@@Stationjoke a movie about Prisoners forming a football team and playing the prison guards. Pretty funny movie. There’s a 1974 version with Burt Reynolds and a 2005 version with Adam Sandler
@@llahhsoj7651 Cry after a lose? He should've happy with the participation trophy right? I bet you cheered when Cam Newton cried. He cried, but afterwards he delivered. So STFU
ESPN needs a 30 for 30 - Stalkers , Sex Offenders , Child porn , 40 and 50 year old guys thinking they are in college ! Since he got arrested for stalking another woman Chris Berman hasnt been seen in some time . Maybe his luck ran out after stalking 5 different women .
@@rawsko0316 any quarterback could of won on these gator teams. They were stacked to the top. Its just Greg Mcelroy from Alabama the talent makes it easy
Things went downhill after Spurrier left in terms of discipline. I only remember Spurrier going light on one player, Fred Taylor, over being involved with friends for a relatively petty theft at a UF bookstore.
@@rondokillemdead7728 the outcome would’ve been Cam Newton Lmaoo Urban Meyer although he’s a bit immature his resume says otherwise he brought a championship for the Buckeyes as well using the same recipe. And although a pathetic attempt he tried to revive Tebow by making him a TE but not only was it too late but Tebow just isn’t that guy.
Not a Tebow fan but you can't blame him. The one thing you can say about him is he was never a troublemaker. He was a class act and should be admired for his on and off the field behavior!
@@sw5401 I'm a Tide guy who lives in the Tampa Bay area. If the Bucs would've signed him on instead of slippery crab leg stealer Jameis they would've filled the seats in RayJay years ago. The locals would've went nuts. Tebow had the talent no doubt. The same type of fools salivated over Johnny Football and where did that get them?
I played on the University of Colorado's national championship football team back in 1990. One night I burped really loud at a bar and somebody etched those words into a table there. It's a monument to who I am
Shit that Florida team wasn’t nothing. My son’s youth baseball team. 9 to 12 years old, had two kids we picked up from juvenile detention and one with major violence issues- on a team with just 15 kids. By the time my kid graduated from college, two of his teammates were in prison, one was gunned down by his dealer in a dispute and another had made the regional news for assaulting a state trooper and then jumping off a 100 foot high bridge into a very cold tidal estuary. And you know something- every single one of those kids were great teammates. And never gave me any problems.
@freekyty5 ha, I had some custom Vikings dog tags made up with the Vikings logo on the front, and the back had a scripture looking quote.. "Without mercy, there goes Percy" SKOL!
Outstanding Job, Mike. I have always wondered why this particular team has never been put under a microscope. The Patriots and Bill Belichick were crucified after Hernandez's arrest like they were the first team to draft a bad player, but I hardly saw anyone slam Urban Myer for continuing to have Hernandez and many of these other players on his team, despite their off-field behavior.
First, the intro was inaccurate as hell. 2nd, this guy should have did 2 separate videos, 1 for bashing them as people and another to bash the 2008 team. I guess you have to get views and make money somehow.
The gulf between what Tebow genuinely is, vs alot of these guys, would be funny, if it weren't so sad. As a Gator fan, I loved that four year stretch with Tebow.
Idk man, (I’ll admit I’m a biased LSU fan) but I just don’t think anyone could shut down 2019 LSU. They were on a mission and wouldn’t be denied. But if anyone could have, I’ll agree that it would have to be this team. I’m obviously not a fan of Florida but I was truly a fan of this team. They were unreal...
Watching this video a week after urban Meyer gets fired from the jaguars and hearing stories of Meyer kicking his player and saying things like "I'm the head coach I'll do whatever I want" of course it was a kicker Meyer kicked cause I'm guessing any other player would of beat Meyer's ass. What I want to know is how Tim Tebow and urban Meyer got along for so long and have been friends for years? Imagine the trouble these players would of gotten in if not for Tebow looking after them? Age old story though isn't it? If your good enough at a sport there isn't much a player can't get away with.
Meyer thought he was dealing with kids still. Doesn’t realize you should respect his players now that they’re men. Although to him they’re still probably lower than him.
Imagine if if Tim Tebow had tried to be a tight end sooner. He has explosive speed and he was really agile. He would have been a tight end that really put people on notice and really crush the enemy team. He's got good hands he shown that. I don't know why he did that baseball crap.
As a baseball player, I know exactly why he did that "baseball crap". HAD he started his minor league career around the time he was finished at Denver, I think he had a decent shot at least a call up in MLB. He had a really nice swing but a limited arm and OF range. Good speed but not elite base running speed. (His college football teammate and roommate at Fla was Riley Cooper who also played baseball for the Gators and later in the NFL. Riley was the Gator baseball RF so they must have talked a little baseball) He just started too late and of course, everyone knew it was more gimic than substance. I saw him play twice in the minors. What MiLB owners all agree on is this. . . when Tebow's teams came to town, ALL the stadiums sold out quickly. He put fannies in the seats. So he didn't succeed. At least he followed his heart. How many of us can say that?
The Gators did NOT lose the BCS Championship in 2009. They lost the SEC Championship game, to Alabama. The ONLY National Championship game that the Gators have lost was in 1995, to Nebraska.
