Texans had hired him as their strength coach a few years back..... don't know how that went. 'here everyone, take your strength vitamins' edit:::: shit.... lol. guess this is exactly what happened.
Guy knows more about strength science then most anyone in the world. Worked with and trained under some of the best trainers of the past 20 years and was know to be one of the most ferocious lifters in the history of the sport. Would also laugh about hiring Arnold Schwarzenegger to be your Strength coach? You guys are living in a fantasy land. You still don't understand. Steroids don't turn you into a freak athlete they only allow you to compound what is already there and mean nothing without an absolute insane work ethic. Plenty of guys are on gear and look like shit. And if you honestly don't think almost every other player in the NFL is on something - like I said you're living in a fantasyland. I've never touched the stuff and wouldn't even consider even TRT until I was far older but of actually think the thing that made Cush so good was steroids you're a fool. To quote Nate Diaz - "Everybody is on steroids."
He is still responsible for one of the BEST lines ever uttered on Hard Knocks (to D Hop): “I don’t even go to Starbucks. I mean, I used to… then I realized I wasn’t a chick.”
Imagine a future where they make childbirth a contact sport and start issuing helmets haha... *Cushing comes out headbutting the doctor after having punched his way out* 😂
Hey brother I just want to say how much I appreciate your work. I am a 64 year old white man that has always tried to have understanding and compassion for others. They call me a recovering Alcoholic and drug addict but I consider myself a recovering Christian. I know your videos covers sports stories but its your values of not judging others and allowing them a second chance that really touches my heart.I go to treatment hospitals to to try and give encouragement to others that they might overcome their struggles also. I was in that world for almost 50 years. I would really enjoy speaking with you one day I think it would do my heart good. Thank you for your hard work and honesty and most of all for understanding that there is good in all. sometimes they just need a second chance. I've been clean 5 years now and have a successful fence company by the grace of God. Thank you again and God bless and allow you to prosper
What compelled you to include your race?? This is getting crazy. You include your race to appease self righteous hypocrites. A world filled with hypocrisy.🙄🙄
Why did you mention your race? It wasn't necessary. You baby boomers are disgusting with your constant groveling and trying to show how you're one of the "good whites."
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!! And then also the world would obviously be in a way better place with everything only if there were more people with your line of thinking and especially with the way that you look at life and how you treat everyone. I'm happy for you and wish you much more success in your goals in helping others too. You bring hope to this much deeded World and I just want to thank you for it. And so thank you and again GOD BLESS YOU!
@@NeverTalkToCops1 No, family is beautiful. Ive never felt more strength then leaning on my family that I had. It isn't perfect, nothing in life is, & when thats realized the faults are easier to overcome. Remember the friends you've chosen in life are your family.
While PEDs may have contribute alot of his success on the field, it really overshadowed his football intelligence. He plays like a maniac but he is an incredibly intelligent football player. Since Brian Cushing, no Texans linebacker has ever been able to direct the defense on the same level as Brian Cushing have.
@Blia Yang he did. In 2012 Ray Ray was accused of using deer antler spray and since it was his final year they didn’t pursue anything. But he came back from a supposed season ending injury. Kinda weird huh?! Plus he got away with murder!
@Blia Yang I agree. I personally think the NFL covers up a lot of bad shit because it benefits them. Some of these players do things normal healthy males just can’t do! How?! You get what I’m saying? I think it’s still in the NFL. INJURIES ARE SO BAD NOWADAYS. I THINK ITS FROM ROIDS AND PEDS.
@@mikeberry8036 He didn't get away with murder lol. Plus he's the best defensive player ever. Plus NFL players aren't normal human beings, they're elite level athletes lmfao, not nearly all of them are on roids. Plus stop typing in all capital letters.
@@Zack_410 You never watched the story did you? Yeah he got away with murder. The all caps was for all the roid injuries that keep happening. Ray is one of the best ever. I won’t take that away, but he absolutely used ped his last year. If he came back it would’ve came out!
I kind of wish he was more fair to Brian a majority of the NFL is on drug and the drug testing is a joke.Steroids at these point in the NFL aren't cheating there a fact of the game no one wants to talk about. Brian got caught but does that matter if you have to do them just to compete. I like FlemLo but his views on steroids are every short sighted and not well reasearched
Yup, all these guys are on something...Cushing was just on so much gear for so long that he couldn't keep ahead of the testing and consequences (test, injuries, etc). And the fact that he is a fucking epic meathead jackass.
Love your videos bud. i stumbled on one last week and now I watch everyday. You always have very interesting subject matter. I always find myself saying be fore I watch, "O yeah what happened to that player" .Right On FlemLo!!
Love your videos bro, the production of your videos flow just like your voice. You are awesome at telling a story. I feel like I know a good amount about football but you just keep expanding my knowledge on the sport. Keep doing what you’re doing bro, much success!!
