human being and try to keep your hateful comments to yourself.
Tajik sounds weird, i have a Tajik friend and i barely understand him as a Persian from Iran, the Persian dialect from Iran specifically in Tehran is the classiest, smoothest and modern Persian.
Tim! you're amazing. 20 languages is great. I hope you never stop. Here's a few pointers. your pronunciation is a bit too rough, as though you are speaking arabic. Make sure to not pronounce the H and the KH too harshly. It would be more understandable if you just kept your own american accent, and not tried too hard to say KHHHHHHHHHH or HHHHHHHHH from the bottom of your throat. Iranians don't do that. think of it as hebrew. I know you speak hebrew.. Even though it's very close to arabic, and it (Hebrew) is basically from the same branch of languages..(Semitic? i believe. ) their pronunciation is slightly looser than arabic, and it sounds a bit more like farsi.. because they too don't produce sounds from the bottom of their lungs. to an outsider i guess the KHHH sound is a bit too much. but if you speak german.. or dutch or afrikaans it's THAT kinda of KH... and not the kind that arabians pronounce.
Ryan Smith I wasn't saying persian is a Semitic language. I was saying hebrew was one, which it is. but regardless Hebrew sounds a lot like Persian in pronunciation of vowels, a lot closer than arabic anyway.
jabeztomer You make a great point, jabeztomer, his accent sounds Arabic. Some Persians sound like that too, though, like people from parts of Khuzestan. Great job, Tim, keep up the good work!
Demian Ford you're right. i guess I was being a bit bias and excluded non-iranian persian speakers. thanks for pointing that out for me. I'll be more careful.
***** Did I say Farsi was a Semitic language? you might want to go back and re-read my comment before you jump to conclusions and start correcting people deary. Thank you. also it would help to glance at other people's comment before you start bashing on people.. here's one that relates to you: I wasn't saying persian is a Semitic language. I was saying hebrew was one, which it is. but regardless Hebrew sounds a lot like Persian in pronunciation of vowels, a lot closer than arabic anyway.
the german ch isn't strong. it's more like a H or a sh. only swiss people pronounce german with a strong kh. just thought i'd let you know. a lot of people think german is rough because the only german they hear is from rammstein and ww2
your pronunciation is almost better than mine, as a first-generation iranian-american. you've learned the language beautifully, you should definitely visit the country... you would love the culture and the history that can be found all around Iran.
He's amazing... Yes his accent is less your typical farsi (though there are so many accents in Iran alone anyway) but this kid has started the language like 6 months ago and he speaks this well. Most of Persians I know who have lived in the west for over 10 years have the thickest accent as they speak English.. Well done Tim.
Great job! As a Persian speaker I was very proud to hear someone non-Persian speak Persian. Tajik is the same as Persian, but sometimes spoken with a different accent. The main difference is the Russian script.

Hello Tim i really admire the fact that you have the ability to learn all this languages !! I am always glad to watch your video , you are really an inspiration i wish i can learn as you :) good luck for the future and wish you the best
Tim, I am very impressed. I have been wanting to learn Farsi & Arabic for about 11 years, ever since I converted to Islam. However, other than my daily Namaz (Prayer) and a few phrases in both Arabic & Farsi, I don't really know either language. Do you have any recommendations for how I can learn from home? We have no classes in either language at my local Universities and I live in a small town in south western New York state. We have very little available in our area. Please, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
adzan saputra, no. I didn't convert to Islam just because I learned Arabic. You need to re-read my post. I said I have been learning to understand Arabic & Farsi ever since I became Muslim. In other words, my language studies began AFTER I became Muslim. Learn to read buddy!
*****, there were actually a variety of different things that drew me to explore Islam in the first place. Far too numerous for a post on a RU-vid video. However, the earliest draw was probably the 5 pillars of Islam. After that, the rest was easy. Thank you for asking. :-)
I can’t believe you speak Persian better than me. My parents are Iranian and they speak Persian at home but when it comes to us they always speak English. Great job!!
Wow, Persian and Arabic share a lot of the same words or similar words in their languages. I Understand Arabic and picked out some of the words that we use in the language and referred to the translation and we have the same meanings :D, Probably something to do with all our cultural and linguistic mixing during the Islamic golden age, between Arabic, Farsi and Turkish language and culture.
That's because this is (Iranian) Farsi. Afghan Persian or Dari is more original in vocabulary, and sounds similar to the original Pre-Islamic Middle Persian of the Sassanians, which I prefer. It also doesn't have the exaggerated tones and voice like in Farsi. And to those who say he speaks with an Afghani accent, NO he doesn't, some words may be Dari sounding but he sounds very Iranian. He speaks with a mixture of Farsi, Arabic and Dari words (in decreasing order of influence). Many Iranian farsi words are Arabic, but not Dari.
Thats Not the truth, Maybe there are some words of arabic in farsi but if you learn the farsi of 1979 there are no arabic words in farsi. Also i prefer parsi and its a lot better than dari
Avi Melekh ich know what you mean but the interesting thing is, that all arabic words in farsi have a farsi word to. I mean if hello means Salam, this is arabic but there is another word: durud, this is Persian and you can learn the language Persian without any arabic word. And sry for my english, i am german
well your accent is not like the way that Iranian people which is okay and not a big deal since you haven't been in Iran before.your accent is close to tajiki or afghani I guess which is still considered as persian..I know your feeling.when I was learning english and German I had these problems too like you see people with different accent and you are like wtf but still you speak parsi nice:)
Actually, Tajiki and Iranian Farsi the same and they can easily talk to each other. However, Tajiki Language is little bit more pure in terms of vocabulary. Iranian Farsi includes more Arabic words than Tajiki. By the way, you learned Farsi from an Afgan Instructor. Your accent is Afgani. Anyway Its good job.
Hi all, im very interested in SOV languages. im currently studying Korean and very into Farsi as well. can any1 suggest me some online resources to learn Farsi? thanks
there is some youtube videos and there is few lesson in there, which maybe helpful just type ( Farsi / Persian Lesson) and for grammar u may need to go to google and type persian grammar in english) also for the Pronunciation i suggest u to listen to persian or farsi songs which is easy to follow and repeat, and I've seen some foreigner speaker that made a video out of it, and they did a pretty good job and subtitle movies is the most important one. i wish u good luck and tnx for the commitment :)
That was so amazing!! Only thing is like everybody else said, you speak with an Arabic accent. Also if you're interested in other poets I can suggest: saadi, ferdosi, and moolavi
Dear Tim ,,, I'm one of your Persian fan. But please do NOT say Farsi! actually, It is Parsi ... That's why we call it Persian in English.( As you know, There is no /p/ sound in Arabic. Therefore they call it Farsi.) Moreover, your accent isn't like Persian. It's completely like Arabic and Urdu! I just wanted to help you by the way. Keep learning.... Good luck my dear friend... :)
Both of my parents are from Iran and almost their whole family ( except a part of my mums ) are from Iran. I have to say, some of the words you use may not be a word commonly used when speaking with friends/family. You have more of a... Television reporter language, maybe? hah
Hi brother actually we are same 😅😅 ı am from turkey 🇹🇷 and ı have been learning persian for long time, ı am 19years old . I thing we can help each other