Was there for almost all the home games, die hard Gator fan. AH was trouble back then but the articles were buried on the back page and non existent in school papers. 2008 was a awesome year though. Basketball team won the national championship as well.
he was already 34 by the time he tried out as TE with the Jags, and hadn't suited up for six years by then. he had the size to be a perfect H-back (TE/FB hybrid), combine that with his explosive first step and willingness to get physical as well as large hands, it was a logical conclusion for many scouts.
Crocodile tears. This goofus making this video is just as bad. Tebow apologized for the loss. He took that game on his back. He did not lose another game that year. There are teams worse than the Gators. 14 out of 120. That is knit picking.
cool thing about tim tebow, with all the curruption that has gone on in his locker rooms, hes never dropped dimes on anyone. he just lived to his code and kept focussed on himself edit*** as far as i kno...ive never heard of him talking about anything
Tebow sounds like a guy who tried to keep a large group of thugs from acting like thugs. He did his best but he was was trying tow his kayak against a current equal to that of Niagara Falls
I was in Gainesville during this time. Going to school. Tebow absolutely tried to keep this guys in line, but it was a perfect storm for issues. The Gators were No.1 in the country, AND the No.1 party school in the country. The town is super small, and these guys were major celebrities. They could go anywhere they wanted and do anything they wanted. If these guys got arrested in Gainesville, you better believe it was bad. Because there wasn’t a cop in the city who would’ve risked arresting one of these star players in a town that worshipped them. Whatever the guys had done, had to have been so undeniable, and so bad, that even the most reluctant cops, had no choice but to arrest them, or bring cases up on them. I can’t even begin to fathom the things some of these guys got away with.
@@onemaddad3823 well it didn't stop the police in Gainesville from arresting the Gators' best defensive player Carlos Dunlap on a DUI charge right before the SEC championship vs Alabama in 09. You must be thinking about Tallahassee.
@@Mikgwerd- Tallahassee is actually a larger market although both are outside the top 100 markets. Tallahassee is 105 and Gainesville is 151. Until the 2000s, Gainesville didn’t even have an NBC or CBS affiliate (Jacksonville stations were the default stations into Gainesville).
Jimmy Johnson university of Miami was the first one to have the mentality, I f you wanna win get some thugs ... It made the hurricanes a dominant force for decades. Then other teams started to do the same thing
Now that SC has ruled we will see the schools with rich boosters hiring athletes for employment as part of new courses in athletic business, etc. Because they can get paid for "education" related activities. $100,000 a year to go to the office 3 days a week during the school year. I think it's great, now schools won't have to hide it. 4 year scholarship, football and a "athletic business studies" curiculum with intern programs.......$100,000 a year. Bidders?
Tebow was incredible in the playoffs for DENVER as the total underdog. He should've went to MONTREAL to play for the ALOUETTES in the CFL as he was very much desired up here. FLUTIE and GARCIA are most recent examples of why.
Mikerophone, you do great stuff, but I have to confess, this one is very depressing to me. I hope Tebow is a good influence on his teammates.... as I suspect that is his main reason for being with the Jags.
And people are surprised when I say Meyer should never be allowed to coach. He has a history of allowing "anything goes" as long as you win football games. This UF team is just one example. This guy is sneaky, dishonest and a total jerk.
This video has aged... hilariously since June. Also, even though I don't subscribed to your channel, YT recommended it to me, so take some pleasure in that!
I know this is a football channel but the graphic saying Tebow was a 2-2-3 hitter like it's a play scheme made me do a double take. For anyone who doesn't know it's .223 batting average.
This is a dope video, few points are wrong though, and alot of people who are here watching, are like you and love sports and football in general. So it's not anything we haven't been told. It's just something some may have forgotten about. Either way, solid video. This is your best content imo, these style videos. Or the ones you do about players who have gone Mia! Keep up the hard work
We used to get away with all kinds of shit in high school and college. When you're a star on the football team. And help fill the seats you get a slap on the wrist on certain situations.
It's not a curse. They were win at all cost. Their bad behavior was covered up at UF. They thought they were special. They thought the law didn't apply to them. They get to the NFL. All of a sudden there's nobody to cover for them.
I love those teams with Tebow, they’ll forever be my favorite football to watch, but let’s face it, u gotta have some criminals on your team to win just facts.
Hey do you notice the ruthless criminal element leads to success on the field. It takes that same ruthless attitude to wreak havoc on the grid iron. You can't separate it in some people, they can't turn it off. Their parents put them in football because it would curb that energy. However there are but so many football games to be played and it only three hours out of the day. 6 hours in the NFL.
Not weak because he’s a Christian, he’s just a great college player rather than pro. It’s just sad that such a good Christian “leader” was unable to help any of these guys. All press at that time was about how he was a God, while everything behind the scenes was ignored
@@jetsteeltherealdeal7827 why do I gotta be stupid? I don’t know why you’re getting upset about it. No one ever thought Tebow was weak because he is a Christian. He was a leader. Period.
The scariest team? Yea, my biggest criticism of Urban is he does not seem to care if his players are thugs or have any morals, just as long as they can play.
Can't say I blame him. His job was to create and coach the best teams possible. Objectively he succeeded in every possible metric. Morals an what not fall by the way side because he isn't a social worker.
One dude was arrested for trying to remove a parking boot, another for throwing a stack of cups at a restaurant. Not saying they don't deserve to be arrested but rather that it's unfortunate for them to be grouped with some of their teammates in this manner.