I was just thinking about that. Me and Thomas aka Pokie actually grew up and went to the same high school together. Funny story is that Georgia was actually recruiting somebody else to play basketball. Noticed how athletic Thomas was and sent his tape over to the football team. He is a real country boy. Didn't have it easy growing up. Glad he finally turning in his cleats!
He also ended 3 players careers with helmet to helmet hits and was notorious for playing dirty. Ask long time packer fans. That fucker head hunted almost every game against the packers. Nearly killed Terrence Murphy and almost ended devante Adam’s career. On a blindside block on an int.
Another great video from FlemLo Raps. I developed tennis elbow when I was 40 and my doctor put me on a three week steroid routine to heal the injury. For those three weeks I felt like I was 25 again. I had a lot more energy, the pain in my elbow went away in a week, I was less worn out after cardio and my wife was having to fend me off with a pitchfork. And that was just three weeks. As much as I hate PED's in sports, when the roids ran out I understood how easy it is for athletes to get hooked on them.
Get on TRT. Nothing wrong with getting your test levels up. I just turned 40 myself and looking to get a blood analysis done. If I can hold off a little longer I will. But I know my levels are getting low.
Bro, it was placebo effect. The type of steroids you received were anti-inflammatory corticosteroids (probably cortisone). They have absolutely zero muscle-building, strength/energy-enhancing properties. In fact, there's some evidence that they might cause a slight decrease in muscle mass and connective tissue strength.
Ofc the ones they use are illegal and dangerous but ofc u can make it yo the nfl or any sports you want to it’s seems to be super strong and then like Olympic guys every guy is on it all so bunch of cheaters in my own opinion!!
First time ever seeing your channel & obviously first-ever video. Well done, truly. Best new channel (to me that is) I’ve found in quite a while. Anyway, I’ll check your other content as I’m guessing it will be just as informative and insightful. If so, I’ll subscribe and spread the word ad best I can. 👍🏼
But it did not get him a championship nor did it get him to Canton. STERIODS can make you do for a period of time but it can't make you great which is why very few people who are on enhancement performance or PEDs get to any hall of fame in ANY sport because they are things that steroids and PEDs can't give you.
@@Lovegainers5 but you gotta think about if he was ever naturally that good to be a HOFer, we don’t even kno if he was naturally good enough to be an NFL player with the PEDs
@@Lovegainers5 Give it a goddamn rest. The NFL didn't even kick people out for steroid use until 1990. Even today, 1 in 10 players confidentially report anabolic steroid use, and others probably use similar compounds, and it's probably underreported. There's dozens of steroid-using players in the hall. Steroids don't turn a 5'4" kid with osteoporosis into Barry Sanders, but they sure do help good player become better, at the cost of your health.
@@TheoreticalString yep I’d much rather taste the nfl for a short period than to never get there at all .. plus how do we know no one ever got to the HOF on peds if they never got caught ? It’s possible there’s a ton of guys from the 70’s and 80’s in the Hall ..They’re sure as hell not gonna come out and admit it , roids were around long before pro sports tested for em as you mentioned.
Met Cush once. Really nice, and humble guy. Told him I was at Texas nat’l chip game rooting for the Horns, but that I was rooting for him as a pro. We had a laugh. He was surprisingly cool about it. He was scary HUGE though, and I’m a pretty big ex-football dude myself. The pressures of expectations and wanting to recover from injuries probably got to him. He’s not the only one. I played my college ball in FL, and a lot of guys who grew up near Ray, say the same stuff about him.
Surprisingly cool about what? You rooting for a team he's playing against? You guys have the idea that a dude should rip your head off for not being a fan of his team. 😂 he's a person...
Man hope you get a show on a major network in a short clip format. You come off unbiased which I like and always give a positive spin and give some good life lessons
The backstory behind the Cushing headbutt stemmed from those two playing against each other in college. Shawn Lauvao was an offensive lineman at ASU and saw Cushing on the other side of the field every time they played against each other. So the animosity was built up from there and continued when they were in the league.
I can totally believe that at a young age, I was 4’11” 96pounds going into my sophomore year and 5’11” 160pounds by the end of the school year and kept growing the next four years.
@@carlreeves6108 no disrespect but you were very small to be a sophomore in high school lol. He went from a frail sophomore to a nfl safety in like 5 months
@@peytonrosenberg6603 oh I get it completely to gain that much weight is a huge red flag I stoped growing at 21 finally 6-1 190 it took me two years to get to 235 naturally and a lot of eating and meal prep. That muscle memory stuff is real. I was jacked when I was in my late teens. When I stopped lifting, my muscles became flabby pretty fast, but every time I go back to lifting, I get jacked again in like a month.
