I've seen this story told by many and this is by far my favorite. You are a pretty masterful storyteller and artist. I recently watched the recording of a brilliant lecture you gave. Your students and university are incredibly fortunate to have you.
is this joke about someone cutting down trees and yelling timber but the last tree wont fall because its deaf so he fingerspells timber and the tree falls down?
I only wish I was able to understand what words are being signed here. I'm trying to learn ASL but, I don't have a lot of the words memorized yet and still working on the fast signing comprehension.
@@tiagoguilherme9539 HINT: See the way she puts her hands to indicate yelling , then does finger-spelling? And that trees are falling all over the place? Then, near the end she signs "one" then for "deaf" (Index finger to ear then mouth) . . . Then the tree falls. . . See my comment a few minutes ago.
I am hearing, an amateur comedian, took one ASL class, fascinated by deaf-culture, but understood enough (5%) of this to suspect that the premise is probably about "Yelling in ASL". Am I right? I was able to figure out the finger-spelling. . . . NO WAIT. . . Watched several more times. . . That one tree is deaf, right? So. It's NOT about yelling in ASL. It seems to be that instead of yelling, the lumberjack had to sign it. . Is that it??? . Now *THAT'S* funny!! . PLEASE answer. . .