For sure, I haven't been fighting for a while but used to train up to 170-175. Any time I stop and start training it's very easy to get back to that point but then I plateau and have to break ass to put on more. Super, super real
@@ScentSense So true. Same thing with Running. Same thing with anything, really. I got a knee injury, came back from deployment and was bigger than I was in HS. Hadn't played Basketball in YEARS at this point. My buddy came up, spent 2 Months of my Leave and all we did was ball. First week was GARBAGE, but Week 2 rolled around and we were like we were 16 again, even better. I had never been a big runner, but being in the Army and being bigger... running becomes life. Started working up. 10K, Half-Marathon, then a full Marathon. Stopped running for a bit. White Sands, New Mexico was holding a Baton Memorial Death March Marathon. Yea he used PEDs but 90 percent of them did atm, he played passionately and always help lead the team from a baby organization to an AFC South champion for the 1st time and helped add even more.
Cushing being juiced out of his mind was sort of an open secret. He was like an infinitely less bad ass version of Bill Romanowski. Even back in his playing days me and friends would call Brian Cushing, Brian Juicing.
@@Bidens_Diaper Then they need to make a rule that allows everyone to juice, someone who juices Vs someone who is clean, juice will always win if they have the same skills
The massive hole in your logic is that a lot of other players aren’t on something. Cushing was probably an angry violent guy without steroids. He probably only took a closely monitored, regular amount of steroids.
go to 6:53 and pause the video. Pic on left hes got obvious signs of gynocomastia, formation of breast tissue, secondary to anabolic androgenic steroid use.
@@UpsideDownGaming97 Actually, I don't think so. It is kind of like drinking alcohol... For some, they are a happy drunk... for others, they turn into real SOBs... It enhances something that is lurking just beneath...
@@travisjazzbo3490 you basically just said that roid rage is a myth. Roid rage is the idea that solely using steroids of any kind just will turn an angel into a demon. If its something thats already lurking around inside someone its gonna come out eventually, it's just alcohol will expedite the process. Its actually probably way worse for alcohol. Cushing is just an asshole. The roids just make him a next level asshole. But even without them he would still be a dickhead. The one thing that I'd say is a more obvious symptom of roid abuse is the constant tendon and cartilage injuries.
Love your videos bro. Excellent work. I played against Cushing many times in my 7 years in Jax. He was a old school kind of player, but whispers of steroids persisted about him in Jax locker rooms as well. Never judged him as a person for it, but tests in the NFL for PEDs do not lie.
Ur telling me at least 60-70% of the league then and now isn’t on some sort of PEDs? It’s not that hard to quit before the season starts so they drop clean during it 🤷🏻♂️ just bc u may never heard the “whispers” about others, doesn’t mean they weren’t keeping it on the low. Most aren’t proud of it.
@@Lamonzxl wat makes u think I care? Lmao what I said wasn’t a statement, more of a question to him. But IMO most players do or have done some sort of PED’s.

Cushing's father is to blame. I'm sure his father told him "If you're not cheating; you're not trying - just don't get caught and embarrass the family!"
I trained with the same trainer as Cushing, a guy named Joe DeFranco (who trains many pro athletes). I have no idea on the steroids rumor but can say he had a world class training program with a world class trainer since he was in high school. That most definitely contributed to his strength, speed, and power. Nobody gets to his level without hard work and world class people around, steroids or not.
This is a lie. Steroids is like challenging another to a fight and pulling out brass knuckles. When the other dude says "hey you used brass knuckles " the cheater says " you could have used them also".
@@jamesmorton5017 you obviously don’t know how steroids work. You don’t just instantly grow muscle, get strong, and become a world-class athlete from a needle. It requires a ton of hard work and intelligent, disciplined training. All steroids do is help you recover more quickly. I would suggest doing some basic research before making such ignorant remarks.
Steroids apologists. Of course you have to train massively hard. Maybe building a fire is a better analogy. 2 guys build a fire with the same sticks, papers, etc. One guy sprays lighter fluid on his. Whose fire ignites more quickly?
Flemlo, mate your videos are outstanding. As an ignorant Australian and all I knew about the NFL before stumbling upon this channel was that Joe Green was mean, William Perry was the refrigerator, John Riggins was the Loco and that Bo knows well everything. You have captured my interest in the game, its players and its history which is pretty bloody amazing for a game that is a few minutes of brilliance tied together by advertising.
Let me just say, incredible video. Amazing research and you took really fair, neutral points on every issue. Essentially you gave us the information with just facts, and called out any sort of biases. You earned a follower brotha
Look at the picture on the left at 6:55. He has a wild amount of gyno, plus it's not difficult to beat the NFL ped drug test. He was on stupid amounts of gear and was using HCG to help estradiol levels. Also the anger on game days might be from a 19-nor like cheque drops because that compound is in and out of your system so quickly.
